I was excited to have won an ARC of this book because I thought that this book would offer a lot of helpful advice on how one can cope with their anxiety, and this book was everything I expected it to be and more! I love that it was specifically written for women and that it was in the form of a workbook that could be filled out. I like how the author went into detail about the underlying causes of anxiety and how we can cope with these feelings as we go about our everyday lives. I think a lot of people who struggle with anxiety will find this workbook very helpful; I enjoyed reading through the prompts included in this book and look forward to finishing completing the entire workbook!
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book!
For individuals grappling with anxiety and seeking efficacious coping strategies, embarking on an exploration of this workbook is strongly recommended. Embracing the intricate tapestry of contemporary existence as a woman, the "Anxiety Workbook for Women" emerged as a reassuring and empowering companion along my odyssey towards emotional equilibrium. The book comprises 2 distinct sections, namely "Understanding Anxiety" and "How to Manage Your Anxiety," subdivided into 9 elucidating chapters. These chapters encompass a wide array of topics such as "Anxiety & Women," "Navigating Life with Anxiety," "Calm Your Body & Mind," "Observe Your Anxiety & Identify Your Triggers," "Release Yourself from the Cycle of Worry & Rumination," "Replace Your Anxious Behaviors with Healthy Ones," "Navigate Relationships and Manage Social Anxiety," "Acknowledge & Address Specific Phobias," and "Reclaim Your Life & Reach Your Goals." Concluding the book is a concise compilation of resources including online platforms for supplementary assistance.
Crafted with meticulous forethought, the workbook elegantly juxtaposes simplicity with professionalism in its textual discourse. A profound understanding of anxiety's origins fostered a nuanced approach to Part 2's exercises. Noteworthy was the diverse repertoire of techniques ranging from mindfulness and meditation to cognitive-behavioral therapy. In summation, this workbook stands as a robust compendium tailored expressly to the unique experiences and tribulations encountered by women, equipping them with pragmatic exercises and strategies to traverse the labyrinth of anxious thoughts and emotions.
I highly recommend this workbook to any woman looking to improve her journey with tackling anxiety. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.
Having experienced anxiety for a considerable time, I have really enjoyed working through this book, alongside its suggested activities. Really helpful tools which also invite personal insight into my triggers. Highly recommend this manual.
Thanks NetGalley and Callisto Publishing for this arc
4/5 stars
This us a really good workbook for someone who's going through rough anxiety. Most of what was in here I learned in therapy for my anxiety, so I think having this workbook and a mental health professional to work through these hard emotions together would help a lot! Doing this on your own would also be fine, but having that person to hold you accountable and keep you honest with yourself is really important to getting better
I think this is a really useful workbook for someone struggling with or just wanting to better understand their anxiety. It breaks it down into really manageable and easy to understand chunks with exercises along the way. I especially appreciated the attention to some really common anxiety triggers like small talk and socializing.
Very good workbook for dealing with anxiety. I like to write down my thoughts and then later on see how I've changed in my thinking. Netgalley provided a free copy for my honest review. It helps to put thoughts down on paper in my opinion.
As someone who has been dealing with anxiety my entire life I found this workbook to be extremely helpful.
It not only teaches you more about anxiety it also gives you tools to help you work through your anxiety and understand the workings of your own brain better.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with anxiety. It helps you work through and understand something that is very hard to deal with in a simple broken down way that does not cause you to feel even more overwhelmed.
Praise to the author. I wish I had this in my life sooner.
Thank you to NetGalley, the Publisher and Author for the ARC. All opinions in this review is entirely my own honest views and feedback.
I received this book free for an honest review from Net Galley.
As a woman who struggles with anxiety and perfectionism, this workbook has given me a lot of tools to manage my anxious moments. I read this on Kindle and it would’ve been helpful to have the hard copy, but information was incredible nonetheless.
As a therapist, I really enjoyed this book! I would absolutely recommend it to my clients who struggle with anxiety. I loved that there were considerations for specific struggles experienced by women.
Sadly this book was archived on the day that I was granted access - gutted as I feel I could benefit from it right now.
Recently I’ve been working on reducing my anxiety so I requested this on NetGalley.
The book has 2 parts (Understanding Anxiety & How to Manage Your Anxiety) and 9 chapters (Anxiety & Women; Navigating Life with Anxiety; Calm Your Body & Mind; Observe Your Anxiety & Identify Your Triggers; Release Yourself from the Cycle of Worry & Rumination; Replace Your Anxious Behaviors with Healthy Ones; Navigate Relationships and Manage Social Anxiety; Acknowledge & Address Specific Phobias; and Reclaim Your Life & Reach Your Goals). The book ends with a short list of resources, online sites for additional help if you need it.
The first chapter has a lot of repetition, which is great for getting you to really take in the information. I found it helpful to learn why anxiety exists and how it’s meant to help in dangerous or unusual circumstances. Anxiety becomes a problem when it overstays its usefulness.
The book progresses through teaching you about anxiety, then ways to deal with different aspects of it using a variety of exercises. I found some activities worked better for me, but the variety means people with different ways of learning and thinking - and different levels and aspects of anxiety - will find useful activities. There were several exercises dealing with intrusive thoughts/ruminating on past actions, on how to relieve black & white thinking, etc. Unexpectedly the book didn’t just deal with ways to improve yourself in private, there’s a section on how to do small talk and introduce yourself to strangers. The chapter on breaking down goals into manageable pieces was also unexpected and useful. I really appreciated the reminder to celebrate your successes.
It is useful to try various exercises, even if you don’t think they’ll work for you. I did the ‘write a letter to your anxiety’ and it was surprisingly insightful.
Through the work I’ve done over the years some of these lessons were no longer necessary for me, but I could see how they would have helped (and were similar to techniques I used in the past).
If you suffer from anxiety and want to learn techniques that can help, give this workbook a try.
What a great guidebook for those who struggle with anxiety. I am glad I came across the anxiety workbook for women by Bianca Rodriguez. It has a lot of good tips and ideas to help alleviate anxiety and discuss uncomfortable situations one may face relating to mental health. I highly recommend this workbook.
When I asked for this book as an advanced reader copy, I thought it would be more about how to deal with general anxiety and less focused on a mental health issue that controlled people, specifically women's lives. While I think this topic and important and necessary, I also wish it would've been titled something that indicates that it's for more than normal anxiety, like beyond the casual feeling or something along those lines.
As I was reading, I was thinking this sounds incredibly helpful and like all the right things to say and teach someone that was suffering from anxiety, but as someone who has a ton of confidence, I can't really relate. But I did read it and appreciated what it had to offer, even though I don't really think it's for me personally.
For me, my anxiety stems from the semi-recent loss of my father and a few other issues in my childhood, but it doesn't consume me or keep me from living a normal or fulfilling life. I think anyone that loses a parent would have some anxiety living in a world where you no longer have them to count on. So for me, a more generalized workbook, which is what I thought this was, would be better suited,
I have been working through this book for a few weeks and I have learned so much about myself. This book teaches you what anxiety is, why it cripples you, and how to get through it so you can function and eventually thrive despite it. The exercises are detailed and easy to understand. This is a useful resource for anyone who feel anxiety, even in the smallest form, and gives them a good way to work through it.
Hands down an incredible book, an incredible read. I’ve learned so much about myself, my triggers, and my anxiety. It was a great reminder that I’m not alone and there’s ways to work through these feelings. It was broken down and explained very well!
This book is AMAZING. I already have the Workbook in my Amazon cart to purchase. This will be a great book to have at our library. The easy yet informative descriptions about anxiety are helpful. I can use this book to help me, but also help my daughters with anxiety.
I am still reading this and I don't want to finish it just yet but I am already at 60%. It's because, I really find this book informative and useful. I didn't even know that there's panic disorder. Basically, this book helped me understand the basics of anxiety and provided ways on how to manage anxiety. Some of the contexts are familiar to me since I was clinically diagnosed with bipolar disorder and multiple depression and anxiety. Although, this is only to manage anxiety, I've been doing some of the steps provided and it's really helpful to somehow manage my anxiety levels. This would be the book I will return to if I things get out of hand. Thank you for giving me the chance to read this! One of my go to books for managing my anxiety.
As a woman navigating the complexities of modern life, I found the "Anxiety Workbook for Women" to be a reassuring and empowering companion in my journey towards mental well-being. The workbook is thoughtfully structured and written in simple, yet professional language. Understanding the roots of anxiety helped me approach the exercises in Part 2 with a clearer perspective. I appreciated the variety of techniques offered, from mindfulness and meditation to cognitive-behavioral therapy.
Overall, this workbook provides a comprehensive guide tailored specifically to the experiences and challenges faced by women, offering practical exercises and strategies to navigate through anxious thoughts and emotions.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advance reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Really good book on how to understand and manage anxiety. Easy to read and aesthetically pleasing, with very clear instructions. Provides many tools. I managed to learn how to calm myself and how to manage my anxiety long term. Definitely recommend it.
The workbook doesn’t have groundbreaking new strategies BUT it is well laid out with simple explanations on what anxiety is and what exercises to practice to try and curb it. The workbook explains different types of anxieties and the type of therapy exercises that help. I’ll definitely be using many (there are a lot!) of the strategies to help with my own mental health.
