I was certainly wary about requesting a YA thriller, but what choice did I have when my bookstagram was filled with five-star after five-star review? By the way, poorly written teenage characters is my second biggest book ick so I totally wasn't sure what to expect from a YA book starring, you guessed it- teenagers, but this is how you do it! I am so glad that characters felt real, age-appropriate, and made decisions you would expect in the circumstances. The audio was so good! I couldn't stop listening as the story was very fast paced. And quite emotional for a thriller. The twist and epilogue will get you!
Thank you RB Media, Recorded Books and NetGalley for my audiobook in exchange for honest feedback.
This book was so good!! Lola woke up on the side of the road with no memory, so when a man shows up at the police station looking for her, claiming to be her dad, why shouldn't she trust him? Especially when he has documentation for her. Nevermind the fact that his rules don't make sense and who is this person that she keeps picturing in her mind?
Meanwhile, elsewhere, Drew is being questioned for killing his girlfriend. But he won't give up on the idea that she's not dead. Something had to have happened to her and he is determined to prove it, not only to save his name but also just to get her back.
This book had many twists and turns (especially the end!) and at times I would think I had it figured out, only to find out I had a small portion figured out but the whole thing was just getting more complicated. I highly recommend this book and I hope this author writes more!
Thank you Netgalley & RB Media for an ALC of That's Not my Name by Megan Lally! 4.5 stars.
This is a "YA" thriller that has some major adult subject matter! I absolutely blew through this one and looked for any reason I could to keep listening (and lock myself in another room if needed to do so). I absolutely can't wait to see what this author comes up with next. The epilogue completely ties together the story which really makes all the difference for me - I hate when an ending falls flat and Lally delivers here. Also, that twist! Wowza.
A missing girl story that sets itself apart from all of the others, a teen wakes up on the side of the road and can't remember how she got there, or who she is. A man arrives at the police station claiming to be her father, and that her name is Mary. Is it?
Drew and Lola got into a major fight one night -She stormed off into the night and hasn't been seen since. The whole town is convinced Drew murdered her, and he's determined to prove his innocence.
Expertly weaving the storylines together, Lally's book is one I've been recommending to other book lovers and the narrator does a fantastic job with this audio version!
OMFG... Such a good mystery thriller this was.
I loved everything about this book. Both the narrators did a great job. And can you believe this is debut because I am sure I did not believe it when I came to know. The narration is really good, quite well written. There are not many characters but you can't help but fall in love with every character in the book.
I hate YA books, I totally avoid them coz I find teenagers insufferable. Their constant whining is something I can't take but these teenagers in the books they are so fresh and so real. With real life problems. Their banter, their slang felt so real. I loved sassiness of Autumn. I loved how Drew was caring and devoted on finding Lola. Even Max. They are not reckless and yet reckless somewhat in a good way. Impulsive even but again in good way. Reminded me of stranger things kids. And I love them so did I love these guys as well.
Lola disappeared one night about 5 weeks ago. The prime suspect is Drew who is her boyfriend. This is second book where it was mentioned that it a woman goes missing, it's always the man in her life. Drew is a character which you will definitely like the most in the book.
"Their support is almost worse than the hatred. It’s made of nothing but guilt, and I’m not interested in their guilt. I have enough of my own."
And the end twist, no I did not see it coming. You keep on thinking that you have it figured out but you haven't. I was loving this book and even if I had figured the end I would still have loved it. The ending was painful but totally awesome.
Thank you Netgalley and RB media for this amazing audiobook in exchange of an honest review.

This officially is my year's favorite book in mystery-thriller-crime genre.
I LOVED THIS BOOK.

It will also break your heart.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me an ARC of the audiobook in exchange for a review. An extremely suspenseful and gripping story all the way until the end. I could not stop listening to the story and found myself sneaking minutes here and there to know what happened next. I truly thought I had the story figured out, but then got it wrong. I have not stopped thinking about this haunting novel. While I would not recommend it for my middle school classroom (too many curse words and a bit too haunting), it was a fantastically written young adult novel. I was very grateful for the epilogue!
This was the first audiobook I have listened to in a long time. I am grateful to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for allowing me to read/listen to this. The narrators did a very good job with their narrations. I just wish it had half the swearing that it has. It’s a YA but the number of f bombs was insane.
The story line was intense and I didn’t see the twist coming but it wasn’t something I will ever read again. Nor, would I really recommend it. Therefore, 3 stars.
If she keeps writing like she did with this debut book then she will be a must read author for me!! This book was so much fun listening too. I thought Sophie Amoss and Robb Moreira did a great job telling this story. They have smooth voices and I didn't have any problems following along with the story. I loved Drew and the passion he had to find Lola. This book will give you one heck of a twist which I NEVER saw coming!! I had such a good time with this book and I can't wait to see what Megan has in store for her next book. I HIGHLY recommend this Teen YA Thriller.
Thank you NetGalley and RB Media, Recorded Books for allowing me to listen to this ARC for my honest opinion.
An original take for a thriller! Lola wakes up not knowing who she is, or anything else, especially the man claiming to be her dad. Spoiler warning: Serial kidnapper, falsely accused boyfriend, a town that has given up- except her friends. Multiple POV, well-developed characters, and story full of twists. VERDICT- Great addition for teen libraries.

Mary Boone wakes up on the side of the road with no memories and does not know her name. When she is taken to the police station and her father picks her up, she slowly tries to piece together who she is and her old life.
Loved this audiobook! The narrators did a great job portraying the characters and capturing their emotions. I was engaged the entire audiobook and overall it was a great story!
I always feel like young adult books with murder involved can be hit or miss and this one was a hit! While I predicted most of the story, I was still entertained and would absolutely recommend!
I loved the multiple POVs and how it all comes together nicely in the end. I thought that the pace of this was just right and it wrapped everything up without any questions or being too long.
Thank you netgalley and RB media for the ARC! This one is out now so add to your TBR and give it a listen!
This had me invested from the first page. Couldn't put it down. It seriously had me on the seat wanting to know what was next. The characters had me rooting for them to figure out everything and who the girl was. I was hoping it was the person i wanted to be. It was a refreshing premise and likable characters. And the narrators made it even more interesting
A teen woke up on the side of a dirt road with no memory. A man claiming to be her father frantically came to pick her up. He had her school ID, birth certificate, and even family photos. So surely he was her father, right? And her name was Mary. Somewhere else not too far away, Drew’s girlfriend Lola disappeared after a fight, and now the whole town thought he murdered her. He was determined to find her, as he was convinced she was in danger.
This was an example of a book that despite of its plot being somewhat predictable, still managed to grip me anyway with its execution. I read this in half a day and was enjoying every moment of it.
The audiobook had two narrators for Mary and Drew, and they both did a good job. They had the same pace, and their narrations were flowing, giving me a cohesive listening experience.
By the way, on what I said regarding predictability? I reckon the book could still manage to catch you off-guard when you didn’t expect. Pick this up! Highly recommended!
This was such an engaging audiobook! The concept was really interesting, and the story was well executed with well-developed and believable characters. I couldn't turn it off.
I thought I knew how it was going to end, and I was okay with having predicted the twist since it was already such a good story, but I was wrong!
The narrators, Sophie Amoss and Robb Moreira, brought the characters to life and had the perfect amount of suspense in their delivery to really grab the reader.
I will absolutely be recommending this book, and I can't wait to read more from Megan Lally.
WHOA! This book was AMAZING!! Just brilliant! I just knew I figured out what the ending was going to be, but I was nowhere close. I literally had to pause the audiobook and take a few minutes. The emotions this book pulled out of me were unreal. This book pulled me in from the first page and had a serious chokehold on me until the very last page.
Thinking I had guessed the ending towards the beginning, I kept asking myself what was left to be discovered in the remainder of the book. Boy oh boy! The answer is SO MUCH! This book was intense, suspenseful, full of tension and amazing twists. The dual storylines had me on the edge of my seat. This novel is considered a young adult thriller, but I tremendously enjoyed it as a full-grown adult. Definitely in my top 5 for the year to date.
The narrators Sophie Amoss and Robb Moreira brought these characters to life and delivered the perfect amount of suspense in their delivery.
Thank you NetGalley and RB Media for an ALC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.
I typically don't read YA but this was a good one. I enjoyed the twists and the dual pov. I will be honest and say I thought I could predict the ending half way through the book and I was pleasantly surprised it ended up not being as predictable as it came off in the middle.
Thank you to Netgalley and RB Media for my ARC of the the audio book, in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, what can I say! This debut young adult thriller by Megan Lally was extraordinary. I really enjoyed it and could not wait to continue listening to it. The characters are well developed and believable. I could not really fault it, and I am reviewing it as a mature aged female!
Even though I thought I had it all worked out, there were unexpected twists and turns. There is an excellent use of an epilogue. I will be on the lookout for more of Ms Lally's novels.
I really enjoyed this audiobook and narration. The story starts off with a girl who’s memory is blank and can’t figure out where she is and who she is. Throughout the story it’s going from two perspectives of Mary and Drew. Drew’s girlfriend is missing and he is determined to find her and the journey along the way.
Great and very tense story! I couldnt stop listening! Audio narration was well done too!
The ending was s bit abrupt, but other than that, great thriller!
I feel like this book will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. I don’t know if it was the fact that it was an audiobook or what, but the characters in this meant wayyyy more to me than most of the other teen thrillers I’ve read so props to the author.
While it wasn’t ground breaking by any means (yes, I did anticipate the ending) I really enjoyed every minute of it and binged the last few hours in one night because I just HAD to know how it ended.
