This was a brilliant story full of culture and life. This story follows Roberto on a journey through his dreams. While in his dreams we see the amazing world his family is from . We get to explore the culture, the sounds, the sights and the magic . I am in love with this story. Not only does it have vibrant bright illustrations but we are moved as if we are in the dream with Roberto and his family. We learn about the food, the music, his Abulea’s garden and all the magic from the Mexican village. We just can’t get enough of this story. So wonderfully written and easy for children of all ages to understand. My son loves imagining he is there with Roberto. This was a wonderful way to introduce him to new cultures and experiences. I highly recommend adding this to your home collection. I also believe this would be wonderful in an early childhood or elementary school classroom. The possibilities are endless to continue the story in the classroom.

Beautiful illustrations. I like the idea of this book in general, the cultural information, and so on, but it was a little hard to follow. Each page has a completely new adventure without any transition to the new part of the dream. Other than that, great book.
