Christina Lauren did it again. This is one my favorite books by her. I laughed out loud so many times. These two have been married for 5 years but they're complete strangers when they have to join their family and make them believe they are actually happily married. Can they do it when their lives are so very different? Excellent read for sure!
As always, Christina Lauren delivers a fun, romantic comedy with a lot of heart. I enjoyed the characters!
Outstanding book I loved it so much The characters were so easy to love and the plot was very good. you will need to read it to find out what happens.
What happens when you actually get to know your fake spouse? Anna and West 'married' in college to live in family housing. Once they graduated they went their separate ways and Anna thought they were divorced. But West needed to be married for 5 years in order to receive his inheritance and he never filed the papers. Now he needs his wife for a family wedding. Anna is shocked but agrees to play his loving wife because her life is at a cross-road. As they spend time together in paradise they discover that they actually like each other and maybe even like like each other. But will the secret they are keeping destroy everything? This was a fun and enjoyable read and I loved watching Anna and West together.
Sadly, i could not get into this book. No worries, didn’t books satisfy different people! That’s the beauty of reading.
Thank you, Christina Lauren, Gallery Books, and NetGalley for this eARC! While this was not my favorite of their books, it was still fun to read.
A fun summer read. This book will leave you thinking about life experiences. A really good read that will make you have fond memories of love and summer.
I found this to be just okay. Forgettable. Not quite funny enough to make me love it and Liam was too much of a pushover. I did like Anna and how she didn’t care what others thought of her. I liked her responses to Liam’s family. The trust rules seemed really convoluted for a grandfather that supposedly loved his grandkids so much.
I love every Christina Lauren book and The Paradise Problem is a stellar addition to their collection. The marriage of convenience/fake relationship trope is well done. Anna and Liam are greatly flawed, relatable characters. The exotic wedding seems so outlandish, yet Liam's indifference to his family's extravagance makes the whole seem not quite so ridiculous. I am here for the spice factor, and of course, the HEA.
Loved THE PARADISE PROBLEM! Silly and lovable characters and situations that Christina Lauren do so well. Amazing island vibes. Growth that felt realistic! Loved rooting for these two.
I absolutely abhorred Liam's rich family but couldn't look away from their train wreck either! Poor Anna, being thrust into that because Liam made a mistake and never filled from their sham marriage.
I thought though that she held up pretty well under the circumstances placed on her at his sister's island wedding.
I loved Anna's reason for being the money that Liam would be offering... To take care of her dad in his medical needs after he was always there for her as the single parent.
I loved the descriptions of the island. I had a blast when these two finally gave into a physical relationship... They got pretty wild/hot and heavy super quick.
I laughed at what happens to Liam's horrid dad at the end.... The comeuppance is pretty sweet for people who behave how he did!
Another fun romance from Christina Lauren! I enjoyed this one especially because I'm honeymooning in Fiji in a couple of months, so the paradise setting was a fun "preview." The drama of the family was over the top, though.
This book was so fun, funny and heartfelt. I absolutely adored Anna. The way that Anna is so herself and is such a warm and supportive person to so many made me root for her so easily. Liam was so awkwardly adorable at first and then grew into a total heartthrob. The banter and ridiculousness of some of the plot just made this so fun and funny. I also enjoyed the deeper themes of how love can really help us get through anything. I definitely recommend this. Another hit from Christina and Lauren, I’m not surprised.
Thank you to everyone for this gifted copy of The Paradise Problem!
Christina Lauren knows how to write a fun, captivating romance book, and they never seem to fail. This book is the perfect read for anyone who loves fake dating, messy rich families or Pretty Woman.
I loved both Anna and Liam as characters and found them to be honest, and have some depth to them. I’m not going to lie, some of this books was a bit too spicy for me (and spicer than I remember their other books being), but I binged over half of this book in just a few hours.
I could not put this book down. All three of us adored every word of this book and it’s one that’s going to live rent free in our heads for eternity. The laughs, the sweet moments, all of it. Perfect!
Christina Lauren's books are always such a fun time, and The Paradise Problem is no different. In order to get cheaper student housing, free-spirited Anna Green agrees to marry Liam "West" Weston, the heir to a grocery chain, while they both attend UCLA. Their marriage was supposed to end at graduation, but after it is discovered their divorce was never finalized, the two must now fake their relationship so that Liam is able to receive a massive inheritance. As the two attend Liam's sister's wedding on a tropical island, they must play the part of happily married couple and avoid anyone finding out their secret. I think this might be my new favorite Christina Lauren book. The tropical setting made this the perfect summer read. I found Anna to be such a funny character, and Liam was such a swoony love interest. Getting to read these two fall in love as they get to know each other was such a pleasure to read. I definitely appreciated the slow burn pace of their love story. Anna and Liam had insane chemistry and I was really rooting for them to work it out in the end. While the book was a fun summer romance, it did touch on some serious topics such as toxic family dynamics and economic insecurity. I also appreciated how it handled the billionaire trope. I highly recommend for anyone in need of a fun summer read or romance readers who enjoy fake-dating, marriage-of-convenience, opposites-attract tropes and appreciates a good slow burn.
This was a ton of fun -- great banter, lots of yearning, and a healthy dose of toxic family drama to boot.
I absolutely love Christina Lauren. This one was so good I loved the romance and the rich people drama. I loved the marriage of convenience and then the fake dating all rolled into one.
I'm not sure anything will ever top the dialogue of the Unhoneymooners, but this was an engaging rom-com from start to finish. I felt like the plot had been done before in a movie I can't remember the name of, but I enjoyed the characters and how the authors added their personal twist to the book.
Anna Green has just been fired from her gas station attendant job for stealing a pack of gum. Wallowing in debt from her father's medical bills and feeling unfulfilled in her artwork, she's at wits end. Things get way more complicated when her ex, Liam "West" Weston shows up after years of silence and states that they're still legally married. He then gives her an offer she can't refuse: pose as his still lawfully wedded wife at his sister's destination wedding and he will give her more money than she can ever fathom.
Glitzy and Fun, this is a nice Tropical read.
Thanks to the publisher for a eARC to read!
What a fun book this was! Christina Lauren just keep getting better with their books and I flew through this one. The Problem in the title is that West (aka Liam) is about to get access to the inheritance from his grandfather after a five-year pseudo-marriage to Anna, which she didn't even know was still a thing, AND has to attend his sister's wedding on a private island with Anna in tow. I loved watching Anna and West grow personally and together in the midst of pretending to be happily married and the banter between them was great. If I had one tiny quibble it would be that I would've liked a tiny bit more development from West just a tiny bit earlier so that I could like him as much as I loved Anna. Huge thank you to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the early access in exchange for my honest opinion. 4.5 stars
