A great read. Ava is fabulous, she is feisty, strong and feminine. She doesn’t suffer fools gladly and takes the ranch by storm when she arrives, taking no prisoners and setting out how she wants to do things. She comes up against a meddlesome family and an oh so sexy, if taciturn, cowboy that slowly open her eyes and heart to what else is out there. The steps to unfurl the cover over her heart take time but it is lovely to read as Ava finally gets what she needs even if she didn’t even know she wanted it.

I can’t believe I had the opportunity to read one of my most anticipated releases of the year, months earlier of its release. Big thank you to the author, Quercus Books and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. 'Swift and Saddled' by Lyla Sage will be coming out on March 5th.

This book follows Ada Hart and Weston Ryder. Ada is an interior designer who secures a major project renovating a house at Rebel Blue Ranch, where she discovers that the cowboy she kissed at a bar is her new boss, Weston. Despite Wes' interest in her— Ada is cautious, keeping her focus on work and thinking the attraction will go away.

I really loved Weston’s character, his golden retriever energy got me right away. Weston Ryder, you’ll always be famous. But… things I didn’t like— I mean, I loved this book, I loved its characters and I love Lyla’s writing style. But something from the second half of the book fell off like it was a bit too fast for my liking, I needed more angst and rage. I must say I loved 'Done and Dusted' more but it was hard to surpass as it was one of my top reads from 2023.

But, still, I devoured this book. I couldn’t put it down. It was a sweet, short read and I cannot wait for book 3 in the series— beyond exciting to read Gus and Teddy’s story!

Also, I need to add that it was great to read a book with mental health representation that was amazingly written and really well done.

After loving Done and Dusted last year I was so excited to get an ARC for the second book in the series!

It's time for Wes to get this story told and finally build his dream guest house in the ranch. In order for that to happen he needs all the help he can get, especially of a decorator in order to have it all go as planned.

Ada is said decorator and responsible for the renovations to become a reality, this is her first big project and hopefully the one that will help her get more jobs like that one, making her dream of renovating houses all over the country a reality.

The thing is that before their first official meeting they bump into each other at the bar and share a kiss that is equally magical and puzzling for both of them.

I love a renovation project in a romance, all the opportunities to work together while also living in the same house make the proximity absolutely wonderful. So it must be no suprise that I loved this book as well.

Wes is my newest book boyfriend of 2024! He baked her a spanakopita and let's just say I melted faster than the feta inside.

Ada is finding things she didn't think possible, like love, support and a way to make her dream a reality, the only thing standing in her way is her own fear.

I adored how open they were with each other, sharing their struggles and talking over about all of the problems without fear of judgment. Their chemistry was just as amazing, bring in the heat in a cold January day,

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion

I fell head over heels in love with Done and Dusted at the end of 2023 and I’ve been so excited for Swift and Saddled since. And my goodness, Lyla Sage does it again! I could not get enough of Wes and Ada. They are so precious and such beautiful characters. Their vulnerability really resonated with me and I found so much of myself in both of them. Reading about relatable characters makes a story so much more real, and Lyla Sage does this so well. I absolutely loved being back at Rebel Blue Ranch. It has become a comfort place for me and I cannot wait to go back for more.

Loved this book!

Swift and Saddled is the second book in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series by Lyla Sage and I have to say I enjoyed this one more than the first. Instantly fell in love with both main characters Ada and Wes separately and when they got together. This book is a cute and fluffy cowboy romance with more serious topics covered such as depression as well as being steamy and spicy with a great family dynamic which is heartwarming and just round the story out perfectly. It has all the elements I want in a small town romance.
The only thing I do wish was that book was a little longer so it could tie up some loose ends and expand and others. 4.5/5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to have an ARC in return for an honest review

I absolutely loved this book, I couldn’t put it down, it had everything you could want in a small town romance, Wes and Ada were perfect, their chemistry was off the charts, their communication and honesty with each other was spot on, I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in the series, one of the easiest 5* I’ve given

I loved this book

I was obsessed with Wes and Ada from the very start. Their meet cute was so good, making out with each out in Brooks bar and not exchanging names only for Ada to turn up at her new job the next day and it turns out that she made out with her new boss, Wes. It's honestly a storyline I could next get bored of and this was done so good

I love the way that their relationship grew and that they were open with each other and had conversations that maybe other people would shy away from

Don't get me wrong I love a book with angst and drama but I loved and really enjoyed how light-hearted and soft this book was.

The third act conflicts didn't really last that long with having conversations and trusting that they'd come back to each other (and they did, and it was none of this moping about for 3 weeks for zero reason)

I really enjoyed Done and Dusted but loved this one even more

- cowboy romance

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus books for the arc - all opinions are my own

Swift and Saddled is the second book in the Rebel Blue Ranch Series, which follows the Ryder siblings, whilst reading the first book (Done and Dusted, which centres on Clementine, or Emmy) is not completely necessary in understanding the and appreciating the plot of this book, it does give added depth and appreciation of the Ryder family. I really enjoyed Doe and Dusted, so I was really excited to read Swift and Saddled, it did not disappoint.

I expected a cute, fluffy cowboy romance, and while I got it, it was through nuanced and internally troubled characters. Ada was crippled with anxiety, seeing a main character question her self, her worth and if anyone actually really liked her made her seem so authentic. Her growth and evolution as someone who was confident in themselves and their ability was lovely to read, the chapters watching her grow her female friendships with Emmy, Teddy and Cam were fabulously done. Weston was a swoon worthy cowboy with a strong case of middle child syndrome, which again, gave him a sense of authenticity. Wes’ frank acceptance of his depression and his openness about it was so refreshing, as was his support from his family. The chemistry between the two left off the page from their first interaction and burnt bright right till the end. No country orange is complete without the supporting cast of cute critters, Waylon the dog and Loretta the calf were so cute ad really showed additional depth to our to main characters.

I do wish the book had been a little longer so that more elements could be explored in further detail ad a few more loose threads could be tied up a little more neatly and explicitly (unless they are purposefully being left open to address in later books)

The Rebel Blue Ranch Series is perfect for fans of Elsie Silver and Lucy Score, great for anyone looking to add some cowboy romance and sweets all town vibes to their reading list this year. I genuinely can’t wait to read the next additions to this series, Swift and Saddled left a lot of (delicious) crumbs for us to pick up on in anticipation of future books.

Tank you to NetGalley and the publisher Quercus Books for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review, these thoughts are all my own..

AHHHHHHHHHH I honestly still can’t believe I got approved for this ARC but here we are.
‘Swift and Saddled’ is Lyla Sage’s second book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series and follows the story of Wes Ryder and Ada Hart, in their endeavours to renovate an old section of the ranch. I absolutely love love loved this book and it definitely lived to the very high standards set by ‘Done and Dusted’. There was so much depth to the story and was so much more than a silly little romance. Yes it was so steamy and spicy in all the right places but the family dynamic of the Ryder’s is so heartwarming and welcoming. Lyla does such a good job at incorporating and speaking about mental health issues in her writing without making it the character’s only personality trait. Overall, I can only say good things about this book. I was scared Wes wasn’t going to be able to top Luke Brooks, but they are so on-par it’s not funny.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I’d give it every single star if it was possible)
Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Hi! I didn't write this in my review, But it might be useful to know before the book is published. The sneak peak for book 3 is incorrect. Many sentences are mixed up and sometimes a piece of text from the previous page suddenly appears on the next page. I don't know if this is only in the ebook or also in the original, But I thought it would be nice to pass it on! Below is my review 😁

yessss i loved it!

I was so happy when I was approved for an arc of this book!
I really enjoyed book 1, but I thought this book was even better!

The love, the openness and especially the imperfections of everyone is really what makes this book so good for me.
People talk openly about trauma and depression and the use of medication for this and I love that!

Wes and Ada are both beautiful people and besides having good sex they also had deep conversations! the chemistry was good.

I think all the people in this book are really beautiful! How Emmy, Teddy and Cam showed Ada what it feels like to have friends and how everyone supports Wes with his feelings. And omg their father is a really fantastic man. How he loves and supports all his children unconditionally. You wish everyone a dad like that.

What can you expect:
🐴small town
🐴cowboys
🐴found family
🐴men with actual feelings and emotions
🐴a very very sweet mmc
🐴trauma
🐴healing togheter
🐴seeing emmy and luke back
🐴good spicy scenes

Swift and Saddled was a heart-warming and lovely read. Small-town romances tend to be like that but Lyla Sage's sophomore novel had sweetness in spades. It was nice to read something where there wasn't much conflict involved at all, just two people getting to know and understand each other and falling in love along the way.

I really liked both Ada and Wes as characters, though I related to Wes a lot more - especially regarding his fears about when his next 'dark day' would be. I also appreciated that despite struggling with depression, he was still the more 'sunshiney' personality of the two, and his honesty regarding the subject was comforting.

The one criticism I had about Done and Dusted is that it felt too short, and the same can be said for Swift and Saddled. It may just be down to personal preference, but I would have liked more filler scenes to increase the tension between Ada and Wes (I am a sucker for a slow-burn) and I felt that there was a subplot of Ada's divorce that could have been explored in much more detail.

Swift and Saddled is a great addition to the Rebel Blue Ranch series and I'm sure it will gain the same hype and traction that its predecessor did. I don't think it will end up being my favourite in the series as I do prefer more friction between characters as it makes the end result all the more rewarding - I can already tell Gus and Teddy's story will be right up my alley!

If you are, or want to be, in your Cowboy Romance Era, keep an eye out for Swift and Saddled which will be released on 5 March 2024.

Thank you to Dial Press and NetGalley for a eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All views in this review are my own and will be posted on my social media on release day. This review will not contain spoilers of the book, unlike my review on StoryGraph

Lyla Sage has done it again! Another Rebel Blue book that has me drooling at the mouth for more cowboys. Swift and Saddled follows middle child Wes Ryder and interior designed Ada Hart as they worth together to renovate the old Big House into a B&B together.

Their meet cute at the start was unexpected but I loved how different it was! The pair had instant, spicy attraction! The writing was well done and it was a pleasure to read this eARC.

Additionally, this book hit close to home with the discussion of depression and the decision to go on antidepressants.

The power of friendships was also shown through the women on the ranch!

If you like sweet, spicy, small town romances and cowboys. This book is for you!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read the first, and if you haven’t, go and check it out!

If I could rate this book with 6 stars I would. My heart feels so full right now.
I want to pack my bags, leave everything behind and go the the Rebel Blue Ranch for good.

When I rate the first book in a series 5⭐, I'm always a bit scared for the next ones.
Because what if the continuation of the story isn't living up to my expectations? What if read already the best part and the rest is kind of "meh"? Or worse: the sequel is kind of a copy of the first story with a few changes and new MC's... Very pleased to say, there's absolutely none of that applicable here!

While reading Done and Dusted, I was giggling and so energized throughout the book.
With Swift and Saddled, the rhythm of the book was a bit slower... but like the healing kind. With every page, I felt cozier and my heart felt fuller 🧡Lyla's writing is beautiful, comes across effortless and just feels right.

I cannot find the words to describe how much I love Wes and Ada together. I wouldn't wish to change one single thing about their journey.
And the Ryder family? I fell in love with them all over again (Amos 💚). Ugh, I can't get enough!
I definitely think that this series will be a top favorite of mine for a very very long time.

Tropes included:
🤠 Cowboy romance
🤠 Black cat x golden retriever
🤠 Dual POV
🤠 Slowburn + little spice
🤠 Found family
🤠 Small town / cosy
🤠 No third-act breakup

In the ARC that I read, there was a little sneak peek to the third book 'Lost and Lassoed' and OMG 😍 I'm beyond exited for the next books and to discover more about this beautiful family.

Thank you to Quercus Books, NetGalley and Lyla Sage for providing an advanced readers copy of this highly anticipated sequel!! 4.5 stars.

If you’re looking for another small town, cowboy heavy romance book that reminds you fondly of Chestnut Springs, look no further. This is the 2nd book in the rebel blue ranch series and follows Weston Ryder and Ada Hart.

I really enjoyed this one, not as much as D&D (I think that book is truly magnificent and has no flaws). I love how Lyla has incorporated another main character to normalise mental health such as ADHD and depression. It normalises the characters and I really feel more connected with them.

Ada is an interior designer that Weston has hired for the remodeling of his family’s old home on the Rebel Blue Ranch. They have a steamy run in at the Devil’s Boot (hello again Luke Brooks!). Ada hasn’t had the best luck with men and is suspicious of Weston’s “nice guy” behavior, thinking it’s too good to be true. I mean really, when is the hot cowboy, also a gentleman, right?

Words cannot express the perfection of this book! I devoured it in a day and already want to reread it!

I was kindly given an ARC of this book through NetGalley and it was the best thing ever! Going on this journey with these characters, and falling in love all over again is honestly so special! I loved Wes in Done and Dusted, but being with him and seeing his dreams come to life through Swift and Saddled was magical!

The spice is impeccable, the storytelling makes you believe you are right there with the characters, and the portrayal of the characters is so special!

I loved Done and Dusted, but there was just something about Swift and Saddled that was that much better. Both are 5 star reads for me, and both are the best books to start out the year with! I cannot wait for the next instalment and be brought back to Rebel Blue Ranch in book 3! Infinity star rating!

“i followed my dreams, and they led me back to you.” 🥹😭

i finished this book in 4 hours… it was that good.
wes and ada are so pure and sweet together, i was hooked from the very first chapter.
i saw so much of myself in ada - the feeling of not belonging, not knowing how to connect or getting the right social cues. i loved her so much, and she truely made this book… it wasn’t just a cute lil romance book, it was a book about ada finding where she belonged, finding her family, her people.
swift and saddled is definitely one of those books i’m going to think about forever - and i’ll be getting my hands on a physical copy once it’s out!!

This was absolutely stunning! I don't think I could love it any more if I tried.
The setting on the ranch, the mental health rep, the connection between Wes & Ada!!! How patient and sweet and supportive Wes was! Ugh!! I flew through this in less than a day and I will definitely be re reading!!

Wow. Just wow. This was such a stunning book! From chapter 1, the tension between Wes and Adam was INSANE. Their love story was so beautiful to read.

What I loved:
- The way that depression and low self-esteem and trauma from an abusive relationship was represented
- Emmy and Luke cameos
- The strong female friendships that Ada was able to develop during her time at Blue Rebel
- The way that Wes respected all of Ada’s boundaries. He was so respectful and kind to her.
- The fact that they think they’re being so sneaky with their shenanigans, but everybody knows!
- Their banter and the way they support each other. I love when a couple really takes the time to learn each other.
- No third act breakup, but their little conflict is dealt with so beautifully!
- The balance between the storyline being lighthearted and fun and delving into more serious topics and relationship dynamics.
- The way that side characters were set up for their own book! I cannot wait!

Lyla absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one. If you thought Done and Dusted was good, then hold on to your cowboy hat, because Swift and Saddled is even better!
I adored Wes and Ada, they were both such great characters and the connection between them was easy to see from the start.
I loved spending more time at Rebel Blue Ranch and can't wait to be back again for the highly anticipated Teddy and Gus.

I received an arc of this book, all opinions are my own
