All I needed to see was that Abi Dare (The Girl With The Louding Voice) was coming out with a new book and I was HERE FOR IT!!! I was also able to discover several new authors who's books had an interesting premise. Here's to hoping some great, new authors are discovered!

Always fun to read a list of buzziest books for this year, and this was no exception! I would recommend everyone check out this list and the excerpts chosen. There was a wide range of fantastic writing here, and I can't wait to read some of these in full.

This was my first time discovering the Buzz Books but it certainly won't be the last. This is a great resource. It's also a bit overwhelming in its efforts to be so very comprehensive....literally HUNDREDS of books are listed in here. On the flip side, I really enjoy getting to choose for myself which titles interest me, rather than being given just 10 or 20 titles and told "these are the ones you should read" - how many great titles have been left off?
Which leads me to my second small quibble...I thought I was going to be given a bit of info on every title that's listed up front, but you only get info on a handful in each category. So then why bother to list them all? Why not give a shorter excerpt for each so that all the books listed can still be given a description, at the bare minimum?

Here are the books that caught my eye and will make it onto my TBR list:

I work in a bookstore and do not have time to read all the titles that come in. so this compendium of excerpts has been invaluable. It has helped me tailor my own TBR list but also to give customers an idea of some of these new publications. I quite appreciate the range and diversity of the profiled books and am looking forward to the next buzz.

I always love when Buzz Books comes out and I look forward to finding great new books through it. This time I will be looking forward to And So I Roar! I loved The Girl with the Louding Voice by the same author. Buzz Books 2024: Spring/Summer really bulked up my new release TBR. There were books in here that I had not heard about on any platform, which I greatly appreciated. The authors did a wonderful job about bringing attention to books that seem to be underrepresented.

This was such a comprehensive summary! It was broken down into fiction, debuts, young adult and non-fiction, and each book had the blurb and publishing information. The best part was the sneak peak into the writing! If you find your interest piqued you can get a little snapshot of the author's writing style and storytelling.

I highly recommend this to anyone that is on the lookout for new and diverse books to add to their TBR, but they do not want to commit without getting a taste of what the actual book is like. This was my first Buzz Books, but now I will be on the lookout for other releases. Thank you Buzz Books for putting together this informative and original compilation of new releases.

I always enjoy reading these preview books and getting a feel for what is coming out that I need to watch for. I would love to see more books included with better description and maybe shorter excerpts.

I always look forward to Book Buzz previews as it’s a great guide to titles due in the near future. I love finding new authors to rave about and some of my old favourites too.

Loved looking to see what some of the new titles coming out would be! I wrote down several ones I want to make sure to get to.

I love being one of the first to know about upcoming releases and look forward to reading works by some of my favorite authors, including Abi Dare and Liz More, as well as books by new-to me authors, such as Cristina Henriquez and Monika Kim. This one divides the books into adult fiction, debut, non fiction and young adult. I like that there are diverse authors offering up diverse books so here is what I put on my TBR list:


Moko Magic: Carnival Chaos by Tracey Baptiste is a middle grades fantasy book about three cousins in Brooklyn. Their families are busy getting ready for carnival and the three discover that carnival time brings out magic that they did not know they had.

The Girl with No Reflection by Keshe Chow is a YA dark fantasy. It starts off like the best horror with something in the mirror that has her face.



It Waits in the Forest by Sarah Dass, like Moko Magic is tied to Caribbean culture and mythology, but this one is more YA than middle grades. This mystery and dark thriller will grab readers in the first couple of chapters. The beautiful cover will also be a great sell for this book.

Off with Their Heads by Zoe Hana Mikuta is my last TBR choice. This is a Korean-inspired Alice in Wonderland twist with two wicked girls and former loves who are bonded by blood and betrayal. This YA, LGBTQIA dark fantasy is another beautiful cover.

Amazing selection of books as usual. Love the selection and finding some new books to my tbr that I might not have found elsewhere.

As always, I love having Buzz Books as a resource - it brought some titles on my radar I hadn't heard of and validated my excitement about others. Thank you for putting this together each season!

Super excited for all of these! Especially the Ally Condie novel! These excerpts definitely created even more hype for me.
