This was a really great audiobook performance. I all too often find myself really disliking the audio version of books as they don’t seem to line up with my own imagination. This one was spot on and not only that it was just read so well. The book itself was great as well. Second installment in the series. Still kept a great pace, story line flowed.

I was only going to give this 3 stars but the end really made it so much better so 4 it is.
The beginning was hard to read. Devonry was so unlikable. I really wanted to call through the pages and strangle her.
Prince Enver was a pompous entitled jerk and I really hope the next book the whole family gets what is coming to them.
Solomon had my heart and the comic relief of Argyle was wonderful.
The last 30% makes up for what was lacking in the beginning and now I definitely want to read book 3 (as long as Devonry doesn't do something stupid and sell her hand in marriage for help)

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Just wow! This was a great sequel and was very engaging. I loved how Devenry began to grow into her power and began to take control of them. I loved her and Solomon, they make a great couple and are a very steamy match. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I hope Devenry kicks some butt in the next book and gets her kingdom back!

Dawn of Fate and Valor (Awakened Fates, #2)
by Lucinda Dark, Rebecca Grey
Magic, spirituality, knights and ever abiding love. The story of two connected souls as they struggle with phenomenal power and political intrigue. The two oldest of friends divided by their maturing responsibility. The princess left to fortune by the death of her father, the loss of her mother. The responsibility of a kingdom taken by misfortune and betrayal. Finds that perceived threat is only minor to the reality to the real threat. Romantic, alluring, and erotic..

This audiobook exceeded my expectations. Despite not experiencing the first book, I easily caught up and now regret not starting from the beginning. The romance, infused with just the right amount of spice, revolves around the complex characters of Solomon and Devonry, transitioning from friends to enemies to lovers. The banter between the main characters, along with well-developed side characters, added depth to the story. The plot and action were compelling, making this audio a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Also the narrators did an amazing job. I have nothing but praise for this book.

I loved the first book in the series, and this one did not disappoint! I was lucky enough to get an ARC for the audiobook.
I liked the narrators, and since I always have audiobooks on a higher speed I appreciated that they were easy to listen to.
The story developed at a nice pace, and I really like the writing. Will 100% continue this series.

I love a good vampire book and this second in the Awakened Fates series was even better than book one! The plot progressed wonderfully but the romance was what really made this sequel. I was hooked from the prologue and dying to know what would happen. I can’t wait for book 3!

Thank you Dreamscape Media for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second installment un Awkakened Fates.
Devonrys father, the king been murdered by hers betrotheds brother.
She battles her feelings about this and her the “inappropriate” visions of her protector Solomon.
Devonrys powers are also ‘awakening’
leaving her to try to master the powers beneath her skin and convince her betrotheds family she is due something for the murder of her father.
Her bethroded isn’t what he seems to be.
Devonry needs to master her power to avenge her family, friends and kingdom.
I enjoyed the audiobook as both voice actors fit the characters well.
This fantasy series I enjoyed , but it just felt like there was a depth that was missing.
Nice easy read though

I was so excited to get this audiobook, but it honestly just wasn’t for me. It was a bit slow for me, and too predictable and like other books I’ve read and loved. It definitely wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I really wanted out of it!

We love a good enemies to lovers, fated mates, who did this to you story!
Devonry & Solomon are my favorite couple so far this year!
I'm loving the narrators for this series, they are both a first for me.
Born to a Saintess Queen, now my hands are soaked in blood.
Betrayed by a friend who killed my father & took over my Kingdom
Saved by an enemy. I’ll have to rely on the one man I’ve hated my entire life for survival.
I am a killer, I am Awakened, I am a Queen without a throne.
My newfound abilities have brought with them secrets.
A mad prince, a lost friend, mortal enemies—I have to find a way to save my country.
Thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the ARC of book 2 in the Awakened series!
Dawn of Fate and Valor
By: Lucinda Dark, Rebecca Grey
Narrated by: Nick Mondelli, Islay Jacobs
Series: Awakened Fates, Book 2
Publisher: Dreamscape Media
Release date: 01-16-24

I'm loving this series so much. This was everything I wanted from the second book in the series!
This was my second time reading Dawn of Fate and Valor and it was just as good on audio as I hoped. Nick Mondelli and Islay Jacobs once again did a fantastic job as narrators and capturing Solomon and Devonry's POVs. The scene in the cave (IYKYK) was soo good on audio, but make sure you have headphones in if you're in a public place. 😉
For this being the second book in the series, the burn is still quite slow, but when the heat finally picks up between Dev and Solo it’s worth every page that made us wait for them to finally come together.
Devonry is a great FMC. She is strong, brave and isn’t a damsel in distress waiting to be saved. That said, she also isn’t running into danger for the sake of it. She also doesn’t take any of Solo’s sass.
I also loved Solomon. He may be the feared warrior known and the Blood General, but he’s a cinnamon roll when it comes to Dev. Every time he calls her “my Queen” I may have actually swooned.
Overall, I recommend picking up this series. However, this isn’t a standalone so you’ll have to get into book one, Crown of Blood and Glass, first.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, Lucinda Dark and Rebecca Grey for an advance audio copy. This is my honest review.

Loved the narration of this audio! It had been some time since I read book 1 but I was able to jump right in to book 2. I enjoyed the story and world building continuation of this sequel.

Quick Summary: A fiery, forbidden, fated mates, sci-fi/fantasy romance
My Review: Dawn of Fate and Valor by Lucinda Dark and Rebecca Grey is book two in the Awakened Fates series. This installment was just as captivating as book one. It was filled with shadows and deception, heated visions and angst, and a passionate stirring between the warrior queen and her ever faithful guard.
About the Book: Devonry seeks the aid of her enemy's family. Unfortunately, the kingdom and its royals are not showing themselves to be honorable or helpful. Even as the awakening queen gains knowledge and strength, she is haunted by dreams and plagued by realistic memories that seem to involve her handsome, vampiric escort, Solomon.
About the Narration: Nick Mondelli and Islay Jacobs were sensational. Just as before, they brought the story to life.
My Final Say: Dark and Grey have done it again. I am utterly enthralled by this story. They have worked their magic and weaved the perfect spell to enchant this reader. I want ALL the books now. Hard copies, e-copies, audiobooks, it doesn't even matter. This series is going in my favorites vault. Books 1 and 2 are guaranteed repeat reads. I have no doubts that this will be the case for all of the books in the series.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Much appreciation is extended to the authors, to the publisher (Dreamscape Media), and to NetGalley. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the opportunity to read/listen to this incredible novel. It was a pleasure to review. The words I have shared are heartfelt and sincere. I look forward to reading more from these talented writers.

I was given an audio arc and this is my
Honest opinion.
I love the narrators! This is a wonderful audio book. The male nails Solo’s POV chapters exactly how I imagined him.
So this is a real slow burn series.
The build up is so worth it when we finally she the relationship happen.
We see Devenry really come into herself in this book. She goes from a naive princess to a queen who will fight and think for herself. I cannot wait to see her in the next book!
Solomon has totally given into his feelings, and I am here for it. I love that he gives Devenry all the choices. He is such a loyal companion to her. I just love him so much!
The Bartoli’s were such pompous villains. I love how they are written. They are everything you want to hate in villains.
This book was better than the first! I am so ready for the final book to be here in February!

Diving into the sequel, "Crown of Blood and Glass," I found myself engrossed in Devonry's tumultuous odyssey. The storytelling adeptly entwines, portraying the exceptional execution of the bodyguard trope, and the genuine dialogue breathes vitality into characters such as Devonry and Solomon. Despite slight inconsistencies and hurried moments in the concluding chapters, the overall encounter builds anticipation for the forthcoming "Dawn of Fate & Valor."

“Dawn of Fate and Valor” by Lucinda Dark and Rebecca Grey
Devonry, princess of the Saintess Queen, is running to her betrothed after her parents were murdered and her country taken over by no other than her betrothed’s own brother. Devonry struggles with her newly awakened fire powers, her betrothed that won’t help her, and her growing attraction to her most trusted guard that was her enemy.
I really liked this book. It has inner turmoil, spicy scenes that are conflicted by both parties, fire powers, royalty, pirates, goddesses, forbidden romance, and the need for justice. I did not get bored for even a second. I love the conflicted relationship Devonry has in the book. I also love how much she grows into her Queendom and to really find her voice despite the rage inside her. I definitely will be reading the whole series. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this. The pacing was great as was the narration. There was a little bit of repetition that bothered me but over all it was fantastic

This was an excellent book 2! Loved seeing more of the mc romance as well as the plot was just as good!

I'm sad, I didn't realize this was the second book in a series when I requested it, it's not listed in the summary and th9ugh I tried to power through I was too lost to finish
