Rachel Price mysteriously disappears leaving her two year old in the backseat of her car. Sixteen years later Rachel Prive reappears.

I don’t even know how to feel about this book. Let me begin with all the characters were extremely unlikeable. The book begins with the Price family doing a documentary about Rachel’’s disappearance. From the beginning the family dynamic just felt off. You knew they weren’t being honest and even thought they said family first, it didn’t feel that way.

*SPOILERS•

From the beginning it was clear that Charlie(dad) had something to do with Rachel’s disappearance. The way Bel disliked her mom from the beginning was a red flag. She was so upset when her mom reappeared and Charlie’s behavior was weird as well. Charlie is filming this documentary saying how he would just want a chance to say… I love you to Rachel. She returns and he can barely stand it.

Later in the story we confirm that Pat(grandpa) kidnapped Rachel because Charlie wanted her dead. So, Pat keeps Rachel inside a red container for 15 years. Pat lets her go after his stroke as he doesn’t remember her and thinks she was locked in by mistake.

I would say about 60% in the story starts to get very interesting. You have Bel trying to figure out why Rachel is lying, Charlie disappears, Rachel is being mysterious, and the stalker makes an appearance as well.

The way it tied up made no sense. Did no one question where 3 people disappeared to? All of a sudden they all decided to leave to Canada?

I am sure that the characters being unlikeable is part of the story. I just always have a hard time with unlikeable characters.

Wow, what an incredible book! I absolutely loved it and couldn't put it down. Holly Jackson never fails to give us an enjoyable reading experience. And this book is no exception. Just when you think you have it figured out, you don't! I was kept guessing up until the very end and that ending was amazing. I can't recommend this book enough! You will not be disappointed. Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for allowing me to read this book ahead of release in exchange for my honest opinion.

—Thank you so much to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the chance to review an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Holly Jackson can do no wrong in my opinion. It always hits the mark.
I love the focus on mental health and trauma. I loved the documentary aspect of the story. And i could not guess the twists at all.
Loved it!

5 immediate stars.

i don't know where to begin with this book. everything about holly jackson's story always end me speechless. this was by far her most jaw dropping, plot twisty book i've read. the way everything was mapped out, the fact that she made characters you love turn into something sinster and how every time bel got closer, she wasn't even near the truth.

at first, it seemed a little long but as soon as rachel's appears and bel starts to investigate that's when i really devoured the story. i really did like the romanticish chemistry with ash and bel, really rooting from them but this whole book and the way it ended was everything.

i really hope they make this into a tv production or even a film because it has the potential to be something big

Okay, I REALLY liked this book! I read a lot in the genre and can pretty much see everything coming, but The Reappearance of Rachel Price was actually really twisty and kept me guessing.

The writing was good and the pacing was perfect. Fast enough to keep me engaged but nothing felt rushed. The story unfolded perfectly. The author did a great job at showing Bel’s trauma and fear of abandonment. I am a big fan of the way everything wrapped up.

Overall, this was a 5/5 for me. I would recommend it to anyone that likes thrillers and this can be an appropriate read for both adults and teens. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed reading this book, and the plot was really well done. While reading the book, I really connected with Bel especially and you can really feel the trauma that she has been through in this novel. I loved the incorporation of documentary filming in this book, and it was interesting to see how that affected not only Bel, but the rest of the family. The ending was very surprising to me and I didn't expect it at all, which made this book so great. However, the ending leaves some unanswered questions, and I hope that we see a second book about the reappearance of Rachel Price.

i know when most readers think Holly Jackson, they'll immediately think of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder because of how popular (and good) it is. upon receiving this ARC, i have to say... i was EXCITED. that's probably even an understatement. i had high hopes for this and let me tell you, i was not disappointed. while most will hold a lot of comparison of this to AGGGtM, i hope it does not get overshadowed by AGGGtM's success and that this book be appreciated on its own.

this book had me on edge, trying to piece the puzzle together every step of the way and the whole whodunit experience. you knew something isn't sitting right or adding up from the moment Rachel Price appears in the story. when you think you've got something figured out, you're later left wondering & doubting the who/what/where/when/why's.

my heart broke for Bel, as she navigated the things that have happened and continue to happen to her and her family. she went from an innocent little girl too young to understand her witnessing of her mom's disappearance, to an 18yo who has learned to isolate herself for fear of losing someone, anyone again... especially after having to grow up in the aftermath of the mystery in her mom's disappearance. so she's stuck in this cocoon of the only people she's ever allowed to be close... her family. but just like anyone, can you ever really trust family? or... is Bel just paranoid that her familial dynamics has changed now that her mom's back? is everyone telling the truth? or are there lies waiting to be unraveled?

once i got halfway through the book, i didn't want to put it down. i couldn't. i needed to know the truth, whatever it could be. everyone looked guilty of something, whether it be withholding information or partaking in the abduction of Rachel Price.

the last 10 chapters really had me eyes wide, jaws dropped, occasionally screeching, hands reaching for something to keep me steady, and heart beating so fast. all the land mines exploding here, there, everywhere. and it was done SO well.

also, sidenote... the little banters between Bel & Ash were cute. it was like a drop of a little romance. so small, but Jackson stayed true to Bel's character and didn't try to force a romantic plot. just a little tiny smidge of something. like Ash's friendship was a symbol of hope for Bel.

this definitely gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 for me. hands down will most likely be one of my favorite reads this year! something i'll definitely purchase to reread in the future and/or gift to fellow true crime/mystery/thriller friends upon release. definitely recommend!

a big thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children's for allowing me the opportunity to read this as an ARC. i leave this honest review voluntarily.

When I first started to write this review, autocorrect changed Holly Jackson to Holy Jackson and I'm not sure that was even incorrect. But because Holly is the name she goes by in the book world, I guess I'll leave it at that.

I screamed when I got the email for this ARC. Screamed. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love the entire AGGGTM series. I have bought sets for my own children, as well as gifted them to others, and I recommended them constantly.

The Reappearance of Rachel Price book is EVERYTHING I love about that series. Witty, plotty, twisty. And just so good that everyone gets cereal for dinner because I could not find a way to put the book down. I was suspicious of literally everyone except Carter. She's a sweetheart who could never do wrong.

Holly/Holy Jackson will always be an insta-read for me. I can't remember the last time I read a book that kept me up late or had me reading in every spare moment. So now I've got another 5 star book of hers to recommend!

Thank you so much to Random House Children's for the gifted ARC, and to netgalley for your all you do!

Note: Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children’s for this ARC.

After devouring Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series last year, I was very excited for this highly anticipated novel that she claims is the best book she's ever written. Jackson has a way of writing YA stories that work well for various age groups and doesn’t feel cringe at all. I was a HUGE fan of the AGGGTM series so I am definitely more critical of this new book as I couldn't help compare Pip's character to Bel's and I adored Pip.

I would rate this book a 4.5 stars. The twists were so, so good, and as a mystery/thriller connoisseur, I thought I was on the right track to be completely flipped on the head. The first half was a slower burn with all the character development and clues being dropped, then in the second half, Jackson went into full detail solving each and every mystery. Some areas felt a bit too repetitive/wordy, but that seems typical of Jackson's prose.

Holly Jackson knows how to do it. Being a huge fan of A Good Girls Guide to Murder, I had high hopes with this one. I was not disappointed!! I am so thankful to have gotten an arc for this book because it was seriously so gripping and interesting.

Every time I thought I was close to figuring something out, I was pulled by a twist in the other direction. Holly Jackson does a great job at making you attached to the main character Bel and feeling for her the entire journey and pleading for answers as well.

Without giving too much away, Bel's mom Rachel is highly suspicious, constantly making you rethink what you know throughout the entire novel. The major twists towards the middle/end of the book really make it all worthwhile. She also does a great job at including a good amount of characters, but not overwhelming you with detail that it's hard to follow the plot lines of each person.

If you're looking for a fast-paced thriller, this is the perfect option!

Woah…woah…WOAH!

Calling this book GOOD is an understatement, this was a phenomenal twisty thriller with countless curveballs.

I devoured this book in under 24 hours and I can’t wait to talk about it with friends when it releases in April because it is truly mind-blowing.

We follow Bel Price, whose mother Rachel has been missing since she was a small child; gone without a trace. Bel’s grandfather needs care for his dementia so her father agrees to a documentary about Rachel’s disappearance to pay for a home care aid.

One day Rachel reappears in the close she disappeared in and Bel starts to notice all sorts of strange things happening.

I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish, I even started writing out notes trying to solve the mystery but with every new bit of information I was floored. Holly Jackson is an extraordinary talent; I just want to step inside her brain and see how she plots out these mind-bending mysteries.

5 glowing stars

I've never read Holly Jackson before, but the teens at my library love her books and they are always checked out. Which is why I jumped at the opportunity to read this book on netgalley.

Once you open to the first page, you are thrown into family drama that is decades-old and messy. A baby girl was abandoned by her mom, and now 16 years later, a British documentary crew interviews the family and reviews old evidence, with the goal of bringing more media attention to the case. The family agrees to participate in the documentary because the need the money to care for Grandpa and his dementia.

The book follows Bel, the baby girl who is now grown up, and her quest to make sure that the documentary crew does not take advantage of her family, and to prove her dad's innocence in her mom's disappearance. Everything changes when Bel accidentally comes across her mom, Rachel Price, on the side of the road, and her mom lives with Bel and her dad again. Bel grows suspicious of Rachel's story when she catches Rachel losing track of her lies, and begins to investigate deeper with the help of Ash, the film assistant. Searching for the truth is hard when no one Bel trusts won't question, let alone investigate Rachel's story.

This book has a lot of twists and turns, and keeps readers on the edge of their seat. Highly recommended for folks who enjoy a thriller about family secrets, and what lengths people will go to keep those secrets hidden.

I’m a sucker for a good YA book. And Holly Jackson does not disappoint with her new novel. The main character is a sarcastic, heroine who keeps you entertained throughout the book with her quips. You’ll love this new novel

Of all the holly Jackson books I have read, this one was unfortunately not my favorite. I found the plot to be a bit repetitive from what I’ve experienced in other YA thrillers, and I thought the characters were pretty unlivable.

I liked Holly Jackson books and they are quick fast popcorn thrillers as many call them. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it to YA readers looking to get into thrillers.

16 years after she vanished, leaving her 2 year old Bel in the backseat of her car, Rachel Price reappears while a documentary about her disappearance is being filmed.

Rachel’s story and explanation of her whereabouts are sounding more and more suspicious- especially since she keeps messing up small details. Bel isn’t convinced that Rachel is a victim and ends up investigating with the help of one of the documentary's crew members- Ash.

I am a diehard Holly Jackson fan and I have devoured everything this woman has published. And I enjoyed this book as well. However, compared to her other releases, this book was probably a bit more predictable. Not everything of course, I was still at the edge of my seat trying to figure everything out. At one point I accused everyone of being involved.

I had a really good time reading, and finished it in two sittings. I was nearly impossible to do anything else than getting to the bottom of Rachel Price's disappearance. The ending was emotional and explosive and if you want to read something that will get your pulse rising and give you trust issues, then this is the book for you.

Readable, but it didn't hit me in the way I wanted it to. The writing wasn't my favorite. I liked some of the twists, they definitely kept me entertained. Just okay in general.

Rounding up from 3.5 stars. This solid thriller from Holly Jackson features a pretty great, prickly main character, Bel, who is easy to root for. The premise hooks you immediately as a documentary crew has come to town to start filming about the infamous disappearance of young mother Rachel Price, only for her to suddenly reappear.

It's clear that pretty much everyone is lying and it's fun figuring out what the truth is, at least to a point. Some of the twists are a bit over the top and after so much trauma and dark secrets being revealed, the ending felt a little too perfectly resolved.

Many thanks to Delacorte Press and NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I am a huge Holly Jackson fan, so I jumped at the offer of reading her newest book. It definitely did not disappoint, but some parts of the plot were a little unbelievable, especially the clean wrap up at the end. While the twist was absolutely crazy and it took me a long time to catch on, the happy family aspect seemed too easy and rushed.

I also had a problem with the MC for most of the book. There's unlikeable, and then there's pushing the readers away with how poorly you treat characters. One character did touch on her cold behavior, but it didn't improve until the twist.

That all being said, I enjoyed reading this book so much that I read it all in one sitting. It's so thrilling that I couldn't put it down once a certain character left.

THE REAPPEARANCE OF RACHEL PRICE by Holly Jackson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a book that will have you hooked and engaged in the first chapter! The plot twists were absolutely crazy! A few of them I did see coming, but there was no way I could have guessed all of them. I thought I had this book figured out early on, and I was for sure wrong. Bel really doesn’t have many likable characteristics, but I found myself still feeling for her after what she’s been through. I also loved the characters from the film crew and thought they were some of the most likable people in the book. I felt like it did drag out a bit at the end, but still a very enjoyable read for me!

Rachel Price disappeared 16 years ago and now her family is participating in a documentary about her disappearance. Bel, Rachel’s daughter, is shocked when Rachel reappears out of nowhere. But things do not feel normal. Questions are not being answered and Bel is determined to figure out what really happened.

Perfect if you like:
•Mystery!
•Suspense.
•Major plot twists!
•Secrets and lies.
