This book is a practical manual on how to deal with extremist thinking. There are practical exercises and examples, and the author explains several logical fallacies. Many times people become involved in an argument without realizing that the argument as stated is pointless, and this book describes how to get past that point.
Obviously, it's easier to say than do, but it's important, especially now that misinformation and extremism are so common. Families are breaking up because people can't communicate what they really mean.
In the end, it is better to avoid a fight. There is advice on the best way to do that and how waiting can sometimes be the strongest action.
What do we need? Self-reflection, education, honesty, all those things. Proportionality. Admitting when we're the problem.
While this book was written for certain circumstances, anyone could benefit from this kind of analysis. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
