As this was my first Annie Rains book, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was drawn in immediately by the small town and its charming inhabitants. The fact that each chapter began with a quote from other books was a delight. I’m always partial to books about books, although there was so much more to enjoy: Second chance love, friendship, family drama and of course the love of books with a happily ever after!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for the wonderful arc!
Oh my goodness this was such an amazing book! The one thing that always happens every time I read something by Annie Rains is that it'll cause me to laugh, cry, and smile alot! This was such a captivating story from the very beginning and it was really hard to put it down. I hope there will be more books to come!
When Savannah Collin’s finds herself without a fiancé because he couldn’t handle her newly diagnosed medical condition, without a job, and without a place to live, she returns to Bloom, North Carolina, to spend the summer with her Aunt Eleanor. She reconnects with her childhood friend, Evan Sanders, who is a little annoyed with Savannah as to why she didn’t return earlier. Once he realizes Savannah wasn’t aware of things going on in her aunt’s life, he eases up and the two begin to repair their friendship. A storm does damage to the little Finders Keepers Library in Eleanor’s garden, where a wedding is due to take place in a matter of weeks, and Evan and other community members pitch in to help with the repairs.
The more time Savannah spends with her aunt and Evan, and other friends, the more she wonders if maybe this is where she was meant to be after all.
A heartwarming story!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Whenever I need a feel-good book, I know that I can count on Annie Rains. I was not disappointed with this book at all. The Finders Keepers Library is a story about finding your way again after loss, believing in yourself again, and hope. And its all thorough the power of books bringing people together. This has all the makings of a Hallmark movie. A quick read, you will enjoy this. Great for a raining day to help the sun come out. Many thanks to #netgalley #thefinderskeeperslibrary #annierains for the chance to read and review this book.
Thank you to NetGallery for the opportunity to read The Finders Keepers Library. What an amazing book! Before I turned the first page, I was immediately drawn to this book. Annie Rains did a wonderful job developing her characters to describe all the emotions each of them felt. I laughed, felt frustrated, cried along with each of the characters. I immediately felt a part of the story with Savannah, Eleanor, June, Evan and the rest of the town.
The added addition of the many quotes and book references was a wonderful gem. Loved this book and would highly recommend it!
The Finders Keepers Library - small town, second chance romance.
This is a later in life romance & I absolutely love that - not a theme commonly found. Great character development. Such a fun read that I will definitely be recommending! Excited to read more books by this author.
Thank you to NetGalley & Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this ARC!
This book was a fun little story. A very cozy small town second chance romance. I thought the characters were sweet and liked the development of them. I good read if you are looking for a small town vibe with perseverance and over coming anxieties.
I've read a lot of books about books lately. This was another good one. I loved the book references. It was a love story, but I liked the added layers about dealing with illness and adversity. It was a little long and repetitive near the end, but still a sold three stars. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
I loved this cute romance. This book is written for the book lover with lots of literary quotes and book references. You will get lost in a magical setting with rose gardens and hidden libraries. This is the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.
I loved this story about Savannah who heads off to Bloom to see her Aunt Eleanor. Savannah now has no job, her fiancee' broke their engagement because she developed Lupus and he didn't want to live his life with her dragging him down. So off she goes. Her aunt had fallen and no longer wanted to go our of the house. Her best friend Evan lived near her aunt with his daughter June. His wife had died. . Eleanor had been a librarian and had the Finders Keepers Library on her property. Not long after Savannah got there a storm happened and worked with the others to rebuild the garden and library as Madison was getting married there. To say anymore would spoil the story. This is a VERY GOOD READ.
I love stories by Annie Rains. I love the idea of the library in this story but honestly had a harder time liking the main female characters in this book. Not my favorite of Annie Rains but still one of my favorite authors.
Annie Rains has once again proven her talent in crafting heartwarming and engaging novels with her latest release, The Finders Keepers Library. The story centers around Savannah Collins, who after a broken engagement, finds herself without a job or a place to call home. Seeking refuge, she decides to pay a visit to her beloved Aunt Eleanor, whom she spent all her childhood summers with. Little did Savannah know her Aunt needed her help as well, which meant that she would be spending the summer in the small town. Unexpectedly, Savannah's childhood crush, who also happens to be her aunt's neighbor, makes a reappearance in her life, making her summer more interesting than she had anticipated!
As a fan of Annie Rains, I am always excited to read her! The novel is full of depth and emotion, and the endearing characters will leave a lasting impression on readers. Annie Rains has once again shown her exceptional talent in writing small-town romances that are captivating and heartwarming. The Finders Keepers Library is a 5 star novel and did not disappoint. It is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a sweet and engaging story that will leave them feeling warm and fuzzy inside.
I loved this story. The multi generational storyline was touching to me. I loved the older in life romance. In this story, you CAN go home again!!!
Annie Rains has another hit with this read. Savannah is recovering from the break up of her fink of a fiancée. Her Aunt Eleanor has the perfect respite home for Savannah to heal. Add in Savannah old flame from teenage years, friends, a destructive storm, health issues and it leads to a very heartwarming and heartbreaking read. I was given an advanced reader copy of this very well written book by NetGalley and I am freely sharing my review.
Savannah Collins is headed to Bloom, NC to her aunts home. Savannah has been dumped by her fiancé; she has no job, home, and health issues. She always spent summers with her aunt and uncle. She had two friends in town and Evan Sanders is one of them and lives next door. They haven't seen each other in years. After a storm blows thru town and tears up her aunt's garden and Finders Keepers Library that is in the garden she stays to get the garden in shape for an upcoming wedding.
Evan is raising his 12 year-old daughter and she is not happy about moving to Bloom. Her mother just died, and she wants to go back to California to her grandmother's home.
Savannah health issues flare up and she has to let everyone know about her problems. She has been searching for a new job; but doesn't really want to leave Bloom.
I always enjoy Annie's books; they are so each to read.
The Finders Keepers Library is a wonderful place that anyone can come in and browse the books there and take the ones that interest them. Eleanor, whose husband created this dream for her, also created his dream of a beautiful garden.
Her niece, Savannah, was diagnosed with a disease, her boyfriend ended things with her, and she was without a job. She decided to go visit her Aunt Eleanor, whereas a child, she spent summers there. When she arrived, she found out her aunt had a fall, and she has changed in so many ways. A storm comes, and does a lot of damage to both the library and the garden. Savannah, meets Evan again, who she spent time with during the summers she stayed there.
I enjoyed following along as the work begins on fixing the garden and the library. It was amazing to see the changes there but also in the people who lived there, Everyone's journey is different, and brings them to discovering different things, seeing the choices they make, and who they are after going through everything. Everyone has their own journey, and sometimes they weave in and out of other peoples, and that is what kept me reading. It makes the story like no other I have read.
I received an ARC from Forever through NetGalley.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A beautiful story of second chances.
Savannah returns to visit her aunt (a retired librarian) in Bloom, NC after experiencing some turbulent life events (a medical diagnosis, a break up, etc). She spent most of her childhood summers there and being there brings her peace.
We meet characters that she grew up with and with whom second chances begin to bloom (see what I did there?).
Savannah isn’t the only one who is embracing second chances. I won’t give away too much as it truly is a beautiful experience to watch the story unfold.
I also loved that each chapter started with a literary quote, so fun!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc of this book.
I enjoyed this book. I really liked that it centered around books and I liked all the book quotes and references. I liked the characters and that they were always there for each other. There were real life issues which gave the book depth.
I really liked the idea of the back yard library, but it didn't play as big a role as I had hoped. I would like to have seen more people come by and borrow books, and even talk about them. I was also underwhelmed by Savannah and Evan's relationship. I just didn't feel the connection.
All in all, though, I really liked it and would recommend to anyone looking for a feel good, small town read.
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
The Finders Keepers Library, a wonderfully welcome place where folks can come in to choose free books and often leave books for others to choose. Lovingly built for Evelyn by her late husband, it is nestled in their backyard near the beautiful rose archway. Evelyn is known for book recommendations and reading lists tailored to each recipient.
Savannah, Evelyn’s granddaughter, is blindsided when her boyfriend breaks up with her as she’s still learning to deal with her lupus diagnosis. Reeling from the breakup, and in between jobs, Savannah decides to spend some time with her grandmother, Evelyn. It’s been a long time since she’s been in touch and her last visit. Plus, there’s to be a wedding in Evelyn’s backyard soon that Savannah can help with. Savannah’s next-door childhood friend, Evan, is next door again, now with his daughter, June, and he’s not happy with Savannah. He feels that Savannah should’ve been there after Evelyn’s fall some months back.
Storm damage to the Finders Keepers Library threatens to derail the preparations for the wedding. As Savannah and Evan work on repairs, they also find themselves getting to know each other all over again.
The Finders Keepers Library is for anyone who loves books and a great story! I really enjoyed it. Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
I am not much of a typical romance reader but a few things caught my eye when reading the preview for this book. A book about books is always a highlight for me but add in it’s based in North Carolina and it was a must read for me.
Yes this was an easy read but I know a lot of people love those, especially romance based. Actually, the whole time I was reading it all I could think of was how much my mother in law would’ve enjoyed this book. She could read 2-3 in a day.
Not being a huge fan of predictable storylines did not stop this from being an enjoyable book. It’s just not my favorite genre. However it will definitely be some people’s 5 star book and that’s great.
I liked all the characters and their development throughout the book. I enjoyed reading about real life scenarios, not just everything being storybook style. Death, illness, & injuries are real life and that was refreshing to have.
Overall I would absolutely recommend this to anyone but especially people who like non 🌶️ romances that are quaint and cozy.
