I absolutely adored every little short story in this collection. Some ofmy favorite authors collectively created such a fun read! I would love a fall and Christmas version of this. Each meet cute was unique and so fun to read. I'm usually a Valentines hater but this collection got me in the spirit. I rated it 5 stars and c as nt wait for my friends to dive in too.
I was so excited when I saw this collection of short stories as it included some of my favorite authors. I loved these quick reads, and it was nice to get this little love stories in so few pages. Romance is one of my favorite genres due to the comfort and predictability of a happily ever after and these lived up to that. I thought about rating them from most favorite to least favorite, but I don’t think I can.
I enjoyed reading this work from all these authors. This was the first time I had read Sally Thorpe, Sarah Wilson, and Jasmine Guillory. I will now be going through and adding more of their books to my reading list. I knew Abby Jimenez, Christina Lauren, and Ashley Poston would not disappoint.
Thank you to Amazon Original Stories and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my review!
I absolutely loved these stories! Such fun and creative meet cutes! I think the variety between them was great and loved the small connections too! Definitely recommend reading!
ARC review. I completed a short review on each short story. Overall a fantastic set of short stories that get you in the mood for Valentine’s Day!
Improbable meet cute - holy crap do I love reading these 2 grow over 10 years time. Less than a 1% chance this meet cute ever actually happens, but I want more! Book hangover from a Christina Lauren novella? Yup.
Worst wingman ever - how am I sobbing…full on sobbing at a paragraph that includes the phrase “dick guillotine”? Because no one does it like Abby Jimenez. Holly and John spread kindness on unsuspecting strangers and this story is not just about finding someone to share life with - but it’s ultimately about finding yourself when you get a bit lost.
Rosie and the dreamboat - These 2 meet in the most unexpected way and fate most definitely plays its part in their story. Think a Galentine’s day at the spa is a great way to spend some time relaxing? As I read, I kept thinking this story was a “blind date”. Sally Thorne = “chef’s kiss”.
Drop, cover, and hold on - an equal opportunity RBF diagnosis on a MMC! “Grump”/sunshine trope, yummy pastries, and a natural disaster? I’ll take it. Jasmine Guillory never disappoints.
With any Luck - what would you do for your best friend? For those of us girls who had male best friends growing up and get slightly annoyed because it’s rare to read a friends stay friends story in the romance genre, this story is for you. Ashley Poston still gives us a sweet HEA.
Royal Valentine - if you’re a Sariah Wilson fan, she stayed in her Royals of Monterra world for this short and sweet story. A romantic walk through Rome and some art history? Of course I’m a fan :).
Easiest 5 stars. Such good, cute, funny and romantic little books. I'm obsessed with them. Definitely worth reading them and will buy for friends.
This is the most darling collection of stories. Perfect for Valentine's Day, whether you are single or in a relationship. Each story contains a very improbable meet cute. My two favorite stories were from Christina Lauren and Abby Jimenez, two of my must-read authors. I wasn't familiar with some of the other authors, but after reading their stories, I plan to add their books to my list too.
I’m not usually a fan of short stories but this collection was so cute and fun! I did find it a little challenging to rate since some of the stories I adored and others were just ok so I averaged them out. If you are fans of any of the authors I’d definitely suggest reading this collection!
Thank you netgalkey for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this collection of short stories. All of these authors are so talented and are able to draw you into the story even with the short length! Such a fun collection to read around Valentine's Day!
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you so much to Netgalley, the publisher, and the authors for the ARC.
Christina Lauren and Abby Jimenez short stories?! 😍 Are you kidding?? These authors write some of my favorite romance books so when I saw they were taking part in this collection, I knew this would be a hit for me 🎉 These short stories are all improbable meet-cutes turned HEA’s centered around Valentine’s Day. I really loved the 1st 3 and would recommend prioritizing those! Cute cute cute and perfect quick reads for Valentine’s Day💖

This was a great collaboration and I loved all of the stories. Each author did a great job of providing a cute Valentine's short story and they were all very entertaining. Some of my favorite authors were included, and it was so much fun to ready. Definitely recommend this one!
Really enjoyed all these romance short stories!
All the stories in this short story collection revolve around Valentines Day, and they all have little Easter eggs connecting them to other stories in the collection.
Christina Lauren:
I love epistolaries in romances books, and this one is a mistaken identity, friends to lovers, with low angst, and has a star crossed lover feel to it. Could not help but cheer these two characters on! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Abby Jimenez:
Abby has a complete gift with writing stories that will make you cry and then laugh within pages of each other. She balances grief and comedy so well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sally Thorne:
Cute story with a very unique premise for the meet cute! Note for readers- if you get claustrophobic, this may not be the story for you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jasmine Gilroy:
Disaster Meet cute, with grumpy sunshine characters, spicy! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ashley Poston:
Second chances in love and luck - felt a little chaotic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sariah Wilson:
Royal romance, with mistaken identity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely SWOONED to CLo’s Callum and Terra in The Exception to the Rule. Immediate combustion on completion. True mastery achieved in a short story format.
Worst Wingman Ever has Abby Jimenez’s trademark wit and sass. John would made Ryder the-real-life-handyman proud!
4 stars!
This was a lovely collection. The stories are different from each other, so the collection is very versatile. The stories were quick to read, like lovely little sweet snacks!
My favorite was Rosie and the Dreamboat by Sally Thorne. I love everything Sally Thorne writes, this story made me laugh out loud. A very sweet story!
Such stories are wonderful to read. I felt good about them. I will definitely read again!
These six short stories by rom com legends were so much fun to read. I have, of course, heard of all of these authors but hadn’t had the opportunity to read their own individual work yet so, for some, it served as a really good introduction.
This little collection was so bingeable and hard to put down. Each of the stories was so fun to read - and would make a perfect galentines day gift to your book loving besties.
I would rate this collection as four stars because one of the short stories (Guillory’s) ended so abruptly that I thought the electronic version I was reading was missing a section. But I still enjoyed all of the stories!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced electronic version of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is one of the cutest short story collections I’ve ever read, and it is absolutely perfect for Valentine’s Day! These are some of the best romance authors at this time, and the writing shows it! I loved all of them and enjoyed the various ways in which the stories were told, i.e. emails, text messages, straight first person POV. I’m so grateful for this ARC and will be recommending to everyone!
I love the concept of not one amazing author.
This is a brilliant idea, 6 well known authors in one book, I wouldn't have looked at some before but very surprised how much I enjoy this book.
As the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover, but this book just made me want to get more from these authors.
Absolutely loved this collection of short stories! I was immediately drawn to The Improbable Meet-Cute because - how can you not love reading meet-cute romances?! Since I’m already familiar with most of the authors, I couldn’t wait to dive in. Each story was amazing - I didn’t want them to end! You fall fast for the characters and their happy endings. Would highly recommend this adorable collection.
Six short stories that all occur on or center around Valentine's Day. It was a really fun way to be introduced to some new to me authors! Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of The Improbable Meet-Cute Collection.
The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren: 5 stars. This was a super cute one, I was smiling so much. I loved the concept, definitely my favorite plot of the six short stories. Thinking back, it doesn't feel like a short story, it felt like a complete story without being rushed. Very impressive! Just one cringy over the top moment that pulled me out of the story... But I can get over it since I was hooked from beginning to end.
Worst Wingman Ever by Abby Jimenez: 5 stars. In true Abby fashion, this story was sweet, funny, and very emotional. I felt all the feels. I'm very impressed with how well flushed out the characters were for a short story, even the side characters had some depth to them. It was really well done. The only downside was the ending, I wanted more, and felt a little jipped! But overall, this one was my favorite of this short story collection.
Rosie and the Dreamboat by Sally Thorne: 4 stars. Another super cute one that left me smiling a lot. I loved the two main characters chemistry. But it really felt like the first few chapters to a novel, it didn't feel like a complete story. I would love to read a full novel on these two!
Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine Guillory: 3 stars. This one was a little disappointing given how much I liked the first three, but it was still a fun read. There were some good fundamentals to this story and characters but I didn't feel the depth I felt in the first three.
With Any Luck by Ashley Poston: 4 stars. This was a really fast read and probably had the most developed plot of the six short stories. I really liked the lead characters but wanted to get to know them a little more for a bigger impact. Fun plot!
Royal Valentine by Sariah Wilson: 3 stars. This was a fun concept and enjoyed the plot, but for some reason I didn't connect super well with the characters. Still entertaining but I had little vested interested.
