Thank you, NetGalley and Gallery books for this ARC!. I love these authors and this book did not disappoint. I especially love the tropical setting and the silly banter between the two main characters Anna and Liam. This was a perfect beach read for summer. I love how well the characters were developed and written, and I could definitely relate to each of them. This was such a wonderful story and a great plot and ending. I couldn’t even guess how the story was going to come together. I would highly recommend this adorable romcom to everyone
this was SO freaking good just AHHH. The fake marriage of convenience, tropical island setting, slow burn, opposites attract was everything. The horrendous family we watch the characters deal with is hard to read at times and it made me proud watching our FMC and MMC deal with it and grow. Did I mention this is dual POV? 11/10 recommend!
Christina Lauren delivers again in this dual POV love story. Lauren has the recipe down and knows how to deliver lovable characters. I absolutely flew through this adorable summer romance read. Everyone should add it to their Lauren List.

I had been in a reading slump until I picked up my ARC of The Paradise Problem. I finished it in a (busy) weekend and I'm still thinking of how much I loved it!
Anna marries Liam "West" Weston in college so that they can both qualify for cheap family housing. It's a win/win for her at the time - cheap housing and a tidy roommate she doesn't see much of. When he moves out, she thinks they're divorced. Several years later he contacts her to let her know he has one problem - his grandfather's will stipulates that he had to be married for five years, so they never divorced. His sister is getting married in paradise and he needs his bride to attend. Only, Anna is not a med student like she was five years before, but a struggling artist. Everything Liam has told his family has been about how Anna is a med student.
The Westons were truly one of the worst families I've ever read about in a book - until the redemption arc in the epilogue. I was happy for the epilogue because i initially felt the ending was a bit rushed. The epilogue gives us a nice peek into the future and I was cheering for Anna and Liam!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC.
I absolutely loved The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren. It felt like a perfect mix between the fun/lightheartedness/witty banter of The Unhoneymooners and more in-depth characters, which was always one of things I loved about their back list (Josh and Hazel, My Favorite Half-Night Stand, Roomies … all of which I loved).
I wanted to be friends with Anna. She was strong, and confident in herself and her choices. I adored Liam ‘West’ Weston. The “fake dating/marriage” was chefs kiss. The setting was perfect, I could picture everything happening so clearly. The whole thing made me remember how much I love CLo and their ability to write these novels and characters. This is one I would definitely read again, maybe via audio!
Thank you Gallery and Netgalley for this eARC to read and review.
You’re going to want to add The Paradise Problem to your May tbr! This writing duo is a hit every single time!

This was a cute, romantic, and funny story about Anna and Lain’s marriage of convenience. Liam and Anna are from completely different backgrounds. Liam’s family is rich rich (and not in a good way) and Anna is struggling to make ends meet.
When these two have a fake marriage to help with housing during college, 3 years later and their “marriage” is still official. These two have to fake a marriage and convince Liam’s family it’s the real deal.

🌺marriage of convenience
🌺opposites attract
🌺grumpy x sunshine
🌺tropical setting

This book is a bit of a slow burn but the funny moments make it read so quickly. I really enjoyed it!

Thank you netgalley and Gallery books for the opportunity to read The Paradise Problem!
4,5 stars rounded up for Goodreads. Thank you Netgalley and Gallery Books for my gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Only my second book by Lauren, this one had me holding on to every word! Anna and Liam get married in college in order to be placed into affordable housing. Even though they live together, there is little interaction between them and eventually they part ways. Anna is a hot mess and while there was a contract, she did not read it, lol. Fast forward 5 years and Liam is back, they are still married and he needs her to attend a family wedding in order to secure an inheritance.
This book, you guys! It was hilarious from the beginning. I don't think i could love Anna more. She is so real and raw and honestly enjoys life. She is a breath of fresh air for the buttoned up and stuffy Liam. The slow burn attraction between the two is intense and the end results are HOT and worth the wait. The Paradise Problem has it all with fake dating, forced proximity, family drama, and billionaire romance. This is the perfect beach read!
This book just became my new favorite Christina Lauren book! I could reread this one every summer. This book is full of complex characters and layered issues. You have two main characters who have lived completely different lives, yet come together in the perfect way. For all of those who love the “touch her and you ☠️” trope, this book is perfect. Not to mention the villain of this story was perfection. I found myself quite literally wanting to drop kick that man onto another planet. There was complicated family drama that really I creased the emotional stakes and I was constantly begging for more. I loved this new take on the Pretty Woman story and really was rooting for Anna and Liam. I couldn’t think of a better character to share a name with 🫶🏻
This is Christina Lauren at their best. The banter is top-notch, the steam is recipe perfection and the pacing was on point. Loved it!
"The Paradise Problem" by Christina Lauren is a smashing hit from my favorite author duo. Every time I read a new book from them, it instantly became my new favorite, and this book was no exception. From its intriguing prologue to its delightful exploration of a marriage of convenience, this book delivers an enchanting story that keeps readers hooked until the last page.
These authors are master storytellers. They blend romance, intrigue, and humor seamlessly. The initial setup of a fake marriage for financial gain could have easily felt clichéd. However, how they wrote these engaging characters and the dialogue breathed new life into this plotline. I was hooked from the first chapter, and with each page, I was drawn more deeply into the story. The dynamics between Anna and West are heartwarming and complex; readers are taken on an emotional rollercoaster filled with moments of laughter, longing, and love.
"The Paradise Problem" is a great summer read that combines romance, humor, and heart in a truly captivating way. It will leave you smiling long after you've turned the final page. It's a must-have for any book collection. Happy reading, and enjoy!
When Anna and Liam come up with a unique solution to the California housing market, they didn't realize that they'd altered their lives forever. After college, Anna and Liam go their separate ways but acts of desperation bring them back together. They must maintain a ruse of married love in order for Liam to inherit millions of dollars. Of course real love ensues. While a somewhat trite set-up and plot, the characters are what makes this book worth reading. The dynamic author duo gets humor and relationships to a tee and you don't even care if you can't relate to millionaire problems.
Three years after she thought she got divorced from a sham marriage to access student housing for couples, Anna's not-ex-husband, West, shows up on her doorstep begging her to attend his sister's wedding as his wife so he can access his inheritance. It turns out she doesn't know much about the man she married, discovering he's heir to a grocery store empire ...and they never got divorced. But she's a starving artist, and he needs her to access millions of dollars, so who is she to say know to playing the high society wife at a gorgeous resort in paradise for a few days?
This book has a stellar first chapter (really, more of a prologue) which left me intrigued and wanting more. Then it shifted into more traditional marriage-of-convenience territory that made me concerned this book would be run-of-the-mill and possibly even pedestrian. But boy was I glad to be proven wrong! With each new chapter, a new twist and turn arises, and I found myself enjoying the story of West and his family (and Anna's acclimation to luxury goods) as enchanting as their romance. I ended up loving this book by the end and can confirm it makes as excellent a summer read as its cover suggests.

THOUGHTS // RATING EXPLAINED:
Anna & Liam’s love story made me giggle! 🤭 Anna was an extra quirky & unique FMC- loved her. But danggg, was this book a slow burn. I think I am in the minority with my rating! 😯 I have seen some great reviews, but this one wasn’t my fav for a couple of reasons. It was lot of “rich people acting like rich people” aka Liam’s family was the worst lol. At one point, it felt like that’s all the book was about. 🙃 The chemistry between Anna & Liam sparked in the beginning, but didn’t develop much as the story went on? There was a ton of business-y dialogue and family events. 🥱 While this book has the BEST cover, the private island setting felt like a missed opportunity— very little island/summer activities. 🌺 The epilogue was also weirdly drawn out & long? It wasn’t a bad book by any means! It just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Am I still planning on reading Tangled Up In You by them soon? Yes, yes I am 😌

This is a fun and perfect chick lit beach read! What a great way to start the season!
“I’m your ride or die Wes Weston!” Anna Green marries Liam-Wes in order for Anna to qualify for cheap college housing. There is little to no relationship between the two until later in life when the marriage comes under the microscope.
Liam-Wes must be married for 5 years in order to qualify for his inheritance. Can Anna help him pull off this relationship under the scrutiny of his rich family? That remains to be seen when all of the characters travel to a private island for a family wedding. The premise presents many laugh out loud moments as they negotiate their way through the scrutiny.
Both Anna and Liam are fun and lovable as they proceed on a slippery slope! The side characters are exceptionally written and definitely lend to an entertaining story. A great rom-com with a very satisfying and unpredictable ending!
I loved this book! It had all the best tropes and the best banter. I loved the characters and felt super invested in their story.
This duo can do no wrong in my book!! This book centers around Anna, a starving artist that just lost her steady job. She gets a spontaneous visit from her ex husband. But she knows little about her ex-husband, “West. “She married him for subsidized housing in college and then they went on their separate ways. Well, she thinks. Actually, they’ve been married this whole time in order for “West” to get his inheritance. Now, years later, he’s back in the picture asking her Anna to attend his sister’s lavish destination wedding with him to “sell” the marriage.
This is a laugh-out loud, steamy but adorable romcom. It took me a bit to be interested in either character but then I was HOOKED! The atmospheric vacation vibe was spot on. I was on vacation when I read this and even I was like “I want to be on this island with all these perks immediately.” I loved seeing Anna’s character bloom with confidence and getting to see West come out of his shell. And their whirlwind romance 🥰 4.5 stars!
Thank you @christinalauren @gallerybooks #partner @netgalley!
I was so excited to get my hands on this book a few weeks before the release! Fake marriage trope is one of my favorites in a rom com. If you liked Crazy Rich Asians, Succession or White Lotus (minus the murder) this book will be for you.
Paradise Problem was such an enjoyable read. I found myself not being able to put it down. Anne is such a likable FMC. She’s spunky, funny and never apologizes who she is or how she was brought up. The chemistry and slow burn between her and Liam was just the perfect amount. Anne and Liam are the complete opposite of one another and that is why they work so well. And yes girl if a man that look like and acted like Liam asked me to go on a Paradise vacation to be his pretend wife I wouldn’t have said no either.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of this novel. This book is paradise! You will be come invested in the characters in the first chapter and you will grow to love them as they grow and learn about themselves. It is the perfect beach read that leaves you smiling inside and out. Christina Lauren is a master of creativing fun, stories that have just enough suspense to keep you reading way past bedtime! Enjoy!
This was fun but Christina and Lauren continue to be a hit or miss author duo for me and this one was very close to a miss. It had all the elements I enjoy but for some reason it just didn’t click for me. This could be in part because it came in not long after me reading their other upcoming release, Tangled Up in You, which I absolutely loved.
A rom com with alternating pov, fake dating, and perhaps the worlds only ethical millionaire, what else could you ask for? Our main characters are so well rounded and interesting as people with clear faults and just beautifully developed. I loved this quick witty romance with just the right amount of spice.
