Overall, I thought this collection was a huge hit! There were some really great stand out stories and a couple I could have done without. Here are my thoughts on each individual story and my ratings:

Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine Guillory-
This was really cute! The audio narration was fantastic, but the ending was a bit of a let down. It felt very abrupt, like she didn't quite know where to end the story. I gave it 4/5 stars.

With Any Luck by Ashley Poston-
I'm a huge fan of Ashley Poston and this short story was a bit of a let down. It didn't have that magical spark her books had.
I gave this one 3.5/5 stars.

Rosie and the Dreamboat by Sally Thorne-
Another great audiobook in the collection! The idea was cute and the chemistry between the characters was perfection.
I gave this one 4/5 stars.

The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren-
One of my favorites! The audio was good, but you lost a little with the email correspondence. Storyline was great though and I loved the ending. I gave this one 4/5 stars.

Worst Wingman Ever by Abby Jimenez-
My favorite of the collection! She really knows how to tell a story and make you connect with the characters in a short amount of time.
This was an easy 5/5 stars.

Royal Valentine by Sariah Wilson-
The audiobook was TERRIBLE. The accents were just so so bad. On top of that, it just had too much go on and the ending with the big reveal made my eyes roll. I gave it 3/5 stars.

This was a collection of 6 stories that are incredibly entertaining. These are cute quick Novella that all give me that romcom feel I enjoyed each of the authors stories.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Lets do this again every holiday, mmmkay? I do think the word count was just a bit short, and the authors who pushed past the specific number a little bit wound up with slightly more rounded out stories but over all I found them all enjoyable. Christina Lauren and Abby Jimenez were my top favorites in this collection.

I will never skip a book written by Abby Jimenez or Christina Lauren! Thank you, NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories, for allowing me access to this anthology! My favorite short story goes to "Worst Wingman Ever" by Abby Jimenez. Told with Jimenez's signature humor and heart, I was so glad to have my Abby fix while I anxiously await the release of Just For The Summer! Christina Lauren's novella, "The Exception to the Rule" was also delightful. I enjoyed the way that the first half was told in email form. Sally Thorne's "Rosie and the Dreamboat" was solid. I'm not sure anything could hold a candle to The Hating Game, but it was enjoyable. The other three novellas were less memorable for me, but they were short, sweet, and fun to read in one session. Honestly, The Improbable Meet-Cute Collection is worth purchasing for Jimenez & Lauren's stories alone!

The Exception to the rule

Two students send each other gmail every year on Valentine's Day, without saying their names and nothing that can identify them. All dialogue is gmail style. I understand that it was a short story but it didn't have a meaningful development. It was a very rushed story and it didn't give me anything, except that he has a good penis.

Worst wingman Ever

They fell in love without knowing who they were. I liked the relationship that these characters had the most, the backstory of each one and the plot of Holly's grandmother.

Rosie and the dreamboat

Two sisters went to a spa and had a problem with a toilet. I don't have anything good to say about it.

Drop, Cover, and Hold on

He owns a coffee shop and she loves going there but she thinks he hates her. Until one day they are trapped and her mind changes.

With any luck
Two confused friends who realize on their wedding day that they are in love with their best friend. The story goes from yesterday to the present all on the same Valentine's Day. She was very boring.

I truly adored all the novellas in this book. It was the perfect book to read in February. Even though the stories were around 50-100 pages long, I felt that they captured the perfect essence of a cute, wholesome love story. I think all six authors wrote beautiful stories and I highly recommend these books to anyone looking for an easy read and a cute rom-com story.

This set of novellas was darling... and just what I needed in between books. I rated each story separately and averaged the ratings to give the book a 4 star rating!

Worst Wingman Ever by Abby Jimenez - 5 Stars. Abby can do no wrong! -- this story was so heartfelt, despite how short it was. I adored it!

The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren - 4.25 stars. Another very cute story. I loved it.

Rosie and the Dreamboat by Sally Thorne - 3 stars. This one I enjoyed but it did nothing out of the ordinary for me.

Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine Guillory - 4 stars. First time I am reading anything by this author but she is on my TBR. I really liked this story. It was so cute.. had a little bit of heat and was endearing!

With Any Luck by Ashley Poston - 4 stars. This story was super cute. Anything Ashley Poston writes is so sweet!

Royal Valentine by Sariah Wilson - 3 stars. This one was just OK for me. I dont know why this one did not hit the mark for me.

These were the absolute cutest novella’s perfect for Valentine’s Day that were all filled with adorable meet cute situations!

Overall, what I really wanted was for Christina Lauren’s and Abby Jimenez’s stories to be full length, they were just that good and that adorable!

All of these novella’s are under 100 pages with NO THIRD ACT BREAK UPS IN ANY OF THEM plus some witty banter! 👏🏼

I 100000% recommend this series especially with Valentine’s Day right around the corner or if you’re just looking for some quick reads! 💯

I was so excited to receive an E-ARC for this collection of short stories from some of my favorite authors. Unfortunately most of them ended up reading like a high school creative writing prompt, but overall they are fun, quick stories of finding love on Valentine’s Day. Available for free on Kindle Unlimited!

Whenever there are multiple stories in one collection I find it a bit difficult to rate, but I gave five stars to my favorite from the collection, The Exception to the Rule by Christina Lauren. For the rest of the collection I gave two four stars, and three two star ratings, so overall I'll give this collection a 3, but this was a fun collection and idea for Valentine's Day.

Writing a novella with a fleshed out story and realistic multi-dimensional characters is a tall order, but these authors managed to do it. I really enjoyed this one, and I love that I got introduced to some new to me authors through these short stories!

The Improbable Meet Cute is a collection of six short stories by some of the best current romance authors. Christina Lauren, Abby Jimenez, and Ashley Poston are three of my favorite authors, so I was thrilled to see them included in this collection.

Each story was unique and delightful to read. This collection was perfect for February, as the rom-com fit the Valentine’s vibe. It was a busy month, so it was great that each story was short enough to be read in a single sitting.

While I had some standout favorites (The Exception to the Rule and Worst Wingman Ever), I enjoyed all six stories. I've heard of all of the authors but hadn't yet read anything by three of them, so this was a great way to sample their work. The whole collection would be great for someone who wants to dip their toes into the romance genre or a new author without committing to a full-length novel.

These were so cute! I will write a short review for each in order of how liked them below :)

1. The Worst Wingman Ever - so sad but so amazing! I wish there was a full book on this one <3
2. The Exception to the Rule - loved this one and the multi media aspect! Super cute and loved the ending
3. With Any Luck - This one was super fun but I didn't believe the romance unfortunately
4. Royal Valentine - this one was a really fun plot and I loved the twist at the end
5. Rosie and the Dreamboat.- the plot was a bit ridiculous but I enjoyed it either way
6. Drop Cover and Hold On - steamy for SURE but I didn't care for either character and found it to be a bit forced
