I always love these books.
I am so excited for The Unwedding by Allie Condie! I loved her Matched trilogy.
I always look forward to this seasonal compendium of new book excerpts. It’s sort of like a toy catalogue for kids, on,y it’s for book lovers and NetGalley enthusiasts! The excerpts are long enough to allow for a real ‘taste’ of the actual books, and they are listed under the categories you would be searching on NetGalley. I make note of my new ‘must reads’ and search for them regularly. Just a wonderful freebie to curl up with on a winter afternoon. Highly recommended.
This is a great resource. It’s so helpful to have everything provided in one place and so neatly organized. I love that some of the books even have excerpts included. I think this will be helpful not only for sorting out my requests/reviews here on NetGalley, but also as a supplemental resource for reader’s advisory/ my work in a public library.
Excellent selection of books in so many categories. The excerpts given have me excited for all the new releases over the next several months. My reading list just keeps getting longer!
At the start of each year, I’m always excited to see what new publications I can look forward to in the months ahead. Buzz Books 2024: Spring/Summer is an incredibly valuable resource for readers of all kinds, especially librarians, booksellers, book influencers and reviewers, and others in the publishing industry. The coming months will bring a rich variety of fiction and nonfiction, with a huge selection featured here. In addition to an extensive list of upcoming books (along with their anticipated publication dates), Buzz Books 2024: Spring/Summer also includes lengthy excerpts of more than 50 of these books.
Of the books that come with an excerpt, some that I am particularly interested in reading in full include And So I Roar by Abi Daré (I loved her previous novel, The Girl with the Louding Voice); The Great Divide by Cristina Henríquez; Honey by Isabel Banta; Daughters of Shandong by Eve J. Chung; Malas by Marcela Fuentes; and If the Tide Turns by Rachel Rueckert.
Some other books listed here that are now on my radar include The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley; House of Bone and Rain by Gabino Iglesias; Big in Sweden by Sally Franson; The Instrumentalist by Harriet Constable; The Lion’s Den by Iris Mwanza; The Singer Sisters by Sarah Seltzer; Cinema Love by Jiaming Tang; and The Silence Factory by Bridget Collins.
While I mostly read adult fiction, the nonfiction and young adult sections also offer a wide array of books to look forward to as well.
There is so much coming in spring and summer this year, and the Buzz Books 2024 guide has been a wonderful preview of them. I can hardly wait to read the many books highlighted here.
This is a sneak peek into some "buzz-worthy" upcoming books for spring and summer. Based on the list of releases at the beginning, I was hoping for excerpts of some books that were not included. However, I enjoyed many of the excerpts I did read and discovered some titles I might not have otherwise picked up. I also appreciate how there's a link to request the book at the end of each excerpt. Overall this is an excellent resource and I'll definitely be watching out for the fall/winter edition.
Thank you NetGalley for this copy of BuzzBooks 2024: Spring/Summer.
I had no idea that this was an available magazine. This is such a good supplement to the Booklist Reader and the Library Reads magazines. I truly appreciated the way this was organized, and the samples that were provided. After reading through, I already have more than 10 books on my radar, that I did not have before, and may not have if I had not read Buzz Books. I am extremely thankful for the inclusion of scholarly pieces as well! Excellent piece of literature for scholars, teachers, librarians and book enthusiasts.
Buzz Books 2024 Great Reads Spring and Fall publication is a reader’s treasure trove of upcoming books to explore. The organization of the publication is excellent - the first section of links; an enticing introduction of what will follow in the four categories – Fiction, Debut, Nonfiction, and YA; then an extensive Publishing Preview of the planned works for 2024 beyond this publication (a bibliophile’s place to linger). How enjoyable and easy it was to read through each of the selected work’s summary and excerpt and to meet new authors as well as learn of known authors’ upcoming books. The problem with reading excerpts is that once the reader is hooked, it is just that – an excerpt and leaves one longing to turn the page for more. For example, Alison Espach’s The Wedding People and Stuart Turton’s The Last Murder at the End of the World. I want more, right now!
I am grateful to Publishers Lunch INGRAM and NetGalley, as well as all the authors and publishers, for providing an insider’s sampling of books. I look forward to the next Buzz Books publications, and I will review ones from the past.
This is a list of some of the titles to be released in 2024. It is categorized by genres and has some of the titles highlighted with early looks at covers and book descriptions. I enjoyed the diversity of authors included and the links to full galleys at the end. Great for buyers and Readers Advisory! This particular volume is for Spring and Summer 2024. There will be a Fall Winter volume to follow. This is my first time accessing Book Buzz and look forward to more tools I can use for my library patrons and district.
Such an amazing preview of all the good stuff that is coming out! I really appreciate the effort of putting this comprehensive list together. My extension of myTBR list is ridiculous at this point. Too bad my paycheck is pretty much the same size as before!
Love these buzz collections, they *help* me add more books to my tbr not like I need it. But it's nice to see what new books are coming out so I know what to keep an eye out for.
I’ll be honest, I’m not too excited about most of these, but it’s simply a matter of preference haha. I love the length of these little snippets though, and some were very interesting! I’ll def be checking out the next set!
I absolutely love getting a sneak peek at the hottest upcoming reads! These Buzz Books collections always make me excited for the year to come. The fact that there is a separate section for debut authors is so awesome to me. From this collection, I am most excited for The Unwedding by Ally Condie. She has been on my list of 'authors to check out' for a while. Thanks for this collection.
What is there to say: it gives a sneak peek into what's upcoming. I do appreciate that they have a specific one for romance, and I wish they had others for books written by authors of color.
I love Buzz Books! There are always some great books that I learn about that I may have otherwise overlooked. This is a good resource for finding new books/authors and reading a few chapters before jumping in and buying the book. Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ebook. The opinions are all my own.
Buzz Books releases are the highlight of my year <3

Buzz Books is a must download. I love sampling the books and adding new ones to my tbr. Thanks Publishers Lunch for putting together such a great guide!
I always love reading these buzz books - I like to see what Publishers Lunch thinks will be hits, and I always love the samples, that way I can get a taste of some of the books as well.
I love getting a taste of what is upcoming in book publishing. I am very excited for many of these books. I loved the excerpt of Docile and have pre-ordered the book. Thank you!
BuzzBooks is a annual edition that features excerpts from 6o different novels, sorted into four sections: Fiction, Debut, Nonfiction, and YA. All of the books are going to be released in the spring and summer of 2024. I was so surprised by how interesting all the books were! I was planning to just read the YA section, but I ended up reading every single one- including nonfiction. Wow.
I highly recommend checking it out. I loved how even the most obscure books got a chance to shine. There's a separate book for romance, but even the version I read contained a few love stories. That being said, by TBR doubled after reading this book!
