Fantastic!
I loved this and it was a fantastic continuation of the series. I loved continuing with this story and seeing wehre it was headed. These create such a great atmosphere
I think I must have accidentally requested this book, as I have no memory of requesting it and it’s not the type of book I usually review. It also is smack dab in the middle of a series I have not read. Obviously this left me utterly confused. The writing is creative and lyrical. There are quite a lot of characters so there’s bound to be someone for everyone. It seems like a decent follow up for those who enjoyed the first.
The second installment in the Raven Cycle series, beautifully written and imaginative like all of Stiefvater's books are. She creates original and interesting stories and characters that we grow attached to and begin to care about a lot. I will definitely be finishing this series.
I loved Raven Boys but I wasn't as into this book. It seemed like it jumped all over the place. I really wanted to like it but I wasn't a fan 🤷♀️.
Maggie Stiefvater does it again! I didn't think anything could top the ending of Raven Boys until reading this! Getting to know these characters and follow them through their journey has been a privilege!
I loved the first in this series, with all my heart, and I loved the wolves books, and Scorpio Races is one of my very favorites. This just went a little off the rails for me, and I felt bad bc so many of my friends loved this series. It was just okay.
I quite liked this. Maybe even more than the first. Probably more. I liked the character development and that the focus was more on Ronan and his dreams. I still don't quite get everything that is going on, but I like it anyway.
I read the first book but was not impressed but still enjoy a lot of it. But i never got back into the series.
Maggie is a master at interesting fantasy, lots of thrills in this one and interesting characters and situations
OMG...After reading this book I was speechless for a few minutes straight which isn't something that happens to me often. Author Maggie Stiefvater is one author that will forever be on my favorites list. This whole series has become some of my all time favorite books!
While Maggie is one of my favorite authors I could not finish this book. I know our customers will love it and I will definitely recommend it but it didn't grab and hold my attention. Her writing is always so amazing as was this title, the pace was just a tad slow for me.
How is it that the last 20% of this book is the good part?! HOW?! Anyways, I’m done and I already have the third audiobook so onward and upward… hopefully!
Obviously, I’m still hooked onto this series and these characters. After the rather slow start of the first one, I didn’t expect an even longer, quieter place in the second installment.
Not that it matters. #theRavenCycle for life!
But okay let’s talk about the second book in the Raven Cycle. Some characters I started to care about even more, while others even less.
I loved loved that this book focused on Ronan, if for no other reason than he was the character that left me with the most questions at the end of the first book. The next character who gave me more questions than answers, being Blue, of course.
Also, I dreaded the Gray Man’s sections in the book. Talk about BORING! And then there was Adam who kept on irritating the heck out of me. I think that’s supposed to be the point of his character, but c’mon guy can we please move on?!
As I mentioned earlier, I was determined to finish this book so I could get to the next one, but the fact that it took 4/5 of the book to really grab my attention was actually rather annoying.
This book had more negatives than positives in terms of pacing and in regards to certain characters, yes, but I did appreciate learning more about Glendower, Cabeswater, the Greywaren and ley lines. You definitely get a sense of things building up to something and I mean this author knows what she’s doing..
Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into this one. I can see why others may like it, but it was ultimately not the best fit for me.
Riveting! The Raven Boys series continues to be engaging.
