Many thanks to NetGalley, Karin Gillespie and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was quirky and fun, very well written and funny. Though it falls more under "women's fiction" rather than "romance" (there was a no-spice/closed door romance element, but it was very much in the background of the main story), I was immediately invested in Lish. Lish was a strong FMC, full of warmth and you couldn't help but root for her.
I would have liked to see a resolution to the one outstanding issue (no spoilers here, you'd have to read the book to understand) - but otherwise, I enjoyed it very much.

Lish Lewis wakes up in a strange hotel room in an unknown location with no memory of how she got there. Nothing new since she's suffered from stress-induced dissociative amnesia since she was a teenager. Usually it's a few hours or days, but this time she's lost three months... and become famous for a video she posted from the perspective of her dog Cooper who died. In order to figure out what happened in that three months, Lish needs to follow the clues.
This book started out really great, totally unique and quirky, but somewhere in the middle it got lost and confusing. I liked the outgoing Hannon because she added a lot of humor to the story. I think the romantic interest could have been explored more in depth as it just seemed rushed and coincidental to the real story. Overall just an ok read for me.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A really good quick read. The type of amnesia in this story was interestingly used to develop the story and all the dimensions of dealing with it and having to be told what you’ve forgotten and waiting for the memories to come back. Plus dealing with fame… very complicated.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.
I'll start off by saying I'm a huge fan of Hannon. She is by far my favorite character in this book.
I greatly enjoyed the first 3 quarters of the book, and then the end seemed jumbled. It seemed forced for some reason, while the rest was smooth reading.
I really wanted to like this book, but I struggled with it. It felt so disjointed that I kept waiting for something else to happen to explain everything and tie it all together, but it never came. The romance piece of it felt really rushed and more like an afterthought. The premise sounded really interesting, but overall I found this book to be pretty disappointing.
Some spoilers included in this review:
This book was a light story with heavier subjects glanced upon. The amnesia was hard to follow and really left the reader in the dark, and was a little frustrating. The story drug out through the amnesia episode and then hurried through the ending. I would have liked a little more balance, but the main character was delightful at times and the storyline was unique.
