Book 2 in the Dirty Blood series. You must read Bite the Woman that Feeds (book 1) prior to reading this.

Bite the Terror that Feeds picks right up where Bite the Woman that Feeds leaves off. I really liked that we meet some new characters and get some different POVs in this title. I really enjoyed the world building in this title as well, meeting the different Vampire "clans" and where they live. Good amount of spice in this one as well.

Definitely leaves off on a cliffhanger... you'll want book 3 ready to go when you're done!

"Bite the Terror That Feeds," the second book in the Dirty Blood series, offers a compelling mix of urban fantasy and supernatural intrigue. The narrator effectively brings the characters and their emotions to life, enhancing the experience.

While the plot is engaging, some pacing issues made parts feel drawn out. However, the character development shines, with evolving relationships that kept me invested.

Overall, I’d rate this audiobook 3.5 out of 5 stars. It’s a solid continuation of the series for fans, though it may not be as impactful as the first book. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

This was a great follow up to book one. I enjoyed watching the characters grow and getting some new povs. The additional world building gave the whole story more depth. The narrators continue to please as well.

The war is heating up, but is it the war between Kingsnake and Larrisa or the war between the races that will be the end of them. The last book left off with Kingsnake and Larrisa not speaking to each other and that is where this book picks up. The dialogue is much improved and more cohesive in this book and the characters more fully developed. I have to say that while the actual snake, Fang, is still one of my favorite characters, Cobra, Kingsnake's brother definitely moves up the list as a favorite as well. We also get a new love interest for Cobra, but that relationship is likely doomed from the start since they are on opposite sides of a long-standing feud. The bedroom aerobics are ever present and decent, but get repetitive. We get it, Cobra has a big d*ck, you don't have to repeat it over and over. Seriously grab a thesaurus and get more descriptive. That is really my biggest criticism though, as the book is advancing the storyline and the action gets really exciting in the war. Now if only Kingsnake and Larissa can get it together to admit their feelings...or maybe they do....you'll have to read to find out! I will say that the author did an outstanding job of bringing Larissa's strength as a person much more fully to life creating a character you can really get behind and cheer on! Ultimately, you should just read the book to find out for yourself. I mean if you read the first book, surely you can't stop at the beginning of the series! It's like eating one potato chip, it just can't or rather shouldn't be done! Seriously, this book does a wonderful job of advancing the characters, giving us more enticing dialogue, moves the action along and still gives us plenty of steam to warm us up from the tips of toes to the end of our hair! I'm still following this series by audiobook and the narration is still a key point to making this book truly enjoyable for me. The narration definitely adds a dimension to the book by bringing it to life! Now then, I'm off to devour book 3!!!

I somehow completely skipped this book but didn't feel like I missed anything on the third. Don't love that for this series.

Overall I think there's a lot of promise, the spicy scenes are written very well. But the world building, how the characters are very all over the place, seemingly medieval but modern speak? I like the snake the best.

This is the review of Bite the Terror that Feeds written by Penelope Barsetti. I got the audiobook from Netgalley. Upon reading the last book I wanted to know the story of Larissa and Kindsnake but I got a surprise in this book. This book introduced a second lead couple which is more interesting than the main couple. They are much more fun plus the plot thickens in the world of Vampires and Ethereals.

Giving this book 5 stars. You can also read the detailed review in my blog post.

Book #2 in this series is a bit better than the first book. We have already established a bit of the world and who the characters are. We ended with Larissa being "betrayed" by Kingsnake and she was never going to do anything for him again. That lasted 2 short chapters and 3 weeks of book time. After that crazy business is out of the way Larissa and Kingsnake go about their plans for war and cures. Their story is about half of the book. Then we also have another couple that enters the fray. Cobra (Kingsnakes' brother and King of the Mountains) and a mysterious Elf Assassin whom Cobra fixates on. This relationship is him hoping that his abilities in the sack are enough to keep her interested in staying with him, and hopefully learn secrets along the way. We get to meet another brother and the father of Cobra, Viper, and Kingsnake. I am assuming the series will eventually have all the brothers with someone whom they will bribe to bed them and then fall in love with their over-endowed genitals. Luckily this book is as much gratuitous and awkward sex. Though we still have plenty. The storyline is a bit more interesting and pulled me in more than the first one. Is it weird that my favorite character is the snake? Overall, fun read, with plenty of spice as well as an action scene or two. More plot movement occurred in this book as well.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I have been waiting for a long time to get into this series and as soon as I got the audiobook for book 2, I had to dive in! It was a lot of fun and definitely worth the read. The audiobook was fantastic and the narrator did such a great job with the narration! Can't wait to continue this series.

In this gripping audiobook narrated by Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo, I was completely absorbed in the dark, twisted world of Larisa and Kingsnake. Their complex relationship, filled with deceit and broken promises, captivated me. As I delved deeper, I was thrilled by the introduction of new, intriguing characters like Cobra and Clara, each adding layers to the intense story. The character development was astonishing, especially witnessing Larisa's transformation into a formidable force. The blend of romance, supernatural conflict, and the looming threat of a devastating plague kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see how the series unfolds, especially after such a tantalizing setup!

If you love vampire movies/shows, THIS right here gives you all the vibes! I literally could not stop listening to it! You’ll love every bit of this book!

Be sure to read the first one before this!

Whoa! Talk about intense! This one follows Larissa and Kingsnake, but also introduces us to Cobra and Clara (Ethereal Royalty). We learn about their other brother and father as well. Full of adventure, spice, and snarky banter. And that ending 🤯 Definitely starting the next book asap!

This book was a rollercoaster of moments, some that had me completely engrossed and others that fell totally flat. Larissa’s characterisation was sadly something that fell flat; she became irritating and sometimes plain stupid. At times I enjoyed reading about her for her passionate and principled outlook at life, but then she would put herself and her group in danger by making dumb decisions and speaking up at such inopportune moments that even Kingsnake had to tell her to shut it at points. I would not have been surprised if she had punched a vampire in the face and then started singing ‘Fight Song’ at one point…

One of my favorite parts of this book was the addition of the Cobra and Clara storylines. I felt like their relationship and dynamic was both entertaining to read, but also pushed the plot in a different direction, and opened up the world to an entire new group and region. I’m excited to see where their story goes in the next book, especially after a certain event in the last few chapters.

My other criticisms are largely the same as my critiques for the first book. At one point Larissa, who is living in a historic, almost medieval, time period called someone a ‘punk-ass bitch’; I had to take a deep breath and pause the book for a moment with that one. There were also far too many long-winded sex scenes in this book which I felt took away from the plot simply because they took up so much of the word count.

The second book in the Dirty Blood series was absolutely amazing! The character depth, the world building, and the romance all tied together in a great book. My only complaint is that the FMC’s are a bit more unlikeable in this book - they get dick one time and forget all their personal values. It ended on a major cliffhanger and I am absolutely counting down the days until the next one.

Thank you for the opportunity of receiving an ARC, and I am leaving this review willingly.

This was fun, not as good as the first for me but I enjoy the main couples story.

I would have preferred more voice changes with the introduction of the new characters. But I was able to follow along well enough with out.

thank you for the opportunity to review this book.

I DNF this book at about 30 percent
i felt it was pretty one dimensional
and didn’t hold my attention
i felt the concept was intriguing but there wasn’t enough to the story to make me feel like continuing !

Dive into Bite the Terror That Feeds for a sequel with all the vampire drama you crave. Larissa's still in the thick of it, dealing with Kingsnake and leaving us with burning questions. The plot thickens, and family dynamics get more tangled. Spice alert! The intimate scenes are 🔥, but the adventure keeps you hooked.

Props to Barsetti for adding more perspectives, giving the story depth. The cliffhanger ending leaves us wanting more. Overall, a rollercoaster of vampire lore and romantic tension. Perfect for a blood-pumping audio experience. 🧛‍♂️✨

Many questions are still unanswered and I'm starting to wonder exactly why.

Thank you to the author, NetGalley, & Dreamscape Media for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own and always honest and constructive.

After the exciting first book in this series I was eager to jump in to the next. I will say I continue to like this series, but there was a bit too many times that I sighed because I was hoping for some answers to some of my nagging mysteries from book one. Examples like why in the world doesn't Kingsnake have a real name? For that matter why does no one wonder about what his true name is? He and all his snake brothers would have had real names before they became who they are. For that matter what is the deal with the original vampire (their father)? How did he come to be what he is and how did he know he could make more like himself? Why aren't his sons immortal like he is? What is it about Larissa's blood (besides the fact that she was bitten by a gold snake) that makes the vamp eyes turn green and they get super enhanced power when they feed from her? Most of these question I can overlook, although annoying, but my questions about Fang are nagging little bites I can't help but itch. Why is it that only Kingsnake (not the other brothers) can talk to him telepathically? Why is Fang not like other snakes? I mean he plays card games without hands...how the f!?!?!? Why is it that Larissa can speak with Fang telepathically as well when her special gift (which also is a bit of a ?) is to read emotions, not speak into the mind or know the mind, not exactly anyway?
JUST SO SO MANY QUESTIONS that could be easily answered without some huge reveal. Just sayin!

No Regrets!!!!

We pick up right where we left off in the last book, and I’m glad I had access to both of them so I didn’t have to wait long to start this one. This time we’re off on an adventure to find the cure and I liked being able to see more of the country and meet more of Kingsnakes family.

There’s plenty of action and mystery to keep you interested and the plot moving along. If there was one thing I wasn’t a huge fan of (in both books actually, now that I think about it) was the spice… the number of times they said “big 🍆 “ or that he folded her in half, like… get some new moves!! Haha. Yeah.

We got to see some new POV’s in this book and I am guessing that is going to lead into other books in the series. It does finish on a bit of a cliffhanger, so interested to see where we go from here.

Thanks to #NetGallery and publisher for a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.25 Stars 🌟

This has been the nice surprise series of my week. I wasn't really sure what to expect with the first book, but it definitely peaked my interest and kept my attention. The second book did more of the same. I am enjoying getting to better understand Kingsnake and trying to figure out the familial relations with this bunch.

On a side note, this is written in the same world as another of her series (can't think of the name at this particular moment) and I was trying desperately in my mind to remember the particulars of the circumstances where things were left. I remembered The Teeth, (sort of) but it was frustrating for me that I KNEW that I knew more information, but couldn't bring it forward in my mind. I'm probably going to go back and reread my reviews from that series before the next book so I can feel a little better equipped. Unfortunately, when you read 400 + books a year, sometimes you lose the details of some of them.

Another winner. I was pleasantly surprised by Aurelias in this one and Cobra and Viper are definitely growing on me. Can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

I enjoyed this audiobook more than the first book. I felt like there was a little bit more substance to this story. I really enjoyed the addition of 2 new POVs as well and getting another enemies to lovers mini romance forming.

I did enjoy the narrators and can't wait for book 3 audio to come out so that I may continue this story!
