Thank you Netgalley, Gregg Olsen, and Bookouture audio for the advanced copy of the audiobook!! This was a great listen and very well narrated by Karen Peaks again! The Port Gamble serie is so great to listen to!! Always starts off with some type of murder then the mystery and secrets unfold while telling the story of the twins and what brought them to where they are today!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the focus on the crime in this book and how twisted the whole crime was. I still have so many questions about the Ryan twins and their abilities and what happened in their mother’s life. This is a very interesting thriller and I did not see that ending coming.

The narrator and this book had me hooked from the beginning, which is great because that’s how I felt about book 1. This book follow the twins on a journey of family discovery as well as trying to find out who killed the exchange student at the Halloween party. It was strange because while I expected these 2 story lines to have something to do with each other they are really separate. One exposes a family secret and the other exposes the people who were in on the murder and why. While I enjoyed the beginning and was hooked as the stories began to unfold there were some things that just made it feel too long and off course. The ending was satisfying.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for sending me book 1 and 2. It was great to be able to read them back to back. However they would also be great as stand alone as you doing need to read book 1 to understand book 2.

I am reviewing these two together because I received them at the same time and well, they just go together! It is not necessary that you read them in order. They are stand alone thrillers and worth every minute!

This is a series that follows Haley and Taylor. These two young ladies are twins and they are a bit psychic. They can feel if something bad has happened in their small town. Both of these books open with a young lady’s body. In the first book, the young lady is electrocuted in the bathtub. Of course the police believe it is suicide, but the twins know different. In the second book, the young lady has definitely been murdered. The twins have their suspicions and they will not let it rest.

I enjoyed the second book, Dying to be Her, just a little bit more than the first. It has more history about the twins mother. I found it fascinating how she grew up in a prison. Her dad was the warden. And, of course, the twins do not leave this alone and they go and search the prison, looking for answers. This leads to some major issues…and you just need to read this to find out.

The intensity and anxiety the author creates in these novels is on target. I love a book that I can get lost in. Gregg Olsen does not disappoint.

The narrator, Karen Peakes is excellent. Great job on the pacing and the voices. Lots of characters and she kept everyone separated!

Need two good thrillers to take you away…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today!

I received these novels from the publisher for a honest review

As soon as I finished book in the series (Beneath Her Skin) I jumped right into this the very same night because I couldn't wait to read more! Another great story set in Port Gamble. I found myself liking this story just as much if not a little bit more than the last book. I have enjoyed finding out more about the twins and their powers. I really do enjoy all the characters different points of view. This mystery was just as good and there was actually a pretty big surprise when it comes to a certain character. I did figure out who the murderer was but the fun was in the story and seeing how these character's minds work. Another fantastic narration by Karen Peakes.

While I enjoyed this one, it was not as good as the first book. Hayley, Taylor and the cast were wonderful as usual. I just couldn't connect with the story. It didn't keep my engaged like the first book did. If you enjoyed the first book (Beneath Her Skin), you will probably really like this one. I did like it; I just didn't read it as fast. Looking forward to the next.

This is the second book in this series, and it think I liked the story better then the first, but somehow the characters got more annoying then the last book.
There, again, are a lot of story lines to keep track of. I am thankful it all wrapped up nicely though.
After an exchange student is murdered at a Halloween party the special gifted twins use their water powers to solve the crime.
The characters are not super likable, and that’s really my only complaint here.

Thank you NetGalley for the audio ARC.

'Dying to Be Her' by Gregg Olsen is the 2nd book about twins Hayley and Taylor Ryan with an unusual gift. I listened to the 1st book and I enjoyed it. I really liked this one as well! Even though it's really more of a Yound Adult Thriller, it's very entertaining. It does have a supernatural element but it is still a whodunnit. I don't like supernatural too much but I thought it was an interesting way to bring the 2 genres together.

I wish there were more of the books in this series and I really liked the author! I listened to a few more of his books and they are pretty wicked and twisty. I'm glad I got a chance to listen to this series and I hope there are more books about the twins. The narrator, Karen Peakes, did a great job as well. Thank you Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for providing me with an early copy of this audiobook.

When foreign exchange student Olivia Grant is found dead at the home of her best friend, Brianna Connors, the town is shaken to its core. The town is shaken, but Olivia's best friend is not. Shocked by Brianna's attitude towards her friends brutal murder, twins Hayley and Taylor Ryan get to work using their special abilities to find out as much as they can about Olivia's demise. Along the way, they discover that the killer isn't done yet and uncover more about their own past and the gifts they've had since birth.

Looking at the series, I enjoyed this book more than the first. It explains more about the girls gifts and their background, but it still leaves you with many questions about the same at the end. Even after trying to figure out who committed the murder, the twist at the end is surprising. I liked how smaller characters from the first book came back (shout out to segway man) even when new ones were introduced. Overall, a solid quick and easy read.

Thank you Bookouture Audio for providing me with a copy of this audiobook via NetGalley in exchange for my honest thoughts!

Gregg Olsen does it again! I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, and the second didn't disappoint either. He is a master storyteller, with the knack of bringing the scenes to life, and making you feel as though you are a part of it.

I look forward to more in this series!

Ths was a highly anticipated second title in the series. The audio was high quality and really engaging. Another who done it with physic twins trying to solve it along with dipping ibto their past.
I found this entertaining and the language and interactions .more accurate of the characters and more enjoyable as it was reflective of the age group. The plot itself was quite simple with the twins history thrown in randomly. Still want to hear more about the bus crash. The unveiling of secrets gave a bit more depth but made me want book 3 hope there us one to tie up the twins story. I foubd the would be murderers realistic but unconvincing at tge same time. The plot clearly had inspiration from the true crime of the amanda knox story.
This was a really quick listen for me which left me wanting more. At times yhe twins backstory list me from yhe main plot. Throughtly enjoyable and highly recommended as a quick listen fir anyone who likes a good mystery.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author and narrator for tgis lovely 5 star listen.

Thank you to Netgalley, Gregg Olsen and Bookouture for the Audio Arc of Dying to be her. This is the second in the series of the Port Gamble Chronicles and pretty much picks up from the first book several years later. Really love how descriptive Gregg is with the narrative, Its very gripping with a few twists and turns which keeps you engaged. The pacing of the story is great. You get a few steady parts and then it picks up pace with the twists and the pay off. Which, for me is great as it gives you chance to digest the story

As I listened to the Arc audio version which was narrated by Karen Peakes, the same narrator as the first book. Karen's voice suits this narrative well with great pacing. I still really enjoy the supernatural element with the twins, Hayley and Taylor. Looking forward to see if Gregg carries on these adventures with the twins within Port Gamble.

Nice solid 4.25 stars

The eerily psychic twins are back, and getting to the bottom of more murderous mysteries in Port Gamble, which appears to be mostly made up of obnoxious, entitled people both children and parents making for a fabulous melting pot of criminal intent.

Distinctly better than the previous novel, as some of the threads it left loose begin to tie together, there is still a lot going on, not least of which is the main puzzle of who killed exchange student Olivia and why. Which is more convoluted, but fitting than I anticipated,

I'll certainly be looking forward to the next book more now....

2nd in the series - I listened to this audio in quick succession of the first in the series and enjoyed it just as much.. again Gregg Olsen writes at times very dark chapters but I enjoy his writing none the less. This one follows a murder and again is filled with twisty thriller writing which left me wanting to listen until I finished the book.

Would recommend

4 stars

This is the 2nd story I read from author also the one featuring identical twins Haley and Taylor Ryan and their supernatural ability. This time the twins must prove that the death of an exchange student from England wasn't just Hallowen prank.

The writing is okay with extra descriptive narration. But I still can follow the story relative easily. I still dont feel any connection with the twins, I felt their character less flesh out. The repetition reminder about their twins and ability not make them extra memorable. I still thought their abilities is awesome and intriguing. The plot is entertaining enough to finished at one sitting but the pace slower than my usually like.

The audiobook is superb. I love the narrator and she doing well to help me get into the story easily. The intonation and pronunciation are clear, different voice for different characters will enrich the tunes.
Overall this is enjoyable read for readers who love YA mistery investigation with supernatural sprinkles.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture Audiofor providing a copy of this ebook. I have voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Expecting Publication : 5 Jan 2024
Previously published as Betrayal.

Dying to Be Her, by Gregg Olsen is the second audio book in the Port Gamble Chronicles series. It's a great "who done it" that kept me guessing. I actually liked this audio book better than the first. I think this story will be a big hit with the YA crowd. The Port Gamble Chronicles would make a great t.v. series too!

Liked this one just as much as the first. Didn't connect much with the dead girl but that's OK, the other characters had enough arc to keep me invested! Very good, enjoyed the story and the ending.

I read this book before reading the title before by mistake. It turned out ok, though as the novels work as stand-alone books. I would suggest not reading them too close together though because there is a lot of repetition to make this possible. That made it a little dull for me. This book was better than the first. A more believable story. The characters are strong but mostly pretty horrendous

Book 2 in the Port Gamble series is as interesting as the 1st one (Beneath her skin)

Olivia, a British exchange student didn't come to US from UK to die but when she is brutally stabbed and left dead on Brianna's bedroom the town is left shaken - who could have killed her and why? Also what does the tiny bit of tie stuffed in her mouth signify?
Why are Brianna and her boyfriend Drew acting like the death of a British exchange student is not affecting them at all, instead they are waltzing around trying to gain sypamthy, do some shopping!!
While they are being criticized and accused for their behavior, the twins Hayley and Taylor work on using their powers to figure out what happened to Olivia and who did it!

Thanks to Netgalley, Gregg Olsen, Bookouture Audio for audio ARC in exchange for honest review
