These word puzzles were a lot of fun to figure out! I would definitely prefer to have this book in a physical format. It was tough to work through it digitally.
The premise of this was good, I love Wordle, but I just couldn’t get to grips with this one. Maybe it was me and my daft brain, but by the time I got to try it a second time it had expired.
Either I’m dumb or I wasn’t I. The right headspace to do these because I struggled with the first puzzle.
This book will mostly be useful to people who love to play Wordle I love puzzles so I decided to try it out but if you haven't played wordly before, it attempts to explain the game at the beginning of the book which I found to be difficult. So if you're thinking about picking this book up, I would learn how to play the game first with the app so that you can try the puzzles in the book.
If you enjoy playing wordle there is a god chance you will enjoy this version of it. I however was not a huge fan. I prefer the original. This took me a minute to get ny head round and I didn't find it as satisfying to work out the answers. An OK time waster to get your brain working but I'll stick to the original
Fun to play along. If you have a strategy for Wordle, or any of the games before it that were exactly the same under different names, this format will add an extra level of difficulty, without the added interactivity. I think this particular game does need that to be fully engaging. I alway have loved puzzle games and puzzle game magazines, so this appeals to that part of me.
Not for me. This takes the usual Wordle puzzle – you remember Wordle, surely – it was that thing the American media hyped up before they suddenly thought they'd invented Only Connect's Wall round when they hadn't – and stretches it out. I guess it saves the makers the risk of being accused of presenting with too much blank page. Here you solve one paper Wordle – the task being like the old Mastermind game, but with letters the setters choose for you – and then the solution transfers into being the first guess in the next puzzle, and so on on and so on until four of them have been scrunched onto the page in one breakless column.
The thing is the very first page proves why I don't like it – these are supposed to be able to be solved through word knowledge, awareness of letter frequency and so on, but here they're not. Here you need the accompanying clue to have any chance – and here the accompanying clue makes it so blindingly obvious you barely need the Wordle grid. Take the very first task – it could easily be BLESS, but it isn't. It's what the shouldn't-actually-be-needed clue tells you in blatant fashion. The last in the chain could be one of numerous words, but again, the bludgeoning clue is there.
The book is done well, as far as it can go with this format. You get bang for your buck – long gone are the days of one Wordle per day, and one Wordle per page, clearly. The 'expert' rated final third is one humongously long chain, like those gimmick crosswords that might as well have been printed on loo roll. And I can see the format having legs, when it reverts to the traditional, clue-less Wordle idea. But the way I saw this, from these creators? I'd give a hard pass.
My husband and I are avid wordle players so this is delightful to me. How creative to actually come up with a similar game on paper! It took a bit of getting used to, though. The clues help a lot, as do the keyboard that you can tick off and also the usual process of elimination. Mighty glad the answers are given at the back for you to check.
Definitely one book to get for your wordle enthusiast friend or family, especially if you want to get them off the phone for at least a while!
A good puzzle book based on the New York Times puzzle sensation of wordle.
If you're a fan of Wordle, you will love this....it will certainly teat your mental ability.

***** I have received and read an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for giving my honest feedback. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.*****
If you like puzzles and word games, you'll probably like this book.
Great for road trips or power outages when you don't have access to devices or internet, but not something I think everyone would enjoy, mostly because people rarely hand over their devices when they don't have to.
This was a fun puzzle books for those who like the online word game! It is a slightly different experience than playing online, obviously, since the word progression is given to you and you are not working your way there yourself, just solving for the solution. I appreciated that they gave clues for each solution as well, or it would have been quite a bit more difficult. I also thought it was a fun twist to have the interconnected puzzles where one puzzle's solution was the starting word for the next one. There were also a good number of puzzles (200) and they progressed well in difficulty. That said, I did struggle with and have to double check the solutions for some of the easy ones, and am still working my way up to the expert level!

As a daily player of Wordle, I was intrigued to find a puzzle book titled Wordle Challenge while Amazon shopping sometime in early 2022.
The book turned out to a fun time killer which allowed me to get some Wordle puzzles in before the real Wordle website did its daily update.
So, knowing how much I enjoyed Wordle Challenge, I immediately opted to read an advance copy of one of its follow-ups, Wordle Tumble, when I noticed it available through Net Galley.
Unfortunately, I did not find Wordle Tumble as entertaining as one of its predecessors.
In the first book, as you can see immediately below, the page is made up of two Wordle puzzles. It's up to the player to solve the puzzle using the letters in front of them and, if they so wish, by reading a clue
Wordle Tumble is like the real Wordle and Wordle Challenge but on an overdose of steroids.
As you can see in the example underneath, the puzzles in Wordle Tumble flow from one into another leaving four opportunities to guess a word. When you get to 'Expert' stage, the puzzles travel onto the next page so you're looking at eight words.
I am a below average crossword player, so the clues were hit-or-miss (more the latter!) to my brain. This was especially the case as the difficulty levels increased.
I'll be fair and say Wordle Tumble is a unique take on the Wordle puzzle, but it was simply not for me,
This is an easy to follow word puzzle book. It seems like something that fans of word games would really enjoy.
I could see using this in the classroom as a warm up activity, or something to do when students are finished with their work. I thoroughly enjoyed doing these puzzles and would definitely recommend others to buy for some fun.
I love logic puzzles and word games and so I instantly adored wordle when it came out. For a long time I completed every day's puzzle, along with all the multi-word variations I could find. I got out of the habit of it eventually but when this showed up to review I had to grab it. And it's so much fun!
It does a wonderful job of capturing what I love about wordle and adds a new dimension by giving clues and making the words build upon one another. I discovered that I can easily complete the 'easy' puzzles by myself but sometimes need my husband's help to complete the 'medium' puzzles. I haven't gotten up the courage to try the 'expert' puzzles yet, but I plan to make sure my husband is on hand to help me brainstorm for those lol.
For reference, my husband and I used to play a ton of scrabble and boggle together and we go through phases of spending our free time completing NYTimes Sunday Crosswords together. So for those new to word puzzles this might be rather challenging. For those who love wordle and other word puzzles though, it's absolutely brilliant.
*Thanks to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing and Ivy Press for providing an early copy for review.
What a fun game book!
Really enjoyed those puzzles.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for introducing me to this new game via this ARC.
Hours of fun!
My thanks to NetGalley for this review copy. These puzzle books are awesome, I love to keep them at my desk for a break. Wordle Tumble reminds me of extreme wordle but I like the change up!
This is such a fun take on Wordle, which transfers the well-loved word puzzle to the page rather than screen.
It works so well in this format, and is just as addictive as its onscreen counterpart.
Highly recommend for any fans of word puzzles!
My thanks to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the ARC.
How fun! I love Wordle. And these Wordle Tumble word chains are great! My first thought was "how does this work without the immediate feedback to know if I guessed a letter correctly?" But it works! With the prompts and the clues, it takes Wordle to a whole new level! Great and fun book!
I love being able to keep this handy on my iPad for breaks at work or when I’m having a hard time focusing on another hobby! I was so excited to try this out as I’ve only ever played games like this on apps and so far I am loving it. My kids love to try and figure it out too! Thank you for the chance to test out this ARC. This would be especially fantastic for anyone going on a trip or who commutes long distances for work.
