A good read, and one that was hard to put down. Three different romances going on, and balance shown to each. Liked the characters and the story overall, although the basics of the gunmen who show up was a bit murky in details. Still though, liked this one and the HEAs were nice of course. Like this author and would recommend the book.
Jodi Thomas is charm exemplified. Her writings ooze that charm. If you are a fan then you already know that. If you are new to this amazing author then welcome Jodi Thomas and her newest heartwarming adventure THE WILD LAVENDER BOOKSHOP.
Have you ever wondered why you love or read. Reading is an adventure into your own imagination and feelings. Good books make you feel the emotion of the characters. As you enter their world in the literary piece you should be enjoying the experience. Turning each page ready for the next exciting moment. I lose myself in books. Have always done that. I am a self-professed reading addict. And I have favorite authors whose works have become treasured.
Jodi Thomas is one of those. As you enter THE WILD LAVENDER BOOKSHOP you can’t help wondering which character is going to be the best. Which one you will enjoy the most or possibly identify with. The actual bookshop is a character. It has a presence and is important as a cog to this small town. Its owner seems to be a fixture in his shop and the town. His life at first looks almost lonely but that is just an illusion. Noah O’Brien is living the life he wanted. He divorced himself from his parents’ expectations. Noah is an observer. And in THE WILD LAVENDER BOOKSHOP Jodi Thomas starts giving us a glimpse into just how wonderful this man is.
Another fabulous character is Bear Buchanan. Everyone calls him Bear but he would rather have his real name back. His life seems routine. With two grown daughters it appears as if Bear has his life mapped out for him. And then we get a look at the real Bear, and it is magical.
The main character I guess is Andi who came to this small town to search for brothers she didn’t really know she had. Upon the death of her long-estranged father Andi is faced with the task of locating them and protecting them from a possible danger. Andi is an independent adult but in this small town she awakens a part of herself she would never acknowledge exists.
THE WILD LAVENDER BOOKSHOP is a foray into lives that are miles apart from what they seem. Jodi Thomas brings each one to life right before your eyes. Dialogs are bright, funny, and heartwarming. Lots of action and discovery. Definitely a wondrously written page turner. Vintage Jodi Thomas.
The Wild Lavender Bookshop by Jodi Thomas. Book 2 of the Someday Valley series is fast paced story has at times disjointed events that eventually come together to a satisfying conclusion. Three couples are featured, Cora Lee and Noah, Andi and Danny, and Bear and his secret love. An entertaining read.
Thank you to the author, Kensington Books, Zebra and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
This talented author has written a story with realistic characters. The story moves quickly. Friends and family…love and romance… I enjoy books about bookstores. Add lavender…quirky characters…curl up in a comfy chair and enjoy. Thanks Netgalley
Love Jodi Thomas’s stories. A follow up to previous books and like them there are several intercepting story lines and a few HEA’s. Hard to put down and left me wanting more
