Reading this book, I felt like I was watching a true crime show/movie with the suspense & plot twists. It was soooo good! I loved AGGGTM series and although the writing is a little different in this one, it did not disappoint! The characters weren’t as lovable but I feel like the suspense of it all made up for it. It was not predictable and it absolutely kept me on my toes! It was such an adventure & you’ll never see it coming when it comes to who’s lying and why. This is definitely a book I’ll be thinking about for a while and would recommend to others.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children’s Publishing for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy!

This book was absolutely amazing! Kept me on my toes with so many plot twists. Holly Jackson is such a good mystery writer and all of her books are awesome. Her books are some of the few mystery books that I don't guess "who did it" right away. I love her characters in this book so much.

This book was enjoyable. The storyline wasn’t believable to me but I was excited to get answers and find out what was really going on. Overall, I thought it was just ok.

UNSURPRISINGLY, THIS WAS A 5 STAR READ

I made the mistake of starting this at 8pm last night thinking I'd read a bit and go to bed. NOPE. It was so tense and every time I got to a point where I thought I could put it down, some new twist came along. I finished this in one sitting, staying up waaaaay too late, and it was so worth it. Holly Jackson is just a master at what she does.

The cast of characters was great, Bel especially. She was mean and petty and guarded and honestly, went out of her way to be unlikable most of the book and I loved that for her. Give us more unlikeable characters still working through their trauma and not doing a great job of it. Her family was also a mess, but the kind you can't get enough of. I was holding my breath in every scene where they came together, waiting for the drama to start and, oh boy, it did not disappoint. The way I literally gasped out loud at some parts, oof.

This was the most fun I've had reading a new book in a while. When I read mysteries, I try to put the pieces together as a go and while I did guess a few things, I was never sure about them and there were enough WILD twists and reveals happening that my interest was constantly captured. It was fun, well-written, emotional, and kept me guessing until the very end.

Endless thanks to NetGalley for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Reappearance of Rachel Price is a book that has a lot of twists and turns. When you think you might have it figured out something else comes up to shock you. The books is set up like a true crime show, where a family is doing a documentary about their wife/mother/friend disappearing 16 years ago but then magically reappearing during the filming of this documentary. One thing this book had that was disappointing to me was a small amount of romance between the main character and a member of the film crew. It was completely unnecessary in my opinion and didn't add anything to the book.

Thank you Netgalley, Holly Jackson, and Random House Children's Publishing for allowing me to read an arc of this book. Personally, I love reading books from Holly Jackson and this might only be me, but I found this book to be a bit different from her other books based on the writing style and pacing of this book. Nonetheless, the book itself was enjoyable to read. I thought the outcome was going to be easy to guess but it went down way harder than I expected. But I felt like some parts in the book were dragged while there were a few other parts that I just couldn’t comprehend like ( SPOILERS-SPOILERS-SPOILERS):
how carter had a few conversations with rachel and because she clicked with her she immediately knew that was her mom and ordered a dna test because apparently her and her parents having different interests meant that they couldn’t be her parents ?? and how she immediately moved on from her parents and her mom moved on from her too after things went down as if they hadn’t lived 15 years together and grew up with each other.

An ARC from the lovely Holly Jackson. I loved her GGGTM series and this book, was just as wonderful. Fully finished it in one sitting. I think I have a problem lol

Still shocked by everything that happened! This was a great book.

Thank you, #Netgalley and Random House Children's Publishing, for allowing me to read an advanced reader copy of Hooly Jackson's newest novel, The Reappearance of Rachel Price. #TheReappearanceofRachelPrice

Holly Jackson crafts a beautifully thrilling story that keeps the reader on their toes. Throughout this novel, the main character Bel Price, was always living in her mother's shadow, Rachel Price. People constantly ask her what it is like and if she knows anything about her mother's disappearance. One day, while working on a documentary about her mother's disappearance something strange happens. What happens is almost too good to be true for Bel and the Price family, and immediately. Bel must investigate to find the truth or, more importantly, who is telling the truth. In the end, family always comes first. To find out about the Bel's investigation please read Holly Jackson's The Reappearance of Rachel Price today! #TheReappearanceofRachelPrice

So, this book.
AMAZING.
I absolutely adored A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and part of me was worried this wasn't going to live up to that but it did 100%. Holly Jackson did an incredible job here and it was completely un-put-downable for me.

I wasn't planning to read it as quickly as I did, but I flew through it. Some of the scenes in here were extremely tense and had my heart going a million miles an hour. Some of them, I was full of anxiety. I mean this all in a good way of course. Not a lot of books I feel physically for but this one was up there. It definitely gives the same vibes as AGGTM so I 100% recommend it.

The storyline felt a lot more sinister to me than I expected but it was written so well. I barely guessed any of the twists and turns and some of it was completely unexpected. I overall think this is one of the best books that Holly has written and she continues to do some wonderful work.

The characters in this really made it for me, our FEMC I didn't really like at first but as the story went on I really started to feel for her. I really became attached and scared just as she did throughout the book to the other characters. In the end, I really enjoyed being in Bel's head and I would jump at the chance to do so again.

I don't want to give too much away because this is so fun to go in blind.

If you like any of Holly's previous books or are looking for a fun, terrifying, gasp worthy read you HAVE to pick this up.

This was an interesting story, and had me guessing for a while. I enjoyed the character development, but the end took a long time to wrap up. Would recommend.

I was excited to read this novel because I enjoyed AGGGTM so much. However, this is definitely different.

After around the 10% mark, I was convinced that I knew the outcome of the problem, and I was disappointed about that. But I carried on, only to find that I was so wrong. Once the surprises started, they just kept coming. At the 80% mark, I no longer trusted my own judgment but I'm the best way. That said, things I questioned about each character ended up making sense. Plot holes were filled.

So why only 4 stars? The ending dragged a bit. So did some of the middle, in fact.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review,

This was one of the rare mystery books that had me guessing right up until the very end, and I pride myself on being able to guess whodunnit and see twists coming, so that is high praise. Much like the main character, my thoughts and opinions and allegiances kept shifting back and forth and when the reveal came? I was floored, awed, stunned, and I loved it. The adventure of finding out who is lying about what and, most importantly, WHY had me hooked, and the ending felt realistic and earned. Fans of Jackson's previous works will surely love this one, too.

I read the first two books in the AGGGTM series (and have the third on my TBR) so when I saw that Holly Jackson had put out another book, I was eager to read it. As usual, Jackson didn't disappoint.

_The Reappearance of Rachel Price _ centers around 18-year-old Bel Price, whose life was turned upside down 16 years ago when she was found in an abandoned car. Her mother's disappearance has never been solved, and Bel has established a life with her dad. Now, a film crew has invaded Bel's life, rehashing Rachel's disappearance and causing tension among the Price family = tension that comes to a head when Rachel mysteriously reappears. Secrets are brought to the surface and Bel's whole life is turned upside down.

The ending did seem to drag out a bit, and there was a bit more profanity than felt necessary, but overall it was an interesting read. I'll be adding it to my class library.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is the book that made me fall in love with YA thriller, and I will read anything Holly Jackson writes until the end of time.

One of the things I loved most about this book is that everyone is suspicious, so you aren’t quite sure where to aim your full suspicions.

I also love that you can never see the endings of these books coming, and they’re always just a little darker than you expect.

The one thing that bothers me always though is that the author is British and sometimes she writes like she’s never actually been to the US or heard how people here talk? I almost wish she would just lean into her roots and have her books take place in the UK instead.

The story revolves around Bel, an 18 year old whose mother disappeared when she was just 2 years old. She was there, but has no memories of what happened due to her young age. Now she’s being forced to “relive” the disappearance through the filming of a documentary, when she stumbles upon her mother again.

Bel is close to the family she grew up with, which includes her father as well as her cousin who grew up down the road. She has a lot of questions when her mother, Rachel, returns and is unsure if she trusts Rachel’s answers. She uses her cousin and the documentary to try to find out the truth.

The story is told in third person from Bel’s perspective.

Holly Jackson does it again. I devoured this book. Read it in one day. To say it held my attention is an understatement. The characters were not lovable the entire time, but there was so much suspense that I could not put it down. I feel that most readers try to guess a little what the truth is while they’re reading and this story was not predictable at all.

Definitely recommend this one to fans of thrillers! I couldn't stop reading it!

Holly Jackson wasn’t lying when she advertised this book as her best book written yet!!! Initially, I was truly skeptical about her statements - how could anything beat her “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” trilogy? Now that I’ve finished it, I can verify that in my opinion, I do believe it’s the most well-written of her books yet. However, the trilogy is forever near and dear to my heart, and I still hold my beliefs that nothing could possibly beat those three books in my mental rankings.

This book follows Annabel Price (However, don’t call her that! Call her Bel!), an eighteen year old girl living in New Hampshire who has been stuck in a void for her sixteen years ever since her mother disappeared. The case of her mother, Rachel Price’s, disappearance rocked not only Bel’s community, but the entire country. Everybody has become so immersed in it, thinking that they, themselves, deserve answers in a case that doesn’t even pertain to them at all, some even wanting to solve it themselves. In a world where true crime is so popularized nowadays, it’s sometimes difficult for those who consume true crime media to stand on a line of being interested by the facts of the case, versus being utterly insensitive and causing the victims even more trouble. How far is too far? Bel lives this life of infamous-ness, being often referred to as “Rachel Price’s daughter,” not even by her real name. When a documentary becomes on the table for the Prices, the family takes it, consenting to tell the story of the disappearance of their beloved Rachel. But, what would happen if (hypothetically… of course…) Rachel were to reappear? How will this family of mystery react? How will the world react?

Despite being my second favorite of her projects, it is still clear how this is truly the best book she has written so far in her career. The plot itself is so incredibly immerse and I could not put this book down for a second, dreading whenever I had to. There isn’t a single detail that Holly Jackson didn’t meticulously add to the story for a reason. Everything is connected. Holly Jackson has a way of immersing the readers into the story with the characters, making them feel like they’re solving everything right along with Bel. At least for me, I couldn’t predict anything that happened, and I had so many predictions as I read!!!! I’d think I finally got something right, and then I’d turn the page and my theories were proven wrong. Although it’s a good feeling to be proven right, it’s an even better feeling to realize how totally unpredictable a book is once you’ve finished it.

As well as the plot, I loved how complex every single character is, whether or not you realize it at first. Firstly, the main character Bel - the realism of her characterization made me love her so much! Please give us more grumpy female main characters!!! I loved her so much! Sure, she seems a bit abrasive and harsh, but she’s an eighteen year old girl! I’d be much more concerned if the teenage main character of a mystery book was all cheery!! Secondly, I’ll just clump literally every single other character in together - in this book, you’ll be introduced to so many characters and never expect for them to be expanded on in the future, because how could such an unimportant character have such a developed backstory? Well, they really all do, and I had the time of my life learning about all of them!! Just… maybe don’t trust them all!

Holly Jackson’s writing continues to get better and better, and this book is a true example of it! I could read this (and any of her other books) over and over again and never get tired of it.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

I was really looking forward to read the new Holly Jackson book, as the premise felt really intriguing to me.
The pacing of the book makes you really feel on edge and makes it hard to put down. You think you figured it out but then another twist gets thrown in and it just keeps going. I loved each and every part of it.

While Bel might be abrasive and somewhat unlikable, I instantly clicked with her character and enjoyed her story and growth. Definitely recommend it.

I love Holly Jackson's writing, I loved the Good Girls Guide to Murder trilogy. This book had some of the aspects of those books; down to the names. I thought I knew what was happening, with Bel's mom reappearing but I was wrong. The ending threw me off but now looking at the beginning, I fully understand it. What I don’t care about is the way her mom helped her own case through social media.
