"Love, Me" by Jessica Saunders is a powerful look at love and self-discovery. The narrator delivers a strong performance, bringing the characters to life and adding depth to the story.

The plot combines touching moments with relatable struggles, making it easy to connect with the main character. Saunders' writing balances humor and emotion well, keeping me engaged throughout.

I’d rate this audiobook 4.5 out of 5 stars. It’s a thought-provoking story that stays with you after listening. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own! Highly recommend!

I love espitolary novels and flashbacks, but the audiobook format didn't work for me, for this one. I wasn't able to engage with the characters, who I found unlikeable. DNF.

Rachel has a good life. She's got the job she's always wanted, a husband and 2 kids, and she's still making time to be at their soccer games too. Sure, it feels stagnant but it's fine. But when racy photos of her back in high school and love letters to her ex boyfriend from high school (who is now a big movie stat) resurface, her job is at stake, her marriage is suddenly on the rocks and she's thrust into limelight she never wanted. The ex she's never forgotten comes back into her life and now she must try and balance what she has, what she's about to lose and maybe what she can gain.

A fun book with that steamy second chance fog! it wasn't completely romance but it was still so good and i liked being a part of rachel's story.

Debut novelist Jessica Saunders has written a novel that I had me hooked from the very beginning. Rachel is a busy lawyer who thinks that making partner and coping with an inattentive, unappreciative husband are her biggest problems. Then she is blindsided when a tabloid prints old love letters and risqué photos from her high school romance with the boy who became one of Hollywood's leading actors. As she deals with all the personal and professional fallout, she is also given a hance to reconnect with her old flame. The dual timeline moves back and forth from her youth in the 90's to present day. The three main characters are extremely well developed. Although this book has been labeled a second chance romance, it is so much more. Rachel has a chance at love, but she also has a second chance at rebuilding her own life. Although their is a fair amount of humor, this is no fluffily rom-com. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Emily Ellet is a fine voice actress who can differentiate the characters quite well. There is just enough alteration in her voice to portray the male characters believably. This audiobook will keep you entertained! If you get the print book, you will not want to put it down.

This is a very interesting read. No matter how hard you work, life can take off in interesting directions. Rachel checks all the boxes, Cornell, law school, marriage 2 kids. When the unexpected heads her way it forces her to reassess her life. It's not always easy, but HEA is in the cards when you are true to who you are and want to be.

I enjoyed a lot of this story - I loved the flashbacks to when they were teens and just starting their romance at summer camp. But I wish there was a little more separation in the present day between the two men. It just felt a little icky she was actively cheating on her husband. Not really my style.

Love letters are very much at the center of this brilliant novel. Love letters from Rachel's high school boyfriend who is now a famous actor in LA whereas she is a brilliant lawyer and mom of two trying to make partner - these love letter would have remained in the boxes they were stuffed in and wouldn't have seen the light of day if it hadn't been for Rachel's husband Dan who sold the letters and some accompanying pictures.
Now Rachel has to take stock of her life and marriage finding herself at a crossroads she hadn't expected, betrayed by the man she thought she was building a life with, with the one who broke her heart trying to reach out again. But this is not a love story this is a story about Rachel realizing she needs to figure out what she wants and she is the main character in her life's story and, of course, in this book.
I loved this book that I found out about through @texacalibooks but I can't get over the fact that Jessica Saunders wrote this book while being a working attorney and mom to two kids.
I have a law degree as well and work as a judge not an attorney and love reading but writing fictional writing ... besides all the professional writing I am impressed !
The audiobook narrated by Emily Ellet was fabulous, 1 was right there with Rachel and felt transportedto the scenes !

Rachel is a character that a lot of moms will easily connect with. Whether you're a working mom, like Rachel, or a stay at home mom the monotony of routines and caring for others can become overwhelming. Rachel is content with her life but feels like shes on autopilot. Her marriage, trying to fit in and deal with the other moms, and the fact that you kind of lose who you are during that time of life weighs on her. When something from her past resurfaces and stirs up old memories she questions what might have been. I really enjoyed this book. I loved the narrator! She made it seem like you're friends and she's telling you her story.

I finished listening to "Love, Me" by Jessica Saunders a couple weeks ago. This one wasn't really for me. I thought it had potential, but found it lacking in depth. I found the characters entitled and unlikeable.

My opinion: Would not recommend.

To be honest - this was the very first audiobook I have ever listened to. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I found myself absolutely loving the story - though wondering if I would feel the same way if I had read the book.
From the get go, I found myself loathing Dan - Rachel Miller’s husband. Something about him just bugged me - and boy was I correct with my intuition.
Rachel’s story is about second chances, the what if’s, the mistakes we make when we are younger and more naive in life. I loved being able to hear how the story played out.
I don’t want to give away the ending, but I would have loved a second epilogue!!
I think I’ll find the time this year to read the book Love, Me as well - to see if I enjoy it as much.
5-Star review from me! Can’t wait to read what Jessica Saunders writes next!

This was such a fun, quick read! I kept thinking I knew where this one was going, but loved being wrong about a lot along the way. There are some heavier topics (infidelity, addiction) but the author managed to maneuver them appropriately and not exploit for the purpose of the plot. Rachel’s path crosses again with her first true love and I was a bit hesitant, not sure where the story was going and if I was okay with it. I finally let my overthinking take a pause — which meant I finished this one off quickly as I was anxious to find the resolution.

The main character was smart and independent, making her enjoyable to root for — even when it means taking a stand against family and long-time friends. Recommend if you’re looking for a fun read with a sharp female lead.

A story of what-ifs, second chances, and self-discovery. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It is probably my favorite Netgalley story so far since I started with them! Ugh I loved it a lot.
Rachel has been going through the motions of life for years, and her not-very-happy marriage is on autopilot. One day, however, scandalous photos and love letters of her and her high-school boyfriend Jack (now an A-list actor) are published for the world to see and the tabloids take it by storm! Turns out, her garbage husband is the culprit of the situation and sold the memorabilia to get out of gambling debt. After this ultimate spousal betrayal, her superstar ex is brought back into her life and she has to re-evaluate her life and everything that has brought her to this moment.
ALMOST a five star! If I gave decimal ratings, this would be a 4.75 for sure!
HUGE thank you as always to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for my honest review. <3

Love, Me by Jessica Saunders is a book about Rachel Miller, a successful lawyer and good mother/wife. Starting on a successful streak in her professional and professional life, Rachel's life quickly changes when photos of her and her high school boyfriend, Jack, a successful actor, hits the media. Covering the aftermath of her professional and personal lives once these photos got out, Rachel is seen being betrayed by the people who were supposed to be supporting her.
This book does have a dual timeline covering her adult life and dealing with the release of these photos while going back to her high-school/early college life to see what went wrong with Rachel and Jack in the first place. I enjoyed this book and the journey Rachel went through to find happiness again after her life is turned upside down. It is clear that the biggest focus for Rachel during this is not romance but finding herself again while still being the best parent she can be. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a women's fiction read with a bit of romance and some seriously spicy moments.
TW: Infidelity, gambling, cheating, open door, divorce.

Love, Me is marked as 'Women's Fiction, Romance, General Fiction." I'd agree with Women's/General fiction, but not Romance. While there are love interests, the book is more about Rachel in past/present timelines questioning her old relationship, current marriage, and her career due to a scandal that rocks their already questionable marriage - not so much a swoony romance where you root for couples chemistry. Overall, I did enjoy the story and the narrator did a great job. I wish it just had more character development, it was very one-dimensional, hard to connect. I'd love to read more from this author!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

While I enjoyed parts of this book, it did almost become a DNF for me because I did not connect to any of these characters. It was a quick ready but I do think it could have benefited from some additional character development. The story wants us to connect with Rachel and her decisions but I found every single character, including Rachel, to be underdeveloped to the point that they just seemed like their motivations where only selfish. Dan was by far the biggest piece of shit in the story for doing what he did and I could not believe that Rachel's parents would actually, really want them to stay together.

It also feels like a mistake to market this as a "romance." Once sex scene and no other swoon-worthy situations does not a romance make.

Thank you @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for the ARC audiobook of this debut novel.
Despite the word “love” in the title, this is not a romance. Love, Me is about a married couple, Rachel and Dan Miller who go through a rough patch after a scandal upends their world when racy photos of Rachel and an old high school boyfriend, now famous actor, Jack Bellow, publish in a tabloid along with letters (yikes!). Rachel then questions her marriage, her career and old feelings.
I enjoyed listening to this book, the narrator did a great job of alternating and flowing between characters.
