Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo Romance for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Little did I know that when I downloaded this book, that it was the second book in the 'Cornish Cover Series' I have actually read the previous book New Dreams at Polkerran Point, without knowing. And when I started reading this book I thought the setting and characters were very familiar. I had to double check on Goodreads that I hadn't already read it. I was attracted by the lovely illustrated from cover.
This book follows Lauren, who escapes to Plkerran Point to stay with her best friend Anna in her B&B after her recent break-up. Not only that but Lauren discovers she is pregnant and the Father, Kit wants nothing to do with the baby. Knowing that a termination is not on the cards for her she travels to see her friend to get some advice. Finding a calm and serenity that she hasn't felt in a long time Lauren decides to stay there until the birth of her daughter and gain some much needed perspective. She forms a friendship with local handyman Dan and realises that without knowing it she has fallen head over heels in love with him.
I have to say this book is as lovely as the first. The location and quirky characters just keep you turning the pages. I love stories about friendship and village life where everyone helps each other out. I will definitely look out for other books in the series and by the author.
We're back in Polkerran Point for the second of Cass Grafton's Little Cornish Cove series. On this occasion, the story features Anna's friend Lauren Kirkham, who arrives in the village for a two week stay. Party girl Lauren had finally settled down with high flyer Kit. But sadly there are complications, due to an unexpected pregnancy. and Kit's reluctance to become a father. Coming just prior to their planned move to the States to work, it has proved a big problem and she needs the support of her best friend Anna.
Escape to Polkerran Point is every bit as enjoyable as the first book. It's a light, romantic read with drama, humour, and great characters. And one of the best things about it is it's set in Cornwall, one of my favourite holiday destinations.

I would like to thank Canelo, the author and Netgalley for an ARC of Escape to Polkerran Point in exchange for an honest review.
When Lauren arrives in Polkerran Point to stay with her friend Anna, she’s jobless, boyfriendless and pregnant – not a state she ever imagined she’d be in. She needs to step away from her life for while to consider her options and the heart of a Cornish village community seems a good place to be. Meanwhile Anna’s neighbour Daniel urgently needs a fake girlfriend to fulfil a filming commitment for his ‘Grand Designs’ dream house.
It was good to catch up with characters from the first Polkerran Point novel, but this book can be read as a standalone too. Cass Grafton’s love for Cornwall shines through in her portrayal of the village, which is the perfect virtual West Country escape without going anywhere near the M5.
A cute cozy romance with lovable characters.
I'm not much of a fan of the pregnancy trope which is probably why I didn't rate ir higher, however, the realtionship between the characters and that "little town" vibe was enouch for me to enjoy it.
Lauren Kirkham is a high-flyer who flees to Polkerran Point to see her best friend, Anna, when her partner, Kit, decides he doesn’t want the baby that Lauren is pregnant with!
What starts as a 2 week visit, ends up with Lauren deciding to stay and help Anna with her B&B, while she decides how to process her thoughts and life.
Her thoughts and plans take a turn as she starts to have feelings for Daniel, a close friend of Anna’s and her partner Oliver. Can Lauren decide what is best for her life?
I loved this second book in the Little Cornish Cove series.
The characters are relatable and believable. I adored the friendship between Anna and Lauren, there was a closeness that came across more as sisters than best friends.
I enjoyed seeing how Lauren’s pregnancy progressed throughout and had a soft spot for the baby before it was even born!
The will they, won’t they vibe for any kind of relationship between Lauren and Daniel was great to read. The pair of them have so much baggage between them, it’s hard to see how things could work out for them. However, I was rooting for them both throughout!
The community spirit in the story was wonderful. It reminded me of being a child, when everyone would walk in each other’s houses for a cuppa and chat! The descriptive writing of the area was sublime.
Some great humour that made me giggle now and then, especially the names for the locals.
My thanks to NetGalley and Canelo Romance for a copy in exchange for my honest review.
Enjoyable and well written romance. Lovely setting and I enjoyed visiting this lovely place and meeting everyone.
I enjoyed my visit to Polkerran Point and wanted to walk on the beach as Lauren did. I haven’t read the first book in this series but don’t feel that affected my enjoyment of the story. Believable characters living life with all its complications. A feel good read with many twists and turns.
This is the right book to read when you want to relax and escape reality. A well plotted and entertaining story that made me smile and root for the characters

Just a beautiful read . Set in Cornwall. Lauren came to stay with her friend after job problems and she is pregnant .You follow her making decisions ,falling in love with her bump, Also falling in love. It is a lovely feel good read and a great ending which you wondered if it would ever happen. It is one of a series but can read alone. Her friend also has things happening. Read it
It is a feel-good story with an interesting storylie set in beautiful scenery, and a motley crew of loveable characters.
I can recommend it to everyone who loves a nice romance.
I love a sweet cozy romance and this book has all the perfect ingredients. I love how it has the fake dating and we all know how that usually turns out, but it never gets old or fails to put a email in readers faces. Also the gorgeous scenery and descriptions don’t hurt either. More to come on this one soon.
