This book holds such a lovely message and is great for a bedtime read to your littles. Uniqueness is in all of our faces and this book really showcases that. The poetic writing makes it fun for kids and the message will have them thinking and looking at their own faces in a different way.

Perfect book for learning about emotions. I like the ending where you can draw your own expressions. This story would also be cute paired with a mirror and have your child make the different faces while reading the book.

I must confess to not reading any Liam and Landen's previous books, but this didn't stop me enjoying the energy of "This Is My Face".

These African American siblings are a joy, especially in their enthusiasm to living up to their father directive of being as creative as they can.

We have a range of faces that run the gamut of emotions from happy to sad. These boys are emotionally articulate and are able to explain the thoughts and feelings shown in their expressions.

I like the running theme that gives strength and resilience
"Your face is unique,
Your face is you.

Don't change who you are
whatever you do"

This is a good book for on many levels as a straightforward read of children having fun but also as a way of allowing children to identify and express their emotions in an accessible way. The activities at the end of the book reinforce the sliver of mindfulness that runs throughout. The illustrations were dull, flat even and did not live up to the spirit of the text

My thanks to NetGalley and publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

My 6-year-old daughter read this book to me and thought that it was fun.

As a mum I thought that it was a good book to encourage kids to be true to themselves and not to hide away who they are and it did it in a playful and fun way too.

I loved the fact that the book was in rhyme too which made it even more fun to read

It is 5 stars from me for this one, a good read about being yourself

a super cute story for kids to learn about facial expressions and reading them on others. also encourages kids to be true to themselves and not always hide how they’re feeling.

As a mother of two young boys this book was a really fun read with an important lesson! The message of the book is simple - your emotions are OK to feel and "Don't change your face, just let it be". I think this is such a timely message for kids to learn; we all experience a range of emotions and it is all right to express our feelings. The rhymes and the illustrations make the book fun to read. As a reader you can easily act out the varying "faces" and range of emotions the characters go through as you turn each page making the reading experience really interactive.

This is a fun feelings book for kids. This book could turn into a fun challenge for readers- imitating the faces throughout the story, and creating their own faces for different reactions. I like the feelings chart at the end where readers can point to how they are feeling that day.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a fre copy in exchange for an honest review!

This is my face is a very good children book showing different faces during different scenarios. Not only is it entertaining because everything is written in rhyme, but it also brings a beautiful message. Don't change anything about your face your face is beautiful as it is. I think that's a very important message to give to children in this day and age with all the influence around. I also liked that there were interactive drawing pages added at the end for children to draw their own faces. It adds something to the book that other books don't have. Definitely think this book is a very cute book for young children to learn about themselves and what to bring to others.

A very sweet look at emotions in a way that young children can understand, perfect for a classroom setting when teaching about emotional regulation and the zones.

It's a unique book that shows every emotion and its faces that we have whenever we are feeling something and it's useful to help children express their own emotions and learn to recognize their feeling. and lastly I love that it has an interactive pages on the end of the book.

Book 182 of 200 ~ 2023

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

One of the reasons I enjoy kid's books is because I feel most of the time the messages aren't just for the kids, but for the adults as well.

Also, most times, they are fruitful lessons or a good reminder of what it takes to be a decent human being who is aware that every little bit you do is magic. (Yes, I was listening to Sting earlier)

I also love that the author was inspired by true life events ~ his kids being the protagonists!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This Is My Face is a beautiful colorful illustration that includes representation to POC in this book! The book follows two boys in a new game this time as their Dad challenges them to make as many faces as they can. Throughout the book, different faces are showcased with the emotions that matches the facial expression. This book is a great tool that can help kids to identify which emotion they are feeling and how facial expressions are important when expressing that emotion!

This is a useful little book to help children express their own emotions and also to help them over time learn to recognise such emotions in others. This will contribute to the development of their emotional intelligence as well as their social skills.

Allowing children to point to the faces, to indicate how they are feeling, is likely to be very helpful to parents in recognising their needs and managing their moods.

The illustrations were adequate, but not particularly appealing. Nevertheless they will do the job in terms of allowing this to be a good resource for young families. It gets 3.5 stars.

I think this book is great to read to children to show them that they can freely express their emotions. Loved that there was a little space at the end for kids to draw their own facial expressions.
Poetry is very easy and pleasant to read, just right for little ones. This book can help you, as a parent, convey the message to your child that they don't need to hide their emotions, and also take the conversation further.

I enjoyed the poetry of this book, and thought it would be wonderful for the little ones to open a conversation about their feelings and how they express them! I particularly loved the point to the face that you are feeling today as it gives parents a good tool to work with their children on identifying and communicating their emotions. However, I felt the illustrations felt a little flat and with picture books the imagery is just as important as the text.
