This was a great introduction to Amigurumi. The beginning introductory steps were easy to understand, but the steps for making the actual amigurumi were a little hard to follow. But it was still fun trying to make them.

Very cute amigurumi patterns! The book has quite straightforward instructions that are approachable for beginners.

I received an advanced reader's copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I studied the book and patterns early on in the year and for some reason neglected to review it until now.
This is my own unsolicited opinion. I absolutely love these whimsical designs with personalities that show with facial features and body positions.
The character patterns include clothing with embroidery, ruffles, floral decor, plaids and stripes. Each character has a name and a short description of 'who' each one is. For example: Griffin giraffe is a professor and Liam kitten has superpowers.
They are all so cute.
I recommend this book for experienced crocheters and amigurumi makers. There's still time to get this book and make a very special character for a loved one for this upcoming 2024 holiday season.
There is a good explanation for crochet techniques at the beginning of the book. There are clear, concise directions and excellent color photos of each design. I rate this at a 5 out of 5.

A lovely book of amigurumi. Colorful and cute patterns. This is a book that has been translated out of the original French edition into English. There are many good explanations and descriptions (with pictures) to help out newbie crocheters. These patterns are fun and appeal greatly to children (and, okay, I love them too). A very detailed and well written book.

This was book was easy to follow, I am beginner and was able to follow it. The pictures were very helpful too and so cute! Overall I liked it!

I've followed Khuc Cay on Instagram for quite a while, so when this book was translated into English, I gratefully jumped at the opportunity to read and review it courtesy of NetGalley and Landauer Publishing.

The 15 designs included are all as adorable as I expected from this talented designer. For the purposes of the review I made 2: Liam the Kitten and Griffin the Giraffe, and I can attest that both patterns were flawless.

While I didn't literally read the book cover to cover, I did refer to it frequently while I was making the toys, as if I was a beginner. I found the materials and techniques sections to both be really useful additions. Techniques, in particular, are well-described and supported with a generous number of photographs. I don't think a complete novice could use this book to become an amigurumi maker straight away, but I do think it would be realistic for a beginner-level crocheter to aspire to making one of the designs successfully, with time.

This was such a cute book! I loved all of the photographs, and the designs that were provided. The instructions were clear, and the book is set up in a way that is great for both beginner crocheters, and more advanced crocheters. I can't wait to start making one of these designs!

The patterns in this book are really wonderful. They're absolutely adorable and the animals include so much detail. The patterns are easy to follow and so much fun to make and customize the colors. I will definitely be referencing this again!

I’ve been enjoying these patterns! I haven’t made them all, but they’re all definitely cute.

I started with the cute reindeer and, though there were formatting issues in my copy, I still found the pattern pretty easy to follow and it’s turned out well. They are larger than I expected as I was thinking these would be smaller amigurumi, but they’re still cute! I’ll just need more yarn to make it through these patterns.

The beginning of the book also had some really nice and useful sections that are handy to reference. From materials, tools, techniques, stitches, etc I think everything is well-covered.

I hope the rest of the patterns turn out as well!

What a cute book! The designs in here are absolutely adorable - I love them all. Each animal is bursting with character. There’s a brilliant ‘how to’ intro section on crochet,, making this book suitable even if you’re a beginner. The accompanying sketches give you fantastic visuals for how to complete each stitch. Would definitely recommend.

These are cute designs. The little clothes are fun. The book has information on Materials - yarns, crochet hooks, & eyes and noses. Stitches and assembly are also covered. There are pictures of the completed project along with pictures of the work at various stages. I like that each instruction tells you how many stitches you should end up with.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Khuc Cay's crochet patterns before, but this book holds a wonderful collection of both common and uncommon amigurumi dolls. While I have seen dozens of mermaid patterns, for example, the mermaid in this book has cute options for the face and clothing that makes them unique. I particularly love the patterns for Heina the Mushroom and Sunny the Anglerfish!

The instructions are very clear in this book with lots of pictures to help guide you through the process. I also appreciate that there are patterns for different skill levels, rated from 1 to 3 stars. Someone could easily start with the 1 star patterns and move up to the 3 star patterns to improve their skills.

I'm looking forward to making some of these patterns soon. With 15 amigurumi to choose from, there is something for everyone.

In reading this pattern book, I decided to give the platypus on the cover a go, because I could not get over its little fishy bag and fruit hat. I've only been crocheting for a couple months, but most of that time has been spent doing amigurumi, so I found this pattern fairly straightforward and clear. The photos along the way helped me decipher some of the more complicated bits that my newbie brain struggled to decipher from the written pattern, and I'm happy to say that I am now the proud owner of my very own amigurumi platypus with a fruit hat and fishy bag! This was such a fun pattern to do, and I'm quite excited to try out others from the book. I'd definitely recommend this for someone who loves amigurumi and is on the hunt for unique, adorable patterns.
