A great twist on the usual European prince and middle class American girl. here, Emma being Korean-American offers someone who actually knowns what it means to be different and looked down for that, unlike the usual Grace Kelley-style girl in these books. Emma knows here way around a microaggression, and so has a real point when she points out to Prince Michel that there may be just a bit of protest from his country if he shows up with a Korean-American bride.
But before we get to that, we have an adorable meet cute when he sees her going through a montage of first dates as she meets men who are "perfect on paper" as she lets her matchmaker godmother try to fix her up. And I did find it believable that she would be willing to try an arranged marriage after getting a front row seat to her parents love match led to a very bad divorce.
Emma and Michel, allowing themselves the spontaneity of trying something so different from what is expected of them, are a delight to watch as they fall in love, especially with all the use of cuisines as part of the courtship. I now know about Korean royal court cuisine, and oh my it all sounded so delicious. Also, as someone who lives in Los Angles, I loved recognizing where they went - I have been to restaurants in Culver City, I have kissed in the archway at the last Bookstore, and I have watched card tricks at the Magic Castle. So much fun!
A very fun royal romance!

Haven't we all wanted to fall in love with a prince without knowing they're a prince?
This was such a fun read. I wish it had been a little bit longer at the end. But I also might be saying that no matter what the author wrote. It was a wonderful read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book. It was a cute quick read that was very fun. If you want a quick light hearted read, read this book.

This novel was incredibly heartwarming and you really just fall in love with both Emma and Michel . It really is the best kind of fluffy love romance. I found myself getting so engulfed in there relationship and the authors writing style. A happy little escape!
A special thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Publishing Group for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A very cute read! I finished it in one day. I enjoyed the characters, especially Gabriel and Sophie’s arc, and it was very well written. I thought the ending was a bit rushed, and I would’ve liked to see more of Rouleme. Overall a fun book! Would recommend for a lighthearted, quick read.
