A wonderful read!! It moved so quickly but had so much depth to it. I had not read anything by Rachel Good prior to this book, but I am excited to read more!

A delightful tale of love and redemption and a great addition to the series. I loved the plot and found it to be heartwarming and inspirational.

Good, Rachel Glick has earned a reputation as a flirt. Her days consist of working at the market, and her nights are spent caring for her ailing mother. Like many young Amish women, no doubt Rachel would love to find a husband and begin a family. However, her reputation precedes her and thus she remains alone. Sadly, Rachel’s heart yearn for her childhood friend and neighbor, Josh Yoder.

Rachel is not the only one with these emotional feelings. Josh feels very much the same towards her but something happened years previously and their childhood friendship greatly suffered. Knowing that she needs help on her farm, Josh is more than willing to step in and help, and just maybe the young couple just might find their chance at love. And, in case the pair can’t figure things out on their own, Mrs. Vanderburg doesn’t miss a clue.

Both Rachel and Josh are kind, loving people who have a history of hurt feelings and misunderstandings. It was wonderful to see them find love with one another and to forge the happy future together they both deserve.

This is book 6 of 7 in the Surprised by Love Series. Set in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Rachel Glick has dealt with much heartache in her life. The loss of her father and brother in addition to her mother’s illness requires Rachel to carry the heavy burden of caring for her mother and the family farm on her own. She keeps to herself and does not reach out to her church district for help.

To make money to support her family, she makes and sells quilts and pillows at the local farm market. The English owner of the farm market is known by many as a matchmaker.

In addition to caring for her mother and the farm, Rachel is asked to care of her widowed cousin’s two young children. When the mother does not recover from her illness, Rachel is named guardian and new mother to the children. Follow along on this journey of heartache, growth, realization and love. There is much to unfold in this story and it’s a good one!

Cute little romance book full of misunderstandings that lead to a happy ending for all. I received an advanced copy of this but this is my unbiased opinion.

This is a wonderful Amish romance that you don't want to miss. It's an emotional heartwarming story that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I loved reading Rachel and Josh's story!

Rachel J Good never disappoints. This is a story about friendships, misunderstandings, forgiveness, and learning to love yourself. I couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Rachel Glick and Josh Yoder have loved each other since they were kids. Josh has a secret that keeps him from getting close to Rachel again. I think most of us have a first love we think about sometimes and wonder "What if." I know I do. A tragedy happens in their lives that forces them to rethink their futures. She is misunderstood because she is friendly to everybody, and people avoid her. We all misjudge people because most of the time we may not understand what that person is going through. Our first impressions are not always right. We should always love each other as God loves us.

They have an older friend who has a "special way." with words. You never have to wonder what she's thinking because you KNOW. She's helps them put things in perspective. Everybody needs a friend like Mrs. Vandenberg. Someone who tells us what we need to hear and not what we want to hear,

To see if Josh reveals his secret, to see if Rachel get the misunderstandings fixed, and to see if Rachel and Josh allow God to heal their hearts so they can have a life together...........You have to read the book. Happy Reading!

I started off really liking this book, I feel like so far this series is geared more to a teen reader than an adult reader, but you can always learn something new from most books you read. What I was not a fan of, was I felt like Mrs. Vandenberg was very disingenuous in some of her "workings' in this story. I have really liked her in past books I have read but this time it felt like she was more or less manipulating situation and saying it was in "God's name". As a christian I know that is not how God works and his will for out lives would not using someone to manipulate the situation. I just really wasn't a fan of her this time. I really like Rachel she had a big heart and she really had a bigger giving spirit she did anything for those she loved and cared for before she thought of herself. Overall this book was not for me this time, the author did keep the book clean making it a perfect read for all readers.

I absolutely loved this sweet and emotional story. Rachel's strength through heartache was inspiring. I truly appreciated her resilience and hope through impossible circumstances. Josh was so amazing, too! His special relationship with Zak warmed my heart. This is a must-read!

It is book 6 and if you haven't read the previous books, get your credit card out because you will want to read them all. I recommend this book if you love Amish fiction. This is primarily the story of Rachel Glick, a young, single Amish woman who's lost both her father and brother in death and is the sole caregiver for her invalid mother, and Josh Yoder, a single Amish construction worker. Ever since they were nine years old, Josh and Rachel were the best of friends, until the day that Rachel's brother dies in a tragic accident and Josh blames himself for it. .

When two small children are suddenly thrust upon Rachel to raise as her own, will Josh and Rachel's childhood friendship resume, or will they continue to ignore each other?

If you've read the other books in this series, you definitely don't want to miss this one! As in previous books, the delightful and wise Mrs Vandenberg plays a large role in this story.

I get so happy when a Rachel J. Good book comes out! Her “Surprised by Love” series got me into her books. This is the sixth book in the series. You can read it as a stand alone, but the series is so good that you will want to read them all!
Rachel Glick has had heartache in her love, but the loss of her friendship with Josh Yoder hurts the most. Can two people move past the hurt and pain of their past?

This is a cute book about a friendship restarting after years of trying to avoid the friendship. You meet the two characters Josh and Rachel who had a friendship years before and then when they are tossed together by the local English busybody they soon find they below together. This is a nice read with easy flowing pages and plot. Would recommend

Pennsylvania’s Green Valley Farmer’s Market is a wonderful community within itself. Not only can one find produce, gifts and food, love is often in the air. Of course when Mrs. Vandenberg love is often not far behind. A fiesty older woman who is an angel sent by God, she has to give the right nudges to get people to do what she knows they need. Rachel Glick has been labeled a flirt in her community. Her sweet nature and natural beauty attracts boys like a bee to honey. However, Rachel has only ever had eyes for one man, Josh Yoder. Losing his friendship in the 8th grade hurt. Never knowing why was even worse. Josh has loved Rachel all his life. His dark secrets drove him away from her. He feels he doesn't deserve her. Dating an Amish Flirt to be an emotional story with sadness and heartache but with a strong faith to bring about a satisfying ending. I have enjoyed the stories of the Surprised by Love series set in the Lancaster Amish community and the Green Valley Farmer's Market.
I especially like Mrs. Vanderburg, an Englischer, owner of the market, a strong Christian woman with a charity to help those in need, a matchmaker, and a very wise woman with an ear tuned to God. Rachel is a lovely young woman that I pulled for, mistreated by other girls and admired by the boys, thought to be a flirt, but really lonely and misunderstood. Josh and Rachel used to be close as children, but tragedy tore them apart. But can they overcome obstacles to heal their friendship and maybe more. This hits areas that we all deal with at times. in forgiveness, misplaced and undeserved guilt, and relying on God instead of ourselves. This is a wonderful addition to the series and a lovely conclusion that those who read Amish fiction will enjoy.

This is a sweet story about Rachel and her childhood friend Josh. They have been friends for years, but when Rachel's brother dies in a fire on their farm, unbeknownst to Rachel, Josh mistakenly blames himself. He leaves for a few years. After he returns, their relationship isn't the same due to Josh's guilt over Rachel's brother's death. Rachel has loved Josh since they were children. Will they be able to find their way back to one another and rediscover the love they have had since they were children? This story is about family, love, friendship, forgiveness and second chances. I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Beautiful and Inspiring

I was drawn to this story once I realized that my assumption of the flirt's identity was completely inaccurate. As I began reading, I was drawn even more deeply into the story, and my heart immediately went out to Rachel. How she innocently became the topic of gossip, which led to her being snubbed by others, was heartbreaking.  Even her childhood best friend, Josh, was guilty through his avoidance, albeit due to some major guilt he harbored. And yet, through all of this, Rachel's sweet spirit never wavered. 

This inspiring story is beautifully woven together with romance, faith, and forgiveness, and the result is a beautiful and touching story that is sure to touch your heart.

Dating an Amish Flirt by Rachel J. Good is a sweet story. I enjoyed reading the sixth book in the Surprised by Love series. It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series, but you will be missing out on Mrs. Vandenburg’s kindness and meddling. Personally, I feel that Loving an Amish Flirt would have been a better title for this story (you will see what I mean when you read it). I enjoyed getting to know Rachel and Josh. I felt for Rachel who is ostracized by the girls her own age because she is pretty, and the men crowd around her like a moth to a flame (without encouragement from Rachel). I did not like the way the girls (young women) gossiped about Rachel (this may be a trigger for some readers). I found the characters to be developed and relatable. The story is easy to read. Mrs. Vandenburg is a delight (I wish she lived in my community). She is a wise woman who receives “nudges” from God. I love how she meddles in people’s lives (in a good-natured way). No one can say no to her. Mrs. Vandenburg provides humor throughout the story. Faith is beautifully woven into the story. Trusting God, relying on Him, and forgiveness are main themes in the story. Rachel makes quillows which is an item that I had not heard of previously. It was interesting learning about these blankets that fold into themselves and become pillows. The pacing was a leisurely and there was some repetition of details. Dating an Amish Flirt has an ending that left me smiling and the storylines were nicely tied up. Dating an Amish Flirt is a tender tale with gossipy girls, an aloof friend, quilting quillows, an amusing meddler, suppressing a secret, and a gracious God.

We are back at the Green Valley Farmer’s Market, although the majority of the story does not take place there. Rachel Glick sews quilts and quillows to make enough money to pay the bills but there is not enough to pay for everything that needs repairing. Times are tough since her father and brother passed away. Her mother is an invalid so Rachel has to spend any free time she has looking after her. Rachel’s isolation is taking it’s toll, the other girls at church don’t speak to her, in fact they snub her and speak about her behind her back. She used to be friends with Josh but since her brothers death he has avoided her, why?
Josh has loved Rachel since they were children but something happened that he feels he is not worth her friendship. However, a certain lady has other ideas. Mrs Vanderburg sees what others can’t and does what she can to make sure that Josh and Rachel spend time together. This does not go down well with Johs’s supposed girlfriend – one of the nasty girls.
Rachel’s life is totally thrown in a spin when her cousin’s two young children arrive as their mother is having an operation. Will Josh be able to help and what about the rest of the community?
I enjoyed this book but felt that the Amish community didn’t do much to help Rachel knowing her circumstances. I loved Rachel and Josh as characters and Mrs Vanderburg is such a wonderful character. She gets right to the heart of the matter and helps as much as she can.
