I love Olsen’s disturbing true crime books. In this fiction series, he does a great job of creating characters that are easy to hate.

I enjoyed Book 2, Dying To Be Her, a lot more than book 1 in this series. This story picks up a few months after book 1 ends. Another student at Hayley & Taylor’s high school is found dead. This time it’s a foreign exchange student. I found the story to be much more gripping and the character development better in book 2.

Overall, I would continue with this series, especially if the books continued to become stronger and more gripping thrillers.

Thank you @bookouture for allowing me to listen to the audiobook versions of this republished series, in exchange for my honest reviews.

good

This had a good plot and I did not expect the ending. However, I didn't care about any of the characters, good or bad. The image-obsessed teen, which should have been easy to hate, was written to be such a cliche that she didn't seem to be a real person. I listened to the audio book and found myself tuning out occasionally. The main characters are teens and this would be good for them (if they are OK with sex and violence). It is a solid book, but not the best I have read by this author.

This is very creepy and captivating! I didn't read the first book, but was still able to read this one just fine. I do wish I would've read them in order since it was a part of a series!
