This is classic Christina Lauren in all the best ways! A romantic comedy with heart and depth and plenty of outlandish scenarios. I caught myself smiling through the pages. You definitely have to suspend some disbelief in the beginning and just get on board with the 'fake marriage to get an inheritance' scenario, but if you can do that you will be rewarded!

This was fine. Anna was a little manic-pixie-dream-girl for me, but whatever. I mostly just didn't buy that none of the siblings had actually bothered to read the will. This is fun and tropey but suspend your disbelief.

Anna is an artist who is living paycheck to paycheck and just got canned from her convenience store job. Then, her “ex-husband”, who she married for free housing in college, shows up at her door and says they’re actually still married and he will pay her $100,000 to pretend to be his wife at his sister’s wedding. Finding out his family started a chain of popular grocery stores, Anna is thrown into their wealth and obscenity. As Liam and Anna get to know each other on the two week trip to a private island for the wedding, emotions rise and family dynamics threaten to break everyone apart.

💭Thoughts💭
This could have been such a good book if it wasn’t for the horrible writing. It was such a cool premise and definitely held my attention but I couldn’t get over certain lines from Anna. “I'm sorry to see him leave but allow myself the pleasure of watching him go. Whew, dat ass.” As well as : “Are you shitting my dick right now?” It felt like it was written by a teenager.

The island setting sounded so gorgeous and peaceful, if it wasn’t for the Weston family. I liked the spa scene and loved the chemistry between Anna and Liam.

Take some canvases and paintbrushes and paint like Anna! She loved painting flowers especially ranunculas and freesias.

I loved this one! Christina Lauren back in their finest form. I especially appreciate how each of their leading characters in their respective books (especially the females) are not carbon copies of each other. They truly find completely new personalities and quirks and speech patterns, and it makes for a new and delightful experience with each book they publish. Also, this one made me desperately want to go to a tropical island somewhere. LOVED!

This is definitely another winner from Christina Lauren, I loved this book!
The is over the top family drama. Anna agrees to being a pretend wife for Liam in order for him to cash in on his inheritance. In the most witty and engaging way we are treated to toxic father/son relationships as well as intense sibling rivalry. Anna’s humble living situation clashes with Liam’s opulent upbringing in the most hilarious ways. And of course we are along for the ride of Anna and Liam’ budding romantic relationship.
Perfect summer read.

A fun, easy read- the protagonists are enjoyable characters who are easy to for cheer for. The story is told by two narrators, and the back and forth narration keeps the book moving well. I was invested quickly and had trouble putting it down! Definitely enjoyed this read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Gallery Books (Simon & Schuster) for this digital ARC!

I love a good marriage of convenience, and it’s always interesting to see how contemporary authors manage to contrive one. In this case it’s an effort to claim an inheritance that requires buttoned up professor Liam to marry artist Anna. Shades of Crazy Rich Asians, but with more entitled white people. Anna and Liam are a well balanced match and their chemistry burns through the book.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for the ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

CUTE! A fake dating/marriage trope masterpiece. Christina Lauren does it again, ladies and gents.
I was lucky to receive an arc of “paradise problems” and really enjoyed it. Anna had me laughing, Liam had me swooning, and the entire Weston family had me wanting to pull my hair out. This story was simply adorable and a little steamy - who doesn’t love that?
4⭐️

This is the best RomCom of 2024. The laughs in which I laughed, the tears that I teared, the smiles that I smiled, UNMATCHED. This is my new favorite from Christina Lauren, and I think it’ll become yours too!
West & Anna were married for…shall we say…less than genuine reasons when they were in college. Anna believed they’d been divorced since, but when West shows up at her door asking his wife for a favor, she realizes she was wrong.
Mark your calendars, you’ll want to run to the bookstore on pub day. I would 1000% recommend this read, and I’ll be gushing about it for the rest of the year.
Thank you to the publisher for the gifted (free) ARC!

CHRISTINA LAUREN DOES IT AGAIN. I was hooked from the start and I knew I would be because I love this Author duo and their books. I cannot wait for this book to be published so that I can share it with my patrons at the library!

The sexual tension in this book is real! I truly enjoyed reading about Liam and Anna as they slowly fall in love while navigating their past traumas, feelings for eachother, and Liam's absolutely horrible family. I seriously could not put this book down from the moment I started reading! Christina Lauren knows how to write a suspenseful romance where you are deeply connected to the main characters. This is definitely one I would recommend to others.

My first true Christina Lauren book (besides The Exception to the Rule short story) & I now totally understand why they’re such a dynamic duo!
The beginning felt like such a hot funny mess that I knew I was in for a rollercoaster of a ride!
I loved Anna’s character, she was SO unhinged, quirky, funny & vulnerable - Liam caught my heart & I was rooting for them from the start
The banter had me laughing out loud, the family dynamic/drama I was all here for & the chemistry between Anna & Liam was so genuine & adorable that it all worked SO well
The setting was beautifully described & it truly felt like I was in paradise. I will not be surprised if this one becomes a beach read fave 🌺
I will say, that I am more of a closed-door romance girlie (but can respect a few scenes here & there) but this one was a few scenes too spicy 😅 which took away from the story at times (in my opinion) - so to all my spice loving girlies, you’ll love this one
Overall, I had such a fun time reading & can’t wait to continue reading more of their books! 4-4.5 stars from me!

I loved this book SO much!! The fake dating trope was so well done and I loved every second of it. I was kicking my feet & giddy with Anna & Liam.

Christina Lauren does it again! I settled down to read another lovely romance and then ended up weeping because of the deepness of the story. Fake dating/marriage is one of my favorites so I knew I would love this one. But the family plot was really compelling. The dad is such a piece of work. I really loved the relationship between Anna and Liam.

I ADORED this new novel by Christina Lauren! The main characters were layered, the problems realistic, and the laughter uproarious! I found myself giggling out loud so many times. I love a fake marriage trope, and this one did not disappoint! I rooted for Liam and Anna the whole way, and I loved that I didn't know exactly how the conflict would resolve. It *might* be my favorite CLo book to date! I can't wait to read it again this summer when I'm on the beach!

If you're looking for a quick, easy read for spring/summer this is the perfect one! Anna is a quirky artist struggling to pay her bills while taking care of her father, and Liam is son to a rich, controlling father (probably an understatment) trying to find his own way. They both meet in college and enter a marriage of convenience. 4ish years later Liam needs Anna's help to be his wedding date and sell his family on the fact that they are in a loving marriage, then all the family drama insues.
Overall this book was super cute and quick read. I enjoyed the characters. Anna is quick and witty with no filter, and Liam is more reserved but caring and kind. They were a great match and made for an entertaining read! This book contains a lot of pop culture references that might not suit all readers, but overall I really enjoyed it. I found myself truly invested in the story and fell in love with these characters. Would recommend to any romcom lovers!

THE PARADISE PROBLEM is a fantastic, hilarious literary romp. It has a lot of the joy and humor I felt in THE HONEYMOONERS with some of the deeper, serious undertones in LOVE AND OTHER WORDS. I adore the two MCs: Anna and Liam are doing the best in the best way they know. A marriage of convenience that quickly transforms into more, Anna and Liam discover so much about themselves and each other. I laughed out loud several times, but also got so nervous when THINGS occurred. (An audible gasp definitely happened.) This is Christina Lauren at their best - that is for sure.

This book was absolutely darling! I am a huge fan of The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren. This story had the same playful energy, but with even better character development. I thought the premise was unique. I loved the Weston family dynamics and I found the monetary conflicts intriguing. Truly all the best parts of a rom com! The only reason I did not give this book five stars was because of the last 20% of the book. I struggle to stay invested during a third act break up, and it felt like the resolution dragged a bit. That being said, I still devoured this book in less than 24 hours and will be recommending it to my bookish friends & fellow romance fiends.

Anna Green and Liam “West” Weston get married in college to take advantage of cheap family housing. After two years, they go their separate ways, but three years later Liam needs Anna to play the loving wife to convince his family that he’s still happily married at his sister’s wedding on a private island.
Christina Lauren never disappoint. Anna and Liam have wonderful chemistry and swoon-worthy moments. I loved Anna’s character and was rooting for her throughout. Blaire was definitely my favorite side character, and I enjoyed her frequent comic relief.
I appreciated the extended epilogue because there were quite a few loose ends that needed wrapping up, but the pacing would have been thrown off if they were answered within the story itself.

This is the story of Anna and Liam who married five years ago to get subsidized housing. Anna thought they were divorced until Liam shows up, saying they are still legally married and he needs Anna to go with him to his sister's lavish wedding on a private tropical island.
I loved the tropical island setting. It was vividly described and I felt like I was there. I also loved Anna's character. Even though she was putting on an act for Liam's family, she still stayed true to herself at times. The banter between Liam and Anna was great! Many times I laughed out loud at some of the dialogue.
I will say that though I don't mind sex scenes I thought there were a few too many.
I loved the ending! It was a bit of a surprise! I wasn't sure what was going to happen!
Over all CL has once again delivered an entertaining book that will allow you to escape to a tropical island! Highly recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
