Jack's father was suffering from several after effects of long term COVID, including skin sensitivity to light and chronic fatigue syndrome. When the experts tested and couldn't find an answer, they admitted him took a psychiatric ward. That's when Jack began to think like a scientist and do a little research of his own. Once he presented his findings to the doctors, they ran several other tests and determine that young Jack was correct.

If you have an aspiring doctor or scientist in your family, I recommend that you get this book for them.

Explaining critical thinking can be a real challenge, but this one tried very hard. However. It does a very good job of addressing the fears and issues too many people of many ages have when there is an unfamiliar disease with scary symptoms affecting someone they love. Long Covid is the mess that Jack's father is trying to deal with, but there are a number of invisible diseases as well as extensions of some other long term diseases. The important take-away is that even children can not only be supportive, but trigger better responses from adults.
It is colorful and simply illustrated by the author!
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age, great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your public library!
I requested and received a temporary electronic copy on Adobe Digital Editions from the author via NetGalley. Thank you!

A wonderful children's picture book that takes young readers on a journey into the world of critical thinking and problem-solving. The story revolves around Jack, whose father's health deteriorates due to a complex set of chronic conditions. Jack's determination to help his father by applying the principles of scientific inquiry is both heartwarming and inspiring.

This book not only introduces children to the idea of thinking like a scientist but also teaches them valuable life lessons about resilience, determination, and the power of critical thinking. The engaging narrative and colorful illustrations make complex medical concepts accessible to young minds.

A scary and fascinating tale of trying to solve a serious medical problem, the author takes the approach of how his son helped him to solve the medical crisis and, in the process, learn what current medical art/science can and cannot do. Well written and illustrated, a frightening tale with a happy ending.

This is terrible. It's really just politics pretending to be scientific.
And there are so many grammatical errors!
NetGalley let me read this in exchange for an honest review
