I absolutely loved this book! i thought that 'Name Your Price' is one of my favorite light romance reads of 2024 thusfar. I really thought it was so well written and developed. I also thought that the characters were very easy to root for and easy to visualize. I thought the ending was also executed so good too! My only wish was that it was a tadddddd but longer. I think another 100 pages would've been perfect. That being said I would read it again in a heartbreak and recommend it to all my friends.

Thank you so much to Holly James and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton for the eARC to review. I loved this book! I mean who doesn't love a reality TV second chance love romance?!?! Olivia and Chuck's story is so well written. The game show reminds me a bit of Netflix's Too Hot Too Handle which is one of my favorites. I definitely recommend this to any one who love some good reality TV.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Name Your Price follows Olivia, the infamous love child of two Hollywood celebrities turned journalist, and Chuck, a B-list actor, who are always either breaking up or making up. The book opens with them having a fight on the street in front of Chuck’s apartment building which a passerby films. Producers of a reality TV show see the video, which has gone viral, and invite Olivia and Chuck to be on the show for a chance to win a million dollars. Olivia wants nothing less but the retirement home where her beloved grandmother lives is threatening eviction if she can’t keep up with the rent and Chuck wants the chance to win Olivia back.

Olivia and Chuck are well-developed characters with believable chemistry and I understood both their motivations for breaking up and why they wanted to be together. However, I struggled to get through the majority of scenes about filming the reality show. The producers of the show kept intentionally bringing up painful moments from the characters' lives and blindsiding them in interviews for the drama. While I understand that this is likely realistic and worked to move the plot forward, I found it hard to read about characters continuously being put in unpleasant situations by people who were taking advantage of them. Although I didn’t enjoy this aspect of the book, I think it shows how well-written it is that Holly James was able to make me feel deeply connected with these characters and want the best for them. By the end of the book we get to see Olivia and Chuck have both individual character development and grow as a couple. It was rewarding to see them learn to communicate and how to best support each other. While this book didn’t personally work for me, I am excited to see what else Holly James publishes in the future.

This book left me in a what’s gonna happen next stance for almost a majority of the book! This book reminds you of reality tv shows and what must really go on behind the drama. Olivia and Chuck are cute together, but seriously Olivia, you need to tone it down sometimes. Team Chuck 100%.

Olivia and Chuck have amazing chemistry in this heartfelt, rom-com style novel about a couple who has a huge breakup that breaks the internet, and then tries to live together for a month to win a million dollars. It’s exactly as entertaining as it sounds. The will they/won't they energy was strong and the switching between banter, steam, earnestness, and arguments was super entertaining. Although the lead-up and talk about their physical connection was often, there were only two scenes of intimacy, so thankfully that wasn’t the whole book. The actual plot line and character development was actually well done, especially since they both had a long way to go. I like how the relationship issues were actually talked about and not just smoothed over making the fiction romance feel more attainable. Overall this was an enjoyable quick romance, easily 4 stars.

This book grew on me the more I kept reading. Olivia and Chuck had an explosive viral break-up that led to a million dollar offer they couldn’t refuse. All they need to do is share a house for a month - throw in no touching, one bed, and 24/7 cameras, what could go wrong?

I absolutely ADORED this book. It has to be one of my top fave books I've read in a really long time. The banter was 100% and the plot sucked me right in. This was such a fun read, and the characters were so cute and lovable. Even though both characters are in the limelight, they felt very down to earth and relatable, and their love/hate for each other felt so real. I can't wait to read more from this writer.

After finding themselves the faces of a viral breakup video, Olivia and Chuck are approached by television producers to star on an episode of the game show Name Your Price. They can win a million dollars each… if they can live with each other for 30 days.

I loved the idea of this book! The forced proximity, the tension between Chuck and Olivia, it was so good! I loved the side characters too. What I really enjoyed is that while the Name Your Price episode was obviously the forefront, it wasn’t everything. We got to see everything from start to end be wrapped in a pretty bow which made it feel complete. By the end of the book, I felt like I was right there in Chuck and Olivia’s world. This was the ultimate comfort read.

Thank you to Holly James, Penguin Group Dutton, and NetGalley for the eARC!!

Unfortunately, this book was a miss for me. It felt like it should've been an alternating POV to really get the stories through both character's perspective, rather than having things just described to us by our FMC. I started the book intrigued but didn't make it very far (maybe 30%) before I was skimming.

I was lucky to read an ARC of Name Your Price, the first book I’ve read from Holly James. I loved it! There were some twists I wasn’t expecting that kept it fresh and though I knew there’d be a happy ending, it came about in a bit of a different way, which was nice! I enjoyed Holly’s writing and it was both silly and spicy. I’ll definitely read more by her! 4.5 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the e-ARC to this book. Breakups are tough. Olivia and Chuck’s breakup was no different, but it was a little more public than either one was hoping. A video goes viral of the two of them breaking up and the “show” needs to go on. Imagine living with your ex, in a beautiful home, cameras everywhere you turn…what could go wrong? Oh and sweeten the pot- a pretty little payday if you make it a month.

I loved Olivia and Chuck’s story from beginning to end. Their banter was great, their chemistry was perfect, and their back stories throughout the story really made me keep reading! The book was well written and was a great “lighter read” type of rom-com. Highly recommend!

I DNF’d this book at about 30%. It just really didn’t grab my attention. The characters chemistry was not it for me.

I love the premise of this book, exes who are agree to go on a gameshow to win a lot of money. This was a satisfying second chance romance story. While I enjoyed this book, I'm not sure it is one I would reread or recommend.

What I liked:
-Olivia and Chuck's relationship. I think their relationship was a solid point in the story. High emotions and BIG feelings happening in this book. At one time, I thought Olivia seriously hated Chuck. And while I couldn't really understand why she felt that way, I definitely felt her feelings through the pages.
-The gameshow premise. Nothing went smoothly and I love how things about it took me by surprise. There were frustrating moments and swoony moments and I loved it.
-Not everyone else was nice to Olivia and Chuck.

What I wish would have been better:
- there was too much description or paragraph after paragraph. I feel like there wasn't a lot of dialogue in this book and it didn't make the book fly like I would expect a romance book to.
- more things need flushed out. In the end, we were told of specific changes but were never showed anything. I think this made Olivia and Chuck's relationship feel a little forced.

Overall, an interesting read!

Holly James shows her impressive versatility in her third novel, Name Your Price. While The Deja Glitch was soft and sweet, Name Your Price is bursting with chemistry so hot, it threatened to burn my brain while also full of emotions that pulled on my heartstrings. There is so much more to Olivia and Chuck's love story than their intense physical attraction and James masterfully peels back their layers one at a time to reveal the sweet and supportive love story at the center. All set against the glamorous and fast paced backdrop of Hollywood, Name Your Price is such a delicious treat for your summer reading and all year around!

3 Stars Name Your Price by Holly James is a goofy romance centered around some heavier familial topics. It’s the literal definition of forced proximity as the two characters are paid to stay in a house together for a reality tv show. The chemistry and banter was on point. A fun read!

This book had so much of what I love about a rom-com, forced proximity, one bed, plus it involved a reality show! This was a fun read, fans of rom-coms will definitely enjoy it.

I loved this novel that posed the question: how much money would it take for you to shack up with your ex?

Olivia and Chuck share an explosive chemistry that frequently leaves them unable to decide if they want to tear off each other's heads or their clothes. When their very passionate public breakup goes viral, they're approached by reality TV execs who make them an offer they can't refuse: live in a house together for a month. If they survive, they'll win one million dollars.

Between the hilarious hijinks and sizzling chemistry, this was such an entertaining read from start to finish! I also adored Olivia's complicated backstory, which added so much depth to her character. And of course, it didn't hurt that Chuck was an absolute smokeshow Can't recommend this enough!

This novel follows on and off again couple Oliva Martin and Chuck Walsh. Olivia is a journalist with dreams of one day becoming an author and Chuck is an up-and-coming actor looking for his next big break. Olivia opts out of staying in the spotlight due to the scrutiny her parents faced when she was a baby whereas Chuck is hoping to redeem himself after being labeled difficult to work with after being fired from an upcoming blockbuster.
Olivia and Chuck have made a habit of fighting and making up, until one fight goes too far which leads to an explosive breakup between the two that was caught on camera. Mortified that the encounter was filmed, Olivia tries to lay low and hopes the whole thing blows over until she receives a call from a television producer saying that a popular network wants to capitalize on the viral video of Olivia and Chuck and feature them both on a new tv show called Name Your Price. The premise of the show is that Olivia and Chuck will have to live in a house together for a month and will be filmed 24/7. The rules of the show are that if they can go one month of living together without either party killing the other then they both will win a million dollars.

Seems simple enough until Olivia and Chuck realize they will be in forced proximity to each other with nowhere else to go. Passionate feelings start to resurface which would be okay in normal circumstances, but they are told after they enter the house that if they touch on another then they will lose money from their one-million-dollar prize. What could possibly go wrong?

I can definitely see why this book would be appealing to rom-com and reality show lovers alike. The premise of the show is entirely the plot of the Netflix series “Too Hot to Handle,” in which the contestants are put into a house and are pushed to make connections, but ultimately docked money away from the grand prize for any form of affection. Olivia and Chuck were up to several antics in the book that give off early 2000’s rom-com vibes. Personally, I would have loved to get part of the story from Chuck’s perspective because while Olivia had her own battles she needed to face, I would have loved to read about Chuck’s internal struggles and not be told through a secondhand account from Olivia.

There were sweet and tender moments from flashback accounts told by Olivia that could have been used more throughout the book to show that Olivia and Chuck had much more than just a physical relationship.
With the story only being told from Olivia’s perspective I felt somewhat unattached to the book at times only because I felt Chuck’s character was more compelling. Olivia was able to have her conflict resolved but Chuck was given the short end of the stick in what seemed like a majority of the book. Sure, he had his faults, but Olivia was just as bad and seemed to not take accountability for it and primarily blamed her parents for the way she was, which in my opinion is not really an excuse considering that the characters are in their 30’s. I can see where she was coming from at times because she didn’t have any answers as to who her parents were, but at the same time no questions were asked until close to the final act of the book.

Ultimately it was a nice, quick read with cute moments. I’m curious to see more of this author’s writing style and what she has in store.

Two broke exes have a very public break up and join a reality tv show to win a million dollars. The tension is high and the show keeps throwing challenges at them. But do they make it??
