I have read every book before this one in the series and lived them. This one had me on the edge of my seat. I love everything from the characters to the storyline In this series
This is the eleventh book in the series featuring Detective Morgan Brookes and are set in the Lake District. Morgan and her team are called out to investigate the disappearance of a teenage girl. Her mother Natalie had arrived home to find her missing and blood all over the front door. When Morgan arrives she recognises Natalie and realises that her and Lexie survived a killer three years previously thanks to her intervention. Lexie’s body is discovered and Morgan soon realises that she was part of a group of women who had survived death. Morgan calls a meeting of the group in the church hall but when the killer tries to burn it down with them inside she realises that she is also a target as she has survived so many of these situations. This is another fast paced, gripping read, full of likeable characters with plenty of twists and turns. I look forward to book number twelve.
Thanks toNetgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book,

Save Her Twice by Helen Phifer follows Detective Morgan Brookes as she hunts down a killer targeting the 'Final Girls', survivors of previous attacks.
I read this while on a work trip and it was hard to put down and actually complete my work! It was fast paced, and the clues kept me guessing to the end. I have read Helen Phifers work before and will definitely be reading more!
Great book, love the characters and the storyline. A real page turner that I read in one sitting. Loved everything about it. Five stars!
Thanks for NetGalley and Helen Phifer for offering this ARC in exchange my review.
In this book, Helen Phifer delivers a pulse-pounding narrative that grips readers from the very first page. It is a heart-stopping thriller that combines mystery and psychological depth in a masterful way. Helen Phifer’s ability to weave complex characters into an engaging plot ensures that you will not only be entertained but also left pondering the intricacies of human relationships long after they turn the last page. For fans of crime fiction and psychological thrillers, you must read this book. With a perfect blend of suspense, emotional richness, and unexpected twists, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommen.
Helen Phifer is always a "must read" author for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So sorry I am late with my review!
It was fast-paced and there were plenty of nail biting moments. I can't even imagine what it might be like to save someone from a serial killer and then discover they have fallen prey to another killer several years later. Of course, Morgan herself is in danger as well.....
A lot of clues to unravel and even though it is part of the thrill of reading a book like this, part of me was too scared to turn the pages of my Kindle! A good kind of scared, though :)
5 stars from me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.
Thank you NetGalley for this advance reader copy in exchange for my free and honest review. I absolutely adore all of Helen Phifer’s novels. The characters are so genuine, readers feel like they know them and can relate to them. Then there’s the story lines. All fully detailed, believable and compelling. Every book I read by this author gets better and better.
Dear sweet Morgan, oh how you give me heart failure in every single book!!
Morgan is on the hunt to find a killer - one that is hunting the last girls, all girls who have survived a previous run in with a murderer.
Can she find the killer before he gets to her?
Such a good read!
This is the 11th book in the series. This series is unbelievably good. I love the way Helen writes. The ending was absolutely brilliant and made the book for me. The pace was fast and tense. I couldnt put the book down.
Book eleven featuring Detective Morgan Brookes. This time she is tracking a killer who is targeting survivors, gritty and disturbing.
Helen Phifer is a genius. This is another brilliant instalment to the series. I cannot believe that we are on Morgan book 11. I still can’t get enough of her.
This is is a book that see’s us revisit Lexie, a woman Lexie saved a few years ago. This is sadistic and completely gripping from the very beginning.
Phifer writes a cracking story and this is another gem for the collection. Morgan is a brilliant character and this book sees some of the victims she’s saved previously attacked.
This book is addictive and brilliant. I was pulled in instantly and unwilling to put this down. Phifer is an author who gets better and better with every book. I already cannot wait to see what’s coming next from Phifer.
This is another brilliant book by a brilliant author. I highly recommend.

I really loved this book. The whole idea of bringing back characters from earlier books and have them hunted by another killer was genius. Like Morgan I was devastated to read of Lexi's murder. This has to be Morgan's worst case. She always empathises with the families of the victim but knowing that these people had fought for their lives the first time only to find themselves at risk again hits her really hard. This book had me breathless and in need of a good nail technician to deal with the stumps I had bitten down to the quick. The identity of the killer left me reeling, just what you want from a good crime story. Definitely worthy of 5 stars..
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book
Book Eleven is another fantastic edition that see's Morgan at the the thick of a murderer intent of hunting down survivors whose might not be so lucky second time around, the irony of this is that Morgan is a survivor herself so is her name on the hit list too? only one way to find out the Morgan way.
Book Eleven in the gripping and addictive Morgan Brookes series. i've been a follower of the series since the beginning it's fast paced, dramatic, intense, action packed it has it all.
This is one of my favourite police procedural series, and Helen Phifer has done it again with this latest installment.
I would recommend reading the earlier books in order, not only because they are fantastic books, but because I feel you need to see the character development and there may be spoilers in this one!
Just as gripping and compulsive as her previous books, this new book is just as fabulous too.
Book eleven in the Detective Morgan Brookes series
A murder of a girl Morgan knew and a member of a survivors group
Morgan has a race to save the others girls in the group
Will have you hooked
Thanks NetGalley
Lexie survived one killer but is now targeted by another. A killer intent on finishing the work of other murderers and DC Morgan Brookes is on his list too...
Save Her Twice is the 11th book in the Morgan Brookes police procedural series set in northern England. The plot relies heavily on old cases so there are spoilers.
Morgan saved Lexie once but isn't there to save her a second time. Can she save the other survivors of the killers she's caught and protect herself as well? I really felt upset that these women has escaped death once but were now being hunted down again, and this was reflected by Morgan's emotions throughout the book.
The police characters shine in this book. Ben and Morgan are negotiating their personal and professional relationships. Cain was injured in the last book but determined to support his colleagues. Pathologist Declan is delightfully full of black humour and wry wit whilst also being compassionate to the victims and his colleagues.
Most of the book is written to show the police investigation and potential victims. There are some chapters written from the perpective fo the killer but this does not help us to identify him or his motives. I thought the tension and sense of danger were well maintained. The ending was a little abrupt and lacked a depth of explanation about the perpetrator.
Save Her Twice is an enjoyable police procedural with wonderful lead characters.
How are we on book 11 already? This is a fantastic series and whilst the books can all be read as standalones you get more from the characters if you read in order. This book also features the final girls from some of the previous cases. I really enjoyed the horror movie feel. I would have loved to have a bit of a refresher on what each of the girls had survived because my memory sucks and I read a lot of books so I couldn’t remember who the characters were. However, it doesn’t take away from the story because all we need to know is they survived a serial killer and were rescued by Morgan. It made it even more heartbreaking that the victims were all characters that we had met before.
I do struggle with the fact that Morgan is always putting herself in danger, especially when she has such a fantastic team. There are so many lovable characters on her team and I would love to see more of them all working together. I just wanted to give Morgan a hug. My heart hurt for her and her wavering confidence in herself. She’s been through so much.
The case was fast paced and action packed. I only worked out who it was about a chapter before it was revealed. Definitely recommend if you love a crime thriller with twists and turns and lovable characters.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing house and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
This is the 11th book in the Detective Morgan Brookes series and honestly I think this one might be my favourite yet. This could easily be read as a stand alone book but the series is so great, you should definitely read them all, it accents the growth of the characters and their individual storylines. Great book, love the characters and the storyline.
Morgan is called out to a crime scene of a brutal murder at a nearby park, she is surprised to discover the deceased is Lexie, a girl that she had saved from a killer years before. As Morgan and her team investigate the murder, they discover that someone has been watching Lexie and further Lexie s in a support group in which they call themselves the Final Girls, a take from the final survivor in horror films. Morgan also learns that she was invited to the join the group which is made up of girls she has helped save in the past. Is someone targeting these girls and if so, can Morgan and her team save them before another girl dies, and most importantly can Morgan escape from another killer or has her luck run out.
In Rydal Falls a group of women have bonded together after horrific experiences have left them traumatised. When a body is found in the local park, Detective Morgan Brooks recognises the victim, Lexie. She had rescued Lexie & her mother from a killer but it seemed fate had not decreed that Lexie should have a long life. When it is revealed that Lexie had been scared that someone was was following her. As Ben, Morgan & the team look into it & other members of the group are targeted it seems that the women may have escaped a murderer once but may not be so lucky now.
I really like this series of books & have enjoyed getting to know the team & watch them develop. However I do feel that they are getting slightly repetitive. I'd like to see Morgan work a case where she is not in danger, or putting herself in danger!! Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book- I'm still looking forward to the next one.
This was my first serial killer thriller, and my first Morgan Brookes book, and it won’t be my last. It reminded me a lot of the crime dramas I like to watch on tv. I enjoyed getting the killer’s POV along with the police’s. That’s one thing I don’t get with tv. I think that made it harder for me to figure out who the killer was and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure it out.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC of this book. I can’t wait to read more of this series.
