Loved this! I usually always enjoy a katee Robert book. This was so much fun. The spice was perfect & sapphic vampires & pirateering? ! PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT. This book was fast paced & I loved the plus size rep. Parts of the book fell flat for me that’s why i couldn’t give it five stars but it’s an overall great read and will recommend.
I was bored 100% of the time. Too many thoughts on pages.
This is the last spicy book I've read by Katee Robert and I'm disappointed. Let the ladies liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!
Sapphic romantasy? Say no more! Truly such a fun time, and I think this was better than the first book in the series. I can't wait to listen to this on audio!!!
"This sickness inside me, this feeling that's both giddy and dread, can only be one thing: love. What a fucking disaster."
This book was so much fun to read. It’s about vampires, and pirates and it’s sapphic, what more can you asked for. Oh I know a story that is captivating. the fast paced plot kept me on the edge of my seat. While i did not read the first book I was still able to follow along. It was so good. I'm going to read Hunt On Dark Water then come back to book and read it again. Can't wait for the third book
This book was quick and satisfying to read! I really liked having Lizzie as a main character and seeing the world from her perspective, even though I would’ve wanted more conversations about her family or a confrontation of some sort with them. Maeve was a very cool character and I really enjoyed getting to know her. It was definitely not my favourite Katee Robert book, but I don’t think they can write a bad book so it was still very satisfying!
This book was so good! I loved the relationship between the FMC and MMC. The banter and the spice do not disappoint! I love Katee Robert books but this is now my new favorite!
Blood on the Tide is the second book of the Crimson Tides series. This book picks up where the first, Hunt on Dark Waters left off. Lizzie is off at sea with the crew of the Audacity. The fearsome vampire is on the hunt for the family jewels that were stolen and then lost by her former flame. The captain refuses her request to hunt the ship that carries the heirlooms, so Lizzie must strike out on her own. She finds an ally and more in the selkie, Maeve. Lots of fast-paced adventure makes for a quick read. It's great to dive deeper into the world of Threshold. Robert teases just enough to keep readers coming back for more.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley for the advance copy of the e-book in exchange for a fair review.
This book had me at sapphic vampires. This is a good fun time, though not my favorite from Roberts. Her books are just always easy quick reads and I appreciate that about them
I can absolutely see why Katee Roberts is a favorite of many of the people whose book opinions I trust most. She’s been on my list to read forever! She’s an excellent author who comes up with a great premise and knows how to deliver. Witches, vampires, pirates, other dimensions, I’m sold!
Solid 3.5 stars
This book fell a bit short compared the the first one, but i still found it a solid read. Lizzie is an incredibly fascinating character and Katee Roberts does an incredibly good job of fleshing out her motivations and the depth in her character in an incredibly succinct way. Maeve and Lizzie have a surprisingly sweet relationship and I like how they even each other out.
I would say I wish Katee explored more of the Threshold portion of the book more. The portals and the Cwn Annwn were a much larger part of the first book, and while this book does dabble in the resistance and does some island hopping, this book could have been set in any ocean scape with some weird islands. The Threshold world was built so well in the first book, and this one doesn't really capitalize on all the nuances the world brings. Also Lizzie's reasons on why she needs the heirlooms so badly is never fully fleshed out, and so I never fully understood her motivations.
Overall a solid read if you're looking for a quick sea-faring romance. Full review to come on my blog.

Overall the Crimson Tides series is an accessible entrance into the romantasy genre for readers who prefer the spicy romance side of romantasy and don't want to expend much energy on slogging through dense worldbuilding.
Blood on the Tide is better than the first book in the series. The relationship progression between Maeve and Lizzie feels unforced - natural and steady, despite the pressures surrounding them. The book delivers on what readers want from Katee Roberts in general - smoking hot intimate scenes unfolding in a world filled with magic.
Like the first book in the series, the world of Threshold is diverse and inclusive. There are a wide range of LGBTQ characters throughout the book, and the central romance is a steamy sapphic romance.
While I don't count this series among my favorites, I enjoyed this book, and I think others will, as well.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing an eARC for me to review.
Katee Robert's always kills it, they have been a buy now author of mine for years now, and I love that they never stop or mind trying new things.
I love the world she creates and the characters that pull you in, I come for her name but stay for the chaos and feelings
I ate this book up! I was so blown away! The spice is beyond amazing and jaw dropping. After book 1 I needed this second book more than anything and I was not disappointed in the least. I've loved all of Robert's books but I have to say that this has to be my favorite by far!
Thank you to netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group | Berkley for allowing me to read this book. I really enjoyed the book
This is the story of Lizzie and Maeve. Lizzie is a vampire, still looking for her family’s jewels. Maeve, is a Selkie looking for her stolen skin. Lizzie and Maeve embark in a journey to retrieve what is theirs. You will meet new creatures, lands and ships within Threshold and Cŵn Annwn.
This book spicks up where book 1 ended. However, you can reas it without reading book 1. Reading Hunt on Dark Waters will benefit you to have a better understanding of the world and the characters, but, it’s not completely necessary to read Blood on The Tide.
I liked the chemistry between Lizzie and Maeve, as well as representation and diversity. I enjoyed book 1 more than this one. It was slow at times, where it felt like if I skipped a couple of pages I would not be missing much. Though it was entertaining at times, I wasn’t fully invested in the story, and even thought about not finishing it at one point. I don’t think I’ll be picking up book 3 in the series.
2.75, rounding to 3 stars.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC, in exchange for my honest review.
I received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Not as interesting in my opinion as book one I feel like this book focused a lot more on the two female main characters, feelings for each other that they were not subtle about but somehow both didn’t understand that they liked each other that much. It honestly just kinda annoyed me. I feel like I would’ve preferred more of a focus on the plot line with little sprinklings of their emerging relationship. It feels very Insta-love and I’m also not a big fan of vampires in general so that’s like two negatives right off the bat for me. The spicy scenes were still very well done as per usual for this author however, this is definitely not my favorite series so far by them.
Katee Robert doesn't miss ever!!
This is book 2 in the crimson tide series and is an adventurous sapphic fantasy romance with vampires, selkies, pirates, sea monsters, and so much more. In this book, we follow along the story of Lizzie. She is a vampire that fell through a portal to another realm and lost a few family heirlooms in the process. Lizzie has been on a mission to find these heirlooms and get back to her portal home. She then meets Maeve, who is a selkie. They quickly realize they can help each other out in a lot of ways and the story takes off from there.
I felt as though the plot was fun and of course, the spice was amazing. Overall, my rating was 3.75/4 out of 5 stars. It was a super entertaining and quick read. I enjoyed it!
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this arc!!
Book 2 in the series. While it could be read as a standalone it’s a good continuation of book 1. Vampires, Selkies, a dangerous for partnership and so much more.
.
I Huge thank you to @berkleypub @berittalksbooks @thephdivabooks @dg_reads and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
A solid follow up to Dark Waters! The story really flushes out the prickly vampire character and gives us a steamy, queer, forced proximity love story. The world of Threshold just keeps getting more exciting!
I really enjoyed this one, considering the first in this series features Lizzie (protagonist in Blood on the Tide) as a terrifying, cold blooded killing machine. Don't get me wrong - she totally is! But, she also has feelings, as can be seen in her relationship with Maeve. Enjoyable and sexy - classic Katee Robert!
