This is one of my fave cozy series. I love the characters and the island. I was so excited that Lilia got her own story as I enjoyed her so much in the first book. I wasn't a huge fan of Ragnar In the beginning but he definitely grew on me as the book went on. I enjoyed the banter between him a Lilia and thought he was so sweet for looking out for her the way that he did. I love that this one turned into a little bit of a mystery and how they worked together to try to track down the missing ale. Lilia's dragon side kick is an absolute delight I loved all of his shenanigans. It was fun to get to see more of the island and the new town. This is a setting I would love to walking these books and just spend a week on vacation.

I'm always a fan of cozy fantasy books and this was no exception! The mystery element was a lot of fun, especially combined with the fantasy and romance. The plot wasn't overly complicated and was easy to keep up with which is what you want from this kind of book, although the characters were kind of hard to relate to. I would have liked a bit more spice but overall this was a cute wholesome read.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved book one in this series, and while this book had some fun elements that I loved about book 1, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I didn't connect to the characters as much as I did in Forged by Magic, and the romance felt a little forced. That said, I am going to continue with this series because I do enjoy this world and Jenna's writing.

I loved this cozy fantasy book. It was the perfect blend of cozy, fantasy, mystery, and romance. I really enjoyed the dynamic of the main characters, and even the minor characters. The world building was fantastic, and pulled me in and kept my interest. This was a super enjoyable read, and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

I am giving this 2.5 stars. I wish I had enjoyed it like other people, but it missed the mark for me. Even though it is marked as a standalone, I felt like I could have learned more about the world in the previous book (just speculating). This was a fast paced enemies to lovers book. The reason I did not give it more stars was because I didn't feel like there was a ton of substance, and I had a harder time connecting with the characters. Also the plot seemed to switch directions a few times which seemed unnecessary and confusing.

The overall gist is that there is an annual festival that our FMC (Lilia) attends every year. En route to said festival, she meets a man who she finds an instant connection with. However, she doesn't get his name and in the morning, he is gone. She finds him a few hours later at the festival in HER spot. She is enraged but overruled when she asks the board of the festival to move his spot. After finding Lilia sneaking in his wagon to gain some info on her competition, Ragnar. He finds her and blackmails her into some of her ale which goes missing the next day from his wagon. Now they are working together to determine who stole the ale so the festival can go on.

The person who was ultimately trying to ruin the festival was a surprise but disappointing. There was a lot of buildup to several areas of the plot that then fell flat. This just wasn't for me unfortunately. I do want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Brewed in Magic is the second book in the Falling for Fables series. Honestly, I enjoyed the first book a bit more, but I really enjoyed going back into the cozy fantasy world. My biggest negative was my struggle to connect with the protagonist; I wanted a bit more character development in general. Grab this book if you enjoy cozy fantasy, enemies-to-lovers, dragons, having a mystery to solve, a fast pace, and lots of great banter.

Lilia, with her Traveling Tavern and a dragon for company, embraces her wanderlust despite longing for deeper connections. When she meets a charming stranger on her journey to a winter festival, she believes she's found a kindred spirit until he disappears without a word, only to reappear as her rival. As they join forces to uncover a saboteur threatening the festival, Lilia must decide if she can trust him with her heart. "Brewed in Magic" is a stand-alone cozy romantasy set in the whimsical world of Falling for Fables.

This book felt like a warm hug! I've recently read some cozy fantasy and there's definitely something to be said for a low stakes fantasy read when you're in the mood! If you love rivals-to-lovers, whimsical worlds, dragons -- this one's for you!

Pitched as a hallmark movie in a cosy fantasy setting and that's what it was. Cute set up, cute couple, good chemistry. Not very spicy if that's not your thing, just all around wholesome.

3.5⭐️ | Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

This was a really cute and cozy read, perfect for the Winter since it’s set in a town that celebrates Yule, a winter festival.

As much as this was a fun and quick read, I would have liked to learn a bit more about the Yule festival and it’s visitors/those who set up their stalls so that i’d be more invested in the plot of “saving” the festival.

The enemies became friends at 35% of the book and it was too quick for my liking.

I liked Lilia, but didn’t really like Ragnar. He keeps thinking about her hips and at one point, I got tired of it, it gave me the ick.

The plot where Ragnar was trying to pay off his brother’s debt was a little weak to me.

It also felt like the ending was rushed as the conflict between Ragnar and Lar was resolved quite abruptly.

Over all, if it was a little bit longer with more details on the world, characters and their motives - I would feel more invested 🙂

When I first started reading this book, it took me a while to get into because I did not find the story too captivating but as it went on the plot started to come together and my attention was hooked. As I got towards the last third of the book, the plot started to drop and so did my interest. I think the reason that my interest dropped throughout the book was because it didn’t seem to be what I was expecting and although it was somewhat enjoyable I did not find the story all too captivating.

Thanks netgalley for a review copy! ♡

Jenna did it again, she wrote an even cozier book!
The fables series is perfect for everyone who wants to be hugged by a warm blanket and dream of a cozy fantasy world.
So make a cup is steaming tea (or magical beer!) And off to the new world you go!
I for sure am going to buy this one physical as well!

I would suggest reading book 1 before book 2 even tough they are stand alones there are slight spoilers for the ending of book 1 (because we follow the sister from the MMC of that book).

As I became a fan of cosy fantasy after reading Travis Baldree’s books, I had to check out this novel. Brewed in Magic is another low-stakes fantasy story with plot twists, humour and a dragon. Most of all, it’s a romance that starts with the main characters as rivals, but they soon begin to work together, trying to find whoever stole their supplies. It is a cosy and relaxing read you want to enjoy with a cup of tea or something stronger, as the plot revolves around the stolen alcohol.

Loved this even more than the last book! A cozy and light read, and the plot is executed in a way that is enjoyable and not frustrating for the reader. Fingers crossed for a third book! 💞

2.5 stars
This wasn’t bad. It was mostly just too long. Cozy fantasy feels, but not a lot really happens for it to be as long as it is. Which 265 pages doesn’t seem very long, but this was too long.
2 very short spicy scenes. They were pretty close to the end. It was supposed to be her first time but it didn’t come with the conversation and the astonishment that I usually like with these kind of stories. 18+

Anticlimactic ending

ARC kindly provided through NetGalley but all my thoughts are my own.

This is a low stakes, sweet, cosy fantasy. Lilia is a traveling tavern owner on her way to an annual festival. She meets Ragnar on the road bot realizing he's a rival of hers. she's irritated by this at first but after some tavern crimes they team up together to solve the case.

this was cute. I'm not a huge cost fantasy lover but I see the appeal. it was a sweet story and I liked the leads. I don't think I fell in love with this book but it could just be its not quite for me.

I really wanted to like this fast-paced cozy fantasy, but I just didn't connect with the main characters. Lillia and Ragnar's dynamic is rivals to lovers--which is usually 100% my thing--but their chemistry didn't feel real/honest(?) enough for me to be fully invested in them or their romance. Overall, there were a lot of things that felt underdeveloped and so I was never invested in the story. Lastly, I didn't read the first book, so I don't know if it would've influenced my enjoyment of this sequel, but on it's own, the sequel didn't work for me.

I actually loved this book way more than the first novel in Falling for Fables. I thought the two main characters in this one, Lilia and Ragnar clicked much more and found their romance a lot more sweet and tender.

The missing ale was an interesting spin but I was disappointed when we learn who’s behind it. It just felt kind of silly. The last book suffered the same issue, the wrap up feels flat and forced. Not only that but it gets resolved so quickly it just feels too rushed. I also can’t help but feel there are some major plot holes in the story.

Once again the cover is absolutely beautiful. They keep sucking me in and I’m sure I’ll be reading the next novel. I enjoyed this one much better than the previous in the Falling for Fables novels.
