This is a fun and funny book that kept me entertained throughout the whole book. With a bit of flirting, a bit steamy and at times emotional, this is a book that took me no time at all to read. Great characters which kept me interested and loved the conference fling theme of the book.

Great Australian location, fun characters and a quick and easy read. Enjoyed it and had some fun reading it.

Thank you NetGalley and Escape Publishing for giving me the opportunity to rad and review this book.

What happens at the conference, stays at the conference… right?

For months now, Jules has been swooning over a guy in different department at the publishing house she works at. She’s never met him and doesn’t even know what he looks like. But his voice, humour, and music taste has her crushing on him hard whenever he calls for IT help. When she’s asked to attend a conference to fill in for her boss, she’s excited at the prospect of finding new inspiration in a role she’s starting to feel is becoming stale. And adding to the excitement is meeting her conference buddy, Cam, who just happens to be her unseen office crush. The pair are excited by the prospect of finally getting to know one another, but things take an awkward turn on the drive from Canberra to Sydney when Jules mentions having a ‘conference fling’, a suggestion by her besties to finally get back on the horse. The last thing she expects is Cam to agree to be her fling for the four days of the conference. But between meddling siblings, former colleagues and long-held feelings, it’s not long before the lines between a fling and something more are blurred, and Cam and Jules are soon faced with the reality of leaving the conference bubble.

Office and workplace romances are an absolute VIBE! Georgia’s debut novel serves up everything to love about a workplace romance but make is Aussie! This was such an easy and fun romance, with a healthy splash of spice, as we take the romance out of the office to a conference where anything goes for those four days of the conference…

I was hoping for so much out of this book, but it just didn’t really hit the spot - it felt like it was missing something, but I can’t really put my finger on what that was. Cam and Jules had some sweet chemistry, but I kind of wish we had gotten to see a little of their relationship and connection when they were just flirting over the phone before they met face-to-face. At times, their pairing didn’t quiet hit the mark, but I think it could have been better had we truly seen the evolution of their relationship, rather than just hearing about that initial connection after the fact - two co-workers falling in love over the phone, having never met in person, then they find out they’re spending the week at a conference together? THAT’S the kind of office romance that’s swoon-worthy! We skipped over the feet-kicking fluff that would have added so much more to Cam and Jules’ story.

In saying that, once we got into everything, Cam and Jules did have some sweet chemistry, some very swoony moments, and plenty of spice, which you would definitely expect in a book about colleagues hooking up while at a work conference! Out of the bedroom, the pair have an easy banter and a massive love of 80s synth-pop. Their drawn-out miscommunication about the parameters of their relationship did bring down their chemistry a little, but I enjoyed how their stories came together in the end.

Now, while I read mostly books set in first person, I’m not opposed to romance written in 3rd person. But recently, a tweet went around the book community where someone was complaining about not knowing that a book was written in third person and present tense, and that they couldn’t read and enjoy the book because of it. I hadn’t really given much thought to how a POV is written in terms of person and tense, but I couldn’t help but notice it when reading this, which did annoy me a little - I definitely wouldn’t have given it a second thought had it not been a talking point in the book community recently! I couldn’t totally vibe with the writing, and I don’t know if that’s down to Georgia’s writing style or being overly aware of the person/tense it was written in… I’ll have to give Georgia another go with her next release!

If you’re a sucker for workplace romances and what to get some more romance set in Australia on your TBR, this is one you definitely need to check out!

Mixing Business and Pleasure
Have you ever had a work crush? Someone you looked forward to seeing at the office. Someone to chit chat with in the kitchen while grabbing a cup of coffee. Someone whose presence takes that chip off of your shoulder and makes the work week more bearable.

I definitely have, and I feel like I’d challenge anyone who said they didn’t.

“Four Night Stand” pushes the envelope of what a work crush is, though. Cam and Jules have a phone-only relationship through Cam’s need for tech support. There has been no physical contact, they don’t know what the other looks like, and they have never interacted in person… until fate steps in and sends them both to the same work conference in Sydney.

Not to mention, once Jules’ friends Cat and Tori catch wind of the fact that their friend will be spending a significant amount of time with her crush, they not only egg her on, but they help devise a plan that will surely succeed in getting Cam to fall for Jules.

“Here’s your plan. Step one is flirt, while sober, and see how he responds. Step two is –“

“Sex,” Tori says.

“Tori! You can’t jump straight into sex from flirting!” Jules argues.

“Why not?” Tori shrugs. “I do it all the time. Works out brilliantly.”
The writing is on the wall, folks. We all know what’s going to happen with smitten colleagues.

The Conference
Most of the setting of this novel is at the conference in Sydney. I thought that with this being a workplace romance, that we’d have more of the inner workings of their mutual employer and there would be casual flirting while overcoming company issues and presentation pot holes.

Not the case.

Jules lets her anxiety rule while in the car with Cameron on the drive down, and just blurts out that her friends think she should have a conference fling. Cam quickly agrees and they get to work… down to business… you know what I mean.

The traveler in me was excited for all of the time that Jules and Cam spent outside of their work responsibilities. I especially loved their trip to the Sydney Operate House and I wish that I was able to visit it, too.

Looking A Little Deeper
While the premise of the novel isn’t hard to miss, there is also depth to our two main characters that round out the story from the fun found on the surface. Anxiety, fear, and baggage are ever-present throughout the novel. Our characters need to deal with their past before they have a shot at a successful future.

‘I don’t want to be the guy that keeps running away from shit,’ he says. ‘I want to be able to talk about my emotions and my fears. Of spiders and more serious stuff. I want to talk to you. I want to talk with you.’
The side characters in this novel really open up the backstory of our hero and heroine, especially Cam’s sisters. The two girls really brought the sibling relationship to life. Additionally, Jules’ relationship with her besties felt very authentic to how I interact with my best friends.

The regional dialogue used in “Four Night Stand” also really brought the story to life. Our characters use phrases like “far out” and tossing items “in the bin”, which might seem like a silly thing to notice, but to me it helped place me inside the story, and not just reading it.

Final Thoughts
“Four Night Stand” has very quick pacing. The characters are pretty much always on the move, which lead to faster page turning to see where they’d be heading off to next. I do wish that there would have been a little more groundwork laid about Jules and Cam’s phone relationship prior to them meeting at the announcement of their trip. Laying the foundation with some on the page flirting might have helped me buy in more to their happy ever after.

Thank you for the ARC.

I absolutely love reading Australian authors and this one did not disappoint. I fell in love with the characters each time and I’m so excited for another book by Moore.

This book! So freaking good! Cameron and Jules are colleagues who have been chatting on the phone for months, but finally meet face to face. Then have to go to a conference together 👀
Fling to friends to partners, EXCELLENT character growth, dual POV, spicy and so much tension, really wonderful characters, “it’s just a fling!” 😏 Okay haha. One thing I particularly loved was the friendships and sibling relationships and how important they were in carrying the story forward and helping Jules and Cameron grow. Loved this so much!

Thanks to NetGalley and Escape Publishing for the chance to read this book.

This debut novel from Georgia Moore is a workplace romance featuring Jules and Cameron. There is plenty of spice, but it's balanced out by some really down to earth sweet moments. Throw in some drama and lack of communication, and you have a story that you can easily figure out where it's headed, but you don't mind and enjoy the journey along the way.

It is an enjoyable read for those who love a romance novel with spice, but not in an in-your-face kind of way.

This was a really cute story 🥰

Although the story was only set over a week (four nights 😉), the story didn’t feel rushed or unrealistic. And even though their relationship was very sex-focused, I did fell like there was enough chemistry between the characters to want to see more from them.

I do feel like there was infuriatingly, a little too much ‘lack of communication’ towards the end, but Cameron definitely redeemed himself.

I enjoyed the character development of both main characters, with Jules stepping out of her comfort zone and Cameron getting out of his head and acknowledging his insecurities 🥰🫶🏻

I also really liked Cameron’s meddling sisters and the role that they played in Jules and Cameron’s relationship 🥰

I am obsessed with all of the Sydney Opera House scenes!! 🔥🥵

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely read more from this author in the future!!

Thankyou to @netgalley, @escapepublishing and of course @georgiamoore for this advanced review copy.

Georgia Moore is a new to me author and I was keen to check out her book, Four Night Stand. Bringing together two protagonists who had each sworn off relationships after being burned by previous partners, This story focuses on the intense physical attraction between Jules and Cameron. These two work for Infinity Publishing, Jules as an IT specialist and Cameron as a marketing guru. I liked that the attraction between them started with lengthy work phone calls, purportedly so that Jules could help Cameron with IT issues, though they soon discovered shared interests. I liked that these conversations led to each of them imagining taking things to the next step and I loved the zing they felt when they finally met in person and discovered they would be attending a conference together. I think that the way the story is set up it will appeal to a younger audience than me. I’m not one for discussing my planned or actual sex life with third parties, which Jules seems to do regularly. I also felt that both Jules and Cameron could have been fleshed out more to build greater reader empathy For me they seemed a little two-dimensional and their story rather slow I really tried to get into the book but gave up half way through. Sadly, this one just wasn’t for me,

Thank you to the author, Escape Publishing and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This debut novel is a quick read with one of the classic rom-com tropes of forced proximity and then falling into lust, which develops into feelings. However, it felt very light on character and very heavy and lust/sex - and there was way too much and too long of teasing of past experiences on both sides that caused major misunderstandings and anxiety to both main characters.

Absolutely adored this one, it was so much fun to read and I loved that it was Georgia’s debut novel, you hit the ball out of the park.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this one, loved every moment!

Georgia Moore’s debut is finally here & it delivers on all the sweetness, steam and delicious sexual tension promised!

Georgia Moore was praised by Australian romance royalty Clare Fletcher & Karina May on The Rom Com Pod for her ability to write sexual tension & sexy scenes & they are absolutely right! The tension builds across a Sydney work conference where colleagues Jules & Cameron agree on a ‘conference friends with benefits’ arrangement & soon become overcome by lust.

The premise of the story is set out immediately within the first few pages & I love that the back story revealed the history between the two lovers (though I admit that I would have loved to have seen more of these two interacting at work in the lead up. I’d have happily read a few more chapters!)

FOUR NIGHT STAND is fun, steamy and heartfelt - everything I want from a romance read! It’s set mostly in Sydney & I do love a hometown book!

Romance readers, you must check out this Aussie debut!

Thank you so much to @georgiamoorewriter #escape publishing and @netgalley for sending me an e-book copy to review

In short, I really enjoyed it. From the very first chapter, I was laughing and fully invested in the story. I especially loved that it is set in Australia and featured places I have been to and experienced myself.

Jules and Cam were both well fleshed-out characters, as were many of the side characters. Cam's sisters were definitely some of my favourites.

I always like to support Aussie writers when I can, especially when it’s their debut novel and this is one story I’ll be thinking about for a while.

Jules and Cameron were so cute together as they were getting to know each other, and who doesn’t love a workplace fling?! The banter was amusing, and the backdrops of Canberra and Sydney were fun to explore.

Both characters were still dealing with past relationship hurt which often brought misunderstandings to their relationship/situation. Cameron, especially, I wanted to slap a few times to knock some sense into him.

The open-door spice was hot, and all the side characters were a delight and helped move the plot forward.

Congratulations Georgia Moore on your debut novel!
Thank you @netgalley and @escapepublishing/harlequinaus for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

✨2024 BOOK REVIEW✨

📚Four Night Stand - Georgia Moore📚

I am obsessed with this book!! It was just SO GOOD!! All the stars!! 😍😍😍 it included my new favourite book couple, Cameron and Jules! I could not get enough of them. Oh, and the side characters were just as cute and fleshed out - I loved the sisters and the friends so much! Omg and Matteo. So good!!

Georgia’s writing is so easy to read and binge, but still so beautiful and emotive 🩷 the heart was racing and I was so deeply invested in the characters and their love story. I also loved the Aussie setting, and including both Canberra and Sydney is something I just haven’t read before so that was different and fun! Who doesn’t love a conference romance? 😜

What you can expect:
💜 Workplace romance
💛 Conference fling
💜 Dual POV
💛 Spicy 🥵🌶️

I devoured this book and I can’t wait to see what is next from the lovely Georgia 🥰 It was one of my fave romances I’ve ever read 😍 (and I have read a lot 😜)

This was a book that was hard to put down, and I loved the relationship and character growth between Cameron and Jules. Highly recommend this one!

Love supporting Aussie authors, really wanted to love this. But it's a DNF from me so sharing some quick thoughts to hopefully assist. There is a slab of dialogue in another language with no context at all and no translation. The story didn't really move and was very repetitive and felt a bit YA for something with then big sex scenes. As it's a DNF, I average the rating. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read in exchange for an honest review.

I'm probably a little biased because i read an early version of this story (and I even got mentioned in the credits - how exciting) but this was a fun and flirty book. It was nice reading the Australian settings, and there's some truly laugh out loud moments as well as some sweet vulnerable ones.

If you like a lot of spice, though nothing too heavy, this one might be for you.

This sexy and sweet rom-com will have you double-guessing the voice at the end of the phone and begging your boss to send you off for a conference.

Deciding a fling is the risk-free entry back into dating they both need after being burned by previous relationships, Jules and Cam embark on a steamy weekend during a work conference — realising too late that emotions very rarely listen to logic. Jules and Cam are equal parts tender vulnerability and sizzling spice in Moore’s debut, and I’m here for it!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish this story.
The premise of the book sounds fun and interesting, however in reading, the characters appear superficial. They lack depth and conversations come across as trying to be funny, but sound forced.
I do like the tropes used like forced proximity, but I feel the story rushed into this without much context or background. I found what I read lacking in detail and didn’t want to keep reading.

I really enjoyed this cute but deliciously spicy romcom. I could very much related with the FMC Jules who's always second guessing herself, overthinking everything and babbling when she's nervous. A moment of hers early on during their car trip to the convention made me laugh out loud. Cameron, the MMC, was incredibly infuriating at times but thankfully redeemed himself. The chemistry between the two of them however was delicious. And despite a couple of words I don't like during spicy scenes being used, I still absolutely devoured those moments. I can't wait to see what else Georgia Moore comes out with. Thank you to Netgalley & Escape Publishing/Harlequin for this copy for review.
