Kids will learn that our faces are unique. Our face cant change for who you are and whatever you do. Our face has many expressions that is sad, happy, angry, etc. When you sick, our faces will turn the color that is blue for pale face, red for too sick. Dont change our face eventhought do a plastic surgery. There is no need to do it. Just let it be. The illustration was too cute. This book have some activities to do inside. Let your kids express their feelings with a expression on their face when they angry, sad, exciting, shock etc.

THIS IS MY FACE by Lee Alfred is a children's rhyming book focusing on a child's expression throughout the day.

Told in AABB rhyme scheme with colorful images and easy text, THIS IS MY FACE is the third instalment in the adventures of Liam and Landen, two young boys whose father gives them a daily adventure to learn and play. A fun, sweet look at life and love.

I love how this author is inspired by his kids. In this book, kids see the different faces they make when they have different experiences. It looks like they may have caused some of the faces, as one of the brothers appears to have startled the other. This was really cute and it's good for kids to learn about how to read other people.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

This follows two brothers as they make many different faces related to emotions and situations during the day. My son did not seem as interested in this one as he did their other books.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What a charming book! I liked how the author used pictures to show different feelings. It's a helpful book for kids to express and understand their emotions, which I think is important for their growth. The interactive pages at the end of the book were a nice addition, encouraging young readers to talk about their own feelings visually.

A special thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this early copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is My Face does a great job of expressing different emotions and giving them an engaging prose and illustration to go to. This title would be very useful for kids who might struggle with recognizing emotions and how they themselves emote. It's quick enough to be used in clinical sessions or during storytime.

Having read Lee Alfred II before and had reservations, I am glad to see what I feel is a far superior book. I like that it emphasised being unique and not wanting to change the face you have been given and I loved the range of emotions the book highlighted although felt that some of the faces were quite similar. I wonder if the target audience will pick up on the ever so subtle changes. I would also wonder if people agree with the 'surprised' face when the balloons are popped.

Liam and Landen often get up to mischief. This book showed them being true to themselves in that they still broke things and annoyed each other but there was less emphasis on the bad behaviour and it certainly wasn't rewarded as we have seen in the first book of the series.

Keeping with the series, the collection continues to be bright and colourful, with use of a bold pallette. The cartoon drawings ae of varying sizes; some full page, some miniature to incorporate others on the page to accompany each part of the rhyming story. As a special bonus, space has been left at the back of the book for budding artists with an idea of emotion to draw their own version of expressions.

Overall, this is a bouncy little book that is rather stimulating, making it a great read for during the day. The rhyming helps younger children memorise the lines. Equally, voices and the delivery can be toned down to make it a monotonous bedtime story to lull a little one to sleep with the rhythm. Had the faces been more pronounced, the book would have achieved the full 5 out of 5 stars.

This wasn't quite the story I expected, but it turned out to be good anyway! Fun way of showing boys that it's okay to feel all kind of feelings - they are all a part of ourselves.

Cute little book on emotions. I especially liked the last few pages for kids to point out what they are feeling and also to draw their feelings

I absolutely loved this book. Perfect for young kids and young readers. I would recommend any teachers and parents to have this book. I loved how the family were a family of color, as I am myself. The end was the best part because of the interactive part just for kids. This book is fun for kids, yet educational at the same time. I enjoyed reading this a bedtime story.

As a kindergarten teacher passionate about social/emotional learning, I am always looking for books regarding emotions and how we express them. This book absolutely fits the bill!

There are many things I love about this book:
- first and foremost, the POC representation. The story revolves around a Black father playing a game with his two sons - how many emotional faces can they make? The representation of black characters, black families, and black fathers in children's literature is extremely lacking, so this is a very important feature of the book. This is exactly the type of book I look for to include in my classroom library.
- the fun, colorful illustrations that bring visual interest.
- the rhyming scheme makes the book fun and engaging for children.
- the activities in the back of the book - this provides an opportunity to expand on the information from the book and creates a lasting learning experience. I would absolutely use it for a classroom lesson in which we read the book, practice the emotion faces with partners, play a face recognition game, and then make our emotion face posters!

Highly recommend this book for parents and teachers of young children to increase social/emotional learning and diversity on the bookshelf.

A book which is suitable for introducing young readers about facial expression and words about emotion.

The author emphasized “don’t change your face” and “your face is unique, your face is you.”. As a(n) parent/ adult, we need to explain this part to the young reader, or it will be great for them to explain their understanding to this.

This is My Face by Lee Alfred II is a story about brothers Liam and Landen. Their dad challenges the, boys to make as many faces as possible during one day. The author uses their many facial expressions to identify feelings. This is a great tool to help children connect feelings with facial expressions so that they can better identify feeling in themselves. The illustrations are colorful and amusing and the text rhymes and is fun to read. The story length is great for children, just right to maintain their attention.. Parents can use this book as a launching point to talk about feelings. I am voluntarily writing this review after reading an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and the Independent Book Publishers Association.

What a fun little book. I read this to my 6 year old who really enjoyed it. He loved that one of the boys (Landen) has a name very close to his (Lynden). It prompted him to show me all his cheeky, silly faces and we had a laugh. Highly recommend from my son

Cute, rhyming text showing different emotions and situations always stressing that every emotion is okay and expressing your feelings. Great for preschoolers to learn about feelings.

This was a cute read for younger children. I would say ages three to six would like this book. It has colorful illustrations. There are funny moments that I think children will like. I was confused by the part that said "Don't change your face" but then it talks about how your face changes with your emotions.

I really loved this book. There are many books on feelings for kids and it was refreshing to read a new take. By focusing on the boys faces it brought such a relatable factor for kids. The message of being yourself and not changing for others is so powerful and can’t be said enough. The illustrations were clear, bright and fun to look at. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was so cute and relevant! I work in schools, and a major part of the day, especially for Elementary students, is focusing on Social-Emotional Learning. Teaching kids how to express themselves and identify other feelings and expressions in the people around them is vital and being emphasized in the curriculum. I believe this book could be utilized for that reason at home and in a classroom setting.

My only criticism is the placement of the narrative versus the picture. Sometimes, it was not very clear which face belonged to which emotion, or from whose perspective the story was being told.

Overall, it was very well done. The illustrations were great as well!
