I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Save Her Twice, the eleventh novel to feature DC Morgan Brookes, set in the fictional Cumbrian town of Rydal Falls.

Lexie White is a member of a support group for survivors of serial killers, the final girls as they call themselves and now she has been murdered. Another member of the group, Milly, thinks she is being followed by a silver car, is it the same one seen outside Lexie’s house? Whatever, Morgan has deep chills about the case, thinking that she and the team are hunting a new kind of killer, one determined to finish the job.

I thoroughly enjoyed Save Her Twice, which is a high octane read with an unusual premise and plenty of twists. The action never stops with more bodies and several young women to protect, not to mention the personal danger Morgan might be in as she has survived a serial killer or two herself.

The novel is mostly told from Morgan’s point of view with some scenes involving the “final girls”, which add context by giving these potential victims some character and some from the killer’s, which do little but confirm that he is a bad man. Still, the reader gets a broad view of events and the players.

The action never seems to stop with Morgan and the team chasing a committed killer who always seems a step ahead, until he isn’t. It is very entertaining and definitely a page turner, so it seems churlish to point out that there is little detail, like how the killer knows things or how Lexie’s body got on to the shelter roof. The questions niggled at me, but I got on better once I simply accepted and went with the flow.

I like Morgan, who is a smart, if reckless, investigator. She thinks laterally and sees connections others don’t. Mostly, however, I like the warm atmosphere in the team where they feel like family.

Save Her Twice is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Another brilliant book from Helen Phifer.
Detective Morgan Brookes is called when a mother returns home to find her front door covered in blood and her daughter missing.
When Morgan gets there she realises she knows this family as they survived an attack on their lives previously.
When they find Lexi’s body Morgan is devastated.
She’s determined to find the killer who brutally murders this young woman and realises there may be other lives in danger too.
A group of girls have been meeting up to discuss their experiences of surviving brutal attacks and Morgan warns them to be careful.
When the killer tries to burn them all at their meeting, with Morgan inside as well, Ben tries to get Morgan to take a step back, but she’s not willing to listen.
With more attacks and another dead body, the team have their hands full trying to find this killer.
This is a brilliant crime thriller and I loved the nail biting ending.
I highly recommend this series.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Love love love!!!
I was way too young to watch the slasher films that are referenced in the first chapter but the sinister music played in my head when the chapters focused on the killer, the sick bastard.
The murders really hit Morgan hard and she seems more vulnerable in this book.
I knew something untoward would happen when a character offered Morgan his keys. I laughed heartily at that scene.
Hail Caesar!!! I was hoping a scene would include him munching and I was rewarded for my patience.
I hope Caine will be given a love interest soon.

Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this arc, Someone is targeting the women known as THE FINAL GIRLS., they are women who have been through harrowing experiences and survived., and come back stronger. A support group was formed between themselves. Morgan and the team are called in to solve the case, question?, does morgan belong in the support group??????? And would she attend? Who would want these women dead?? Lots of suspects and a killer taking trophies from his victims. But. what? Does morgan have any more mishaps??This is fast paced, addictive i couldnt put it down, twists galore. If you want a thrilling book to read this has to be it. Highley recommend 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read from me

Tragedy AGAIN for some traumatized women😟

4-4.5🌟stars
Save Her Twice gave me some good scares and the story was a page turner that kept me guess until very near the action-packed ending.

It seems Morgan Brookes the MC just can't be stopped when keeping victims safe is concerned. She's vulnerable and scared but keeps working right through it, and I like her determination. Save Her Twice has her finding traumatized women she saved from various killers in earlier cases back in danger from a totally new source and Morgan still hasn't healed from attacks on her in the line of duty. By working to keep them safe she turns out sharing the target on their backs.

The camaraderie of the police team is something I like in a police procedural. And though I was so trepidacious about continuing when I knew the killer was close to getting Morgan, I loved the chase and the way she handles herself. I was just sorry that the end couldn't be more positive for all the "final" woman and girls who survived their earlier attacks. I would have liked a bit more backstory for each of the women since I either a) didn't read their story in a previous book in the series or b) read it but no longer remember. Still enjoyed it, though.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Morgan Brookes and her crew did it again.... forced me to let the world go on around me while I joined her in her latest investigation! I was hooked from the very beginning and did not put this book down for more than a few minutes to let the dogs out! While I love Morgan, her friend Declan and his beautiful heart gets me every time! Helen Pfifer... you have an amazing gift and I can't wait until next time!! For anyone one new to the Morgan Brookes thrillers, strap in for the ride of your life!

Another oh so good book by Helen Phifer. Really enjoyed the read! I have learned to love Morgan and Ben, and now I love them even more! My favourite detective stories are those books that get personal - for the detective. This is a story like that. It gets REALLY personal and quite frankly, scary.

It is hard to write anything about the plot that wouldn't give away too much, but let me just say it will not leave the reader feeling cold. Emotions a reader might feel are angry, surprised, disgust, protective, desperate, or freaked out. You'll be entertained for sure! This book got under my skin. Let's just say I do not want to have the same nightmares Helen Phifer must have while she is writing this book. I am also very happy that this is just a book, not reality. Excellent and entertaining!

DC Morgan Brookes has the awful realization that you can’t always save a victim twice. Three years previously, she was able to save Lexie, A victim who barely escaped with her life. When she is called to a murder scene, she is devastated to find Lexie. As it turns out, Lexie was one of many girls living in fear. These girls were part of a small support group of survivors, referring to themselves as the final girls.

Bronte started the group, and once Morgan realized why Lexie was murdered, she worries for Bronte and the others. What Morgan doesn’t realize, is that she could possibly become a victim herself. Could it be that Morgan is also being watched?

As another victim soon loses their life, there is a reference to a character from a previous book in the series, Sleeping Dolls. There is definitely a homicidal killer at large. From the case and the investigation, to the excellent characterization, to the continuity of Morgan’s previous cases, Save Her Twice was another excellent book in a stellar series. Bring on book 12, Helen Phifer, my Kindle is charged and ready.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

I am always on the lookout for a new book featuring Morgan, Ben, and the rest of the crew, and this is no exception. Previously ‘saved’ women are being stalked and murdered and Morgan must act fast to figure out who is behind the killings. Plenty of twists keep you reading ‘just one more chapter’. I was confused with the addition of previous characters, as I did not remember their individual stories. I missed the camaraderie with the other members of the squad. When will Ben and Morgan get promoted because they are solving all the tough cases? When is the next book coming out?

Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to review this book.

I really like Helen Phifer's books but little things irk me. A lot of the dialogue just isn't the way real people speak and the grammar. "Cain and me"...should be "Cain and I". I know small thing but over and over gets annoying.

I have to say in this one I totally did not expect the ones who died to be the victims!! It through me for a loop and I am not ashamed to say that I cried! With the Final Girls I wouldn't have minded a little back story as to their original attacks because I read a lot and had forgotten some of them over time.

Good story though and my little irks are no where near bad enough to stop me from continuing on with the 2 Phifer series that I am reading.

This is the 11th book in the Detective Morgan Brooke’s series . Wow yet again as in the previous books I was blown away by this unputdownable read. Everything about this book was brilliant from the storyline to the characters . This is one of my absolute favourite police crime series and I can’t wait for book number 12 .

I have read a few in this series and this one didn't disappoint . Detective Morgan and her partner Ben in her life and who she worked with were soon tested when a girl they both knew from their past was found dead. Someone was determined to finish off the job which previous killers had started and not been been able to finish due to being caught.
Morgan soon has a target on her back and it's her job along with others to try and find the person responsible before they strike again.
Yet another great book from this author.

Book 11 and there are no signs that Morgan and the team are coming to the end. Despite being very picturesque and in the beautiful area of the Lake District, Rydal Falls has no let up in the amount of murders that take place.
Called out to a park where a body has been found on the roof of a shelter Morgan is horrified to discover she knows the victim. Lexie was a survivor from an earlier case and when it's revealed that other girls have been meeting up in a support group for survivors, Morgan wonders if all if them, herself included are to be the next victim.
I love this series, I love the camaraderie between the characters, the sometimes dark humour that is present to help them process the crimes, The novels are fast paced and just one more chapter is not possible as you want to know what is going to happen next.

Detective Morgan Brookes #11

Morgan shivers in the darkness as she walks through the park towards the abandoned building. She sees the body and the blood dripping onto the cold, frosty grass. A beautiful teenage girl dead. Morgan feels rage build inside of her as she realises who it is....

I love this well-written police procedural series. All the main characters are back, and I was looking forward to reading what was in store for us this time.

A killer is targeting previous case survivors that Morgan had investigated. She will have to relive every case she's worked on to find who is responsible. But Morgan doesn't realise just how dangerous this person can be.

I like the work/life relationship Morgan has with her partner and boss, Ben. I was pulled in from the first page. Who was this killer? Tension mounts as do the murders. Morgan and Ben work around the clock to get this killer caught. But Morgan's luck might just be about to run out.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #HelenPhifer for my ARC of #SaveHerTwice in exchange for an honest review.

I adore this author but this book was not my favourite. I found the writing to be choppy and it didn’t flow like most of her books there were also a lot of grammatical errors that I assume will be corrected but it affected the flow of the read at the time I read it . However, the story line was amazing and creative. I love this main character and I am very glad I was given the chance to read this one. Even with the few hiccups this book was still a 4 star read for me as the plot was great and the characters and story were awesome. Suspenseful and mysterious! Overall a great read

In Save Her Twice we learn that no one is safe. Usually, when someone has been rescued at the end of a story we know they are going to go on and live their life never to be seen or heard from again In this book, we are following a group of women who had all been saved from a killer by Morgan and her team when one of them is found dead it starts an urgent investigation into who the killer could be, and if the rest of the group will be targeted as well. Also as Morgan has also been in the middle of all these cases, is she in the crosshairs as well?
I was hooked from the first page and it took me on a twisty turny ride, and I had no idea what was going to happen next, or who the killer was until it was revealed.
I love Morgan's relationship with Ben, I think they bring out the best in each other. I also love getting to see what all my favorite side characters have been up to since the last book.

I like how in this series, there are characters that, while on the sidelines, consistently make repeat appearances. This one is no different, except on a much larger scale. The mystery is really dark, and as I continued along reading, I really felt a sense of urgency to get to the end. I enjoy the juxtaposition of Morgan being independent, while also relying on her fellow team to work together. The location is quite moody and dark, which adds to the ambiance of the story. I enjoyed this and will continue reading this series with pleasure. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

Save Her Twice is another pulse pounding read in the Detective Morgan Brooke series that has full attention from the first to last page.

Morgan, Ben and team are on the case of Lexie who was brutally murdered and left on display at the park.

This is personal to Morgan as she saved Lexie once before and together they were survivors.

Tension mounts as the murders continue and for a group of girls (also survivors) the threat is real that they are next.

Morgan and Ben give it their all and yet its not enough so they work around the clock.

Helen Phifer throws in twists and turns as you worry that Morgan's luck might be running out.

I always hate these books to end and I cant wait to see what happens next on this edge of your seat read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review Save Her Twice.

And Helen Phifer has done it again, another absolutely fantastic, gripping read. I love this series and this one certainly didn't disappoint, fast paced full of twists and an edge of your seat ending, altho everything Morgan does makes me wary..more please!

First time I struggled a little bit with a Morgan Brookes book. The victims this time where people they already saved but I really had a hard time remembering the cases and victims - a little recap sentence for each person would have been much appreciated.

Packed with action, our lovable characters and plenty of twists, this was a great read! But still I must say the story " Oh no Morgan is in danger. AGAIN " is getting old - I would love to see another direction in the next story and more of the relationship between the characters again.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and rate this book.
