**please note due to low rating I will not be leaving a public review for this book as I have not paid for it.**

Narrated by Rachel Handshaw ⭐⭐⭐
Novel by Angela Henry 2.5 ⭐⭐

This book was ok. I might have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for this particular narrator who I felt seriously over acted the characters which ruined the story for me.

This is my first time trying Angela Henry. Even though this book didn't take me I would definitely try another book.

I will say though the very very end was a interesting surprise.

📚 Review: The Perfect Affair 💔
This book was just okay for me. I think I was expecting more and/or something different than it was. I just didn’t think it was really thrilling at all. I wanted to like it but it just wasn’t for me. I thought the narrator did a great job. Would’ve been better if there was a female and a male narrator. I was confused at times who was talking. Even though it said it in the beginning of each chapter, it still was confusing at times. I am still thankful to @netgalley and @dreamscapemedia for this opportunity to listen to this early. I rated this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars.

"The Perfect Affair" is a quick, twisty thriller that's great for a plane ride or snowed-in afternoon where you want the pages to fly by fast. Set mostly in academia, Aaron Nichols has just been promoted to head of his department. Seeking support in his new role, he begins an affair with his colleague, Cara Morton. Shortly after his wife Paige discovers the affair, Cara goes missing, and Aaron is the number one suspect. The first-person narrative switches between Aaron, Paige, and the detective on the case.

This one won't be making my favorites list, because I found by the end that I simply didn't care about the characters and wasn't much bothered over what happened to them. Nonetheless, it certainly fit the bill for an entertaining listen. This was the first book by Angela Henry that I've read and I'd love to try some others.

I listened to this book on audio, and found the narration done well, though slightly harder to follow with just a single narrator. Because it is narrated by a female, I often missed the switch to Aaron's POV and would pick it up a little late based on context. Overall, though, no complaints!

Thank you to Netgalley, Dreamscape, and Storm Publishing for providing an advance copy of this book; this review reflects my honest opinions.

Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Dreamscape Select for the gifted audiobook! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Multiple POV, dark pasts, slow burn, past and present timelines

I enjoyed this one. I listened to the audiobook. It was a good suspenseful read, even funny at times. It did get a bit confusing at times because it jumps all over in timeline and POV. I had no idea where it was going, honestly. I highly recommend it!

This was a great read with lots of twists and turns. It had me guessing how it was all connected. There were a lot of characters that confused me a bit when all the stories intertwined. Finding out who done it and how it was done was a fun surprise.

This was an entertaining, twisty, fast paced psychological thriller.

Happily married couple Aaron and Paige have eight year old twins. Their lives are typically busy of a young family with professional jobs. When Aaron receives a promotion, the pressure of their already busy lives vamps up.

Paige can feel the pressure on their lives, and feels that their relationship is drifting apart. Surprising her husband and attending a faculty reception, it becomes clear to Paige that her husband is having an affair with a colleague. After the initial devastation, the couple work together to attempt to repair their relationship, with Aaron affirming that he will cease all communication with Dr. Cara Morton - his mistress.

But when Cara goes missing … Aaron is the prime suspect in her disappearance.

Full of secrets, lies, betrayals and wicked twists, this is one I highly recommend you go into blind. This was my first book by the author and look forward to what they come out with next.

My one disappointment was with the narration. While Rachel Handshaw did a great job, I felt it would have been better with a male narrator for the part of Aaron.

Many thanks to Dreamscape, Storm Publishing and NetGalley for an ALC 🎧
Out now.

This book truly was a wild ride full of twists and turns. I feel like I didn’t trust almost any of the characters initially, and many of my instincts were right; I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that several of them were hiding things. I enjoyed the story, including the partial academic setting, and would definitely read more from this writer in the future.

This book is chock full of unreliable characters - - jealous wives, husbands that can't be trusted and other sketchy characters. If you were presented with the question of "what would you do to protect your family?" - - what would you be willing to do?

This book is completely twisty with a husband drawn to a co-worker to the extent that he shirks all responsibilities at home and makes his wife feel neglected and barely pays his children any attention. The story is complicated when she figures out that he has a relationship going on with another woman and gives him an ultimatum. It gets further chaotic when the other woman begins to do crazy things to him and the family. And this is only the beginning....

I really enjoyed this twisty little tale about infidelity and all the nasty repercussions. Even though I am often tired of reading the same stories about men that can't seem to be loyal, this one had some good twists to it that made it a good and different read.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I really enjoyed the audiobook. It was well narrated and kept me engrossed in the story. It's definitely worth a listen. 4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the ebook and audiobook.

This book was a hot mess! I think it was the case of a decently interesting plot with bad execution. We had a lot of characters with tenuous connections and relevant pasts, several different affairs, child abuse, spousal abuse, elderly abuse, oh so much abuse. All of these people suck. I think maybe that was the biggest problem, I genuinely didn't care about any of them. The missing person, Cara, was one of the worst so it was hard to really be worried about who offed her. If you don't want potential spoilers, stop reading now.

We get two main perspectives through out the book, Aaron Nichols, the accused, and Paige, his wife. There are so many other characters, and it's hard to keep up with them all. But they all tie together in the end, sort of. The bouncing back and forth and all the connections are also confusing, and didn't really add a lot. It could have been more simple and more suspenseful. I also thought the ending was too convenient/lazy. Might as well have had a complete stranger who wasn't in the book until the last chapter be the killer. A few times we also get the cops' perspective, and I think that should have been edited out of the book. It really didn't give me anything but anxiety when she aggressively accused Aaron of doing it. It was pretty clear throughout the book that he wasn't to blame.

This book was a miss for me, unfortunately. Thank you for the opportunity to review the ARC.

I didn’t really enjoy this book. It was very drawn out and repetitive, all revolving around infidelity. All of the “surprises” in the book didn’t make me want to read further. In fact, this book left me with a bad taste in my mouth. None of the characters were likable or had any real depth. I ended up putting the audiobook to as fast as a speed as I could listen, just to finish it.

The narrator was good for one singular female voice, but should not have been used for the male voice. There should have been two narrators, because the man spoke most of the time and it was voiced by a female who could not speak deeply. It made it confusing and awkward.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for letting me sample the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Aaron and Paige, the perfect couple for the outside world, knew their relationship is fading. Paige got wind of Aaron’s possible affair with his coworker Cara. Felt like a simple cheating husband story until Cara mysteriously went missing without a trace.

Being caught by Paige is no more a worry for Aaron as he becomes one of the prime suspects in Cara’s case. Is Aaron capable of murder? Paige is determined to hold her family together and cannot let an affair ruin her family.

Paige is trying her best to stand by her husband, but she knows her husband can keep secrets but she is so, Paige has her own dark secrets.

Someone surely is lying, or all are because everyone has a motive. Both Aaron and Paige are secretly investing the case and are determined to get to the truth but what they discover is shocking.

Told in POVs of Aaron and Paige with dual before and after timeline, this story is of no ordinary cheating husband. With many characters, with all having their secrets, the plot was full of suspense, mystery, past connections, family drama.

This book was interesting but it wasn’t believable towards the end. The means did not justify the end.

My thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to review this audio book.

This audio started as a 3 star for me but quickly graduated to a 4 star! Paige Nichols suspects her husband Aaron is having an affair with co worker Cara Morton. Cara later disappears and book starts to jump.all over the place with Before and Afters, which was kind of confusing to follow along. Narrator was really good though.

I started to see elements of predictable events, like Cara allegedly sabotaging Aaron's life with various things when he goes back to his wife. It reminded me of elements of Fatal.Attraction, but then things took some turns I really did not expect. All in all a decent listen.

I thought the premise of this was pretty interesting. I don't know if I loved how it was done though. This book for me was just okay. Nothing to special. I think I would read more from this author in the future.

The Perfect Affair tells the story of Paige Nichols and her husband Aaron. Aaron finds himself caught up in an affair with his glamourous new colleague, Cara Morton, but things take a turn when he tries to call it off. Then, Cara disappears and Aaron is a prime suspect, but everyone has their own secrets.

I enjoyed this book and found it easy to get into, but it soon became quite complex and harder to follow. I'm not sure if this is because I was listening to the audiobook or the way it was written. I liked the characters and was invested in what happened to them, but just felt it lacked a little something.

My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ALC in return for an honest review.
