This was so much better than I was expecting. It is difficult to come upon a good romance book amongst the uncountable out there. But Kit and Andie served romance with the angst and misunderstanding and a past. The whole reality show twist just added so much more to the story. The writing was fast paced and engaging. It was interesting to watch the couple figure out and resolve their relationship while being on camera.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me the ARC in exchange of an honest review.
this was a book that at first i struggled to get into. however once it picked up the pace i couldn’t put it down. if you’re a fan of bridal/marriage reality shows you’ll love this.
Second chance romances are my new jam and this was a total delight to read!!
Andie Dresser joins in a reality show hoping to win the prize which will help her work a lot while Kit Watson joins in to convince his mother to accept his help and the reality show is a matchmaking one. Funny fact, these two had meet in past and again fate has brought them together.
The plotline was so good and interesting that I was hooked till the very end. All the characters were so well drafted and penned, i enjoyed each page of this book.
“Somehow, that kiss turned back time.”
Not You Again is a forced proximity, second change romance. This is actually my first dating/marriage reality TV setting in a romance novel and it’s the perfect vehicle for Andie and Kit’s love story to continue its journey. It was a super fun format with the interviews throughout, giving us insight into the characters in a fresh and engaging way without being an info dump.
The banter and innuendos are *chefs kiss* and perfectly balanced with the angst and grief both characters work through.
I watch more than a few reality TV dating shows and I’m often disappointed when producers prioritise drama over actually finding real connections for the cast. Andie and Kit’s happily ever after had plenty of bumps along the way but was what I know we’d all love to see on our screens.
Not You Again by Ingrid Pierce
Kit and Andie both sign up for a reality marriage show only to find out that they are chosen to marry each other 10 years after their devastating break up in college.
This is a cute premise for a book. The reality show is like what MAFS would be if they were lgbtq inclusive and cared if their contestants were a good match (actually wanted them to stay married instead of wanting ratings at any cost).
Kit and Andie were both very likeable characters; their backstories were realistic and would definitely manifest in the intimacy issues they each had. The growth Kit and Andie made was also very reasonable in the time period; there was no inauthentic 3rd act issue. This book made me smile. I was really pulling for a hea. Would definitely recommend this great summer read. 4.25 stars Thanks to Alcove Press and Net Galley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Not You Again by Ingrid Pierce is a delightful read filled with humor and heart. While some plot points felt a bit predictable, the overall execution and character development make this book a solid four-star read.
This was a cute fun read, I enjoyed the back and for between the characters. This is a book that I could see turned into a movie very easily.
It was okay. I didn’t hate it but also didn’t love it. The chemistry between the two characters was good but I felt the story like was very episode app coded. Like everything fell into place all the time and it was quite flat.
So good! I loved that this was a take on Married at First Sight, except with exes. I really enjoyed the character development and growth.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
I’m SOO glad that I was able to get an ARC for this book! I absolutely loved it!! 💗💗
The background setting of a reality show was definitely a creative change and allowed the forced proximity and second chance tropes - two of my favourites- to really shine!! 😍
Former college sweethearts Kit and Andie- who crashed and burned once before- have been brought together for a reality show, bringing all of their former feelings to the surface, and forcing them to get to the root of their breakup all those years ago.
I loved their journey back together as well as the banter, steam 🥵 and adorable moments 😍😍
Well done!! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was so much fun to read. The reality show and second chance romance themes were communicated in a novel way that keeps the reader engaged throughout. I absolutely loved the creative descriptions of Andie's wedding dress designs and the backdrop of weddings was a fun touch.
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
Wedding gown designer Andie has started to develop a name for her brand, but without an influx of cash, she'll never be able to afford the shows she needs to become a household name. So when her best friend, and wedding planner, Heidi, announces that there will be a new reality show filmed in the Atlanta, and they need bride's who are willing to marry a perfect stranger, all for a fee, Andie is all in. So when she finds that the man waiting at the other end of the aisle is her ex-boyfriend, Kit Watson. Kit abandoned Andie seven years ago, with no excuse, so having to spend the next few months with him, pretending to be in love on camera, is almost too much for Andie.
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but the cover drew me in, and I'm a sucker for second chance romances. Andie and Kit were the perfect protagonists for this story. Told in dual PoV, we learn about their past together, and just why they broke up all those years ago. Neither of them were perfect, but they worked through their flaws, and eventually allowed the other person in. Yes, okay, it was cheesy at times, and full of drama, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a Married at First Sight-esque romance.
As a lover of anything reality TV, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS ONE.
Andie is a wedding dress designer for her very own brand, getting ready for Atlanta's Fashion Week. When one of her clients backs out, she is out some money and needs a way to keep her business in the black in prep for the show
Kit is finally back in Atlanta after designing buildings all around the world. Back to help his mother while she gets better from cancer. His mother's one wish is to see him settled down and happy.
They both agree to be on the reality TV show where they would get married sight unseen. Kit to make his mother happy, and Andie to get the money payoff for damages once she gets divorced after the show. They never expected to see each other at the end of the aisle as Kit had broken her heart 10 years ago.
Of course shenanigans occur as Andie needs the money, and Kit still harbors feelings for her.
I absolutely love their dynamic, and watching them go through therapy while throwing axes (not at each other) was such a fun thing to read. They are learning what went wrong all those years ago, and trying to figure out what is the right path for them now.
This is very much a slow burn he fell first book and I ate it up. Watching Kit realize his feelings and how to process them and show it in the proper way was very refreshing.
I would definitely read this again! Especially once a new season of Love is Blind comes out.

The fact that Andie didn't keep Kit out of the loop of why she was in the show, was a nice bit of honesty. If she hadn't, I would have expected a third act breakup about that lol.
NOT YOU AGAIN is a delightful second chance romance about Andie and Kit, who dated briefly in college only to find themselves both contestants on a reality TV show that involves marrying someone sight unseen ten years later. Both characters are complex, and the details of their backstory are gradually unwoven as they get to know each other again in their trial marriage for the show, which ultimately requires them to face both their growing feelings for eachother and the same problems that stopped them from making it work a decade earlier. I particularly enjoyed that they were both artistic and could support each other’s work - wedding dress design and architecture - without being too similar.
Thank you so much to Alcove Press, Ingrid Pierce, and NetGalley for this eARC!
3.5/5 stars
listen, i knew i'd love this book but i didn't think i'd love it THIS much. wowowowowow. i'm a sucker for second chance romance in general and you add to the mix forced proximity, marriage of convenience(of sorts)????? OH BOY WAS I A GONER.
i did wish that kit grovelled a little bit more and sometimes i found both of them a little bit too much but all in all it was a very very good read.
I've never read anything by this author before, but I loved this story and the unique storyline! I'm a sucker for the fake dating/marriage of convenience tropes and this one delivered on that and was a very enjoyable read. Recommend!
Kit and Andie dated back when they were 21, but lit up and left without an explanation.
A few years later Andie is a wedding dress designer and in need of a loan for fashion week. When her friend comes and tells her about a reality show with marrying a stranger. If you divorce at the end you get 100,000$. Andie agrees to sign up for the show..
But who is at the end of the alter?
Not only then the one and only kit. annoyed that this could even happen she knows it’s an easy divorce.
But what happeneds when maybe just maybe they had a second chance?
Book was so cute, I actually enjoyed it. I liked the writing and the characters. They all had good growth. I like the authors reading style, and I would recommend the quick read!
Andie and Kit. They are the perfect match on paper. At least that’s what the matchmakers said. But they didn’t know that they dated 10 years ago, that they broke each other’s hearts and that they have their own reasons why they applied to this “stupid show”to marry a “total stranger” and spending 8 weeks together.
Not You Again is a second chance romcom filled with heartwarming moments. This book won’t disappoint you if you’re looking for a cute and funny story.
This book was unbelievably sweet, and I loved it so much. It's hard to write something that feels emotionally honest without feeling like a chore but this really nailed it. Cannot wait for the next from this author!
Thai book is like married at first sight. I love that show.
The story just perfect unfolds into all of the mixed personalities and also the characters were just made for each other let’s be real.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for letting me read this book
Book 3/24 this year 🎉
