Thanks to NetGalley and Lighthouse Books for the opportunity to read an advanced digital copy of “Courier” by Zoe Rosi. This is the first novella I’ve read by Ms. Rosi, and I plan to read more of her books. I loved this novella. Bob, a local courier, delivers packages to a house, and the husbands always signs for the packages. He happens to see a beautiful woman in the background peering behind the husband, whom he assumes is an abused woman. Bob becomes obsessed with her, wants to save her, and stalks the family. The story is told from Bob’s point of view, and he tries to do everything he can to covertly insert himself into her life. He is creepy, thinks he’s cunning, and assumes no one notices his stalking. Is his arrogant assumption correct or incorrect? The conclusion of the novella was explosive and unforgettable. I thought I figured out how the novella would end, but I still found it shocking. I thought about Shakespeare’s quote, “Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when once we practice to deceive.”
You can’t go wrong reading "Courier" by Zoe Rossi, which has a publication date of January 31, 2024. Courier is fast-paced, entertaining, and thought-provoking novella.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lighthouse Books, and the author Zoe Rossi, for the advanced copy of Courier.
I loved it! The suspense and creepy feeling throughout the book-where is this going to go? How will this play out? Will they meet? Does he see her? Does she see him? Constantly anticipating the next page while you are quickly finishing the page you are on! Short chapters that lead you directly to the next.
Blending into the background......Have you ever noticed your delivery man- UPS, Fedex, uber, Amazon?...So many people who may see you, but make you wonder....do you see them?
Pick up this captivating read if you are looking for something to perk you up .... and make you check behind your back while you read it!
Such a fast paced and gripping story! I started it and couldn’t put it down. The suspense was maintained throughout the story and then the ending! Fantastic. I don’t want to give details, because you really just need to read it yourself. It’s such a fun and intriguing read, that I’d hate to spoil it! So much story succinctly packed into this novella.
I loved this short story. I'm a fan of the show ‘You’ so starting this book really had me feeling the same. Great pace and nice to crawling into Bob’s mind. Very nice twist at the end! Recommended for someone that loves murder mysteries but can’t wait for the ending to unfold.
Thank you NetGalley, and Zoe Rosi for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
i enjoyed this book it reminded me of the Robin Williams film 'One Hour Photo'. A lonely delivery man becomes obsessed with one of the houses on his delivery routes. The book is written from first person, as a letter or diary entry that this addressed to the woman he is obsessed with. This is where i need to stop or it will go into spoilers which is upsetting as i would like to talk about how my mind changes as the story goes on. Who is good and who is evil etc. But i suppose you'll have to read it yourself.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Courier by Zoe Rosi.
Meet Bob, your local courier.
You've barely noticed him. You've barely even looked his way. But he's noticed you. He's noticed everything about you. He's been paying very close attention indeed.
And he likes what he sees...
I did enjoy this short read. I loved the cover. Bob was different. He is unique. I read this in one sitting. I did love how it was from Bob and how he was talking to his obsession. Didn't see that coming. The ending had my jaw on the floor. 5*.
This was brilliant i could not put this down it had me gripped from the start this was written really well and i did not see the plot twist coming such a gripping read from start to finish i would highly recommed this book
Solid, well-written novella about a delivery man who becomes obsessed with a woman he sees in the background after delivering a package to her potentially abusive husband. He starts thinking about ways to get rid of the hubby then move in on the grieving wife. It moves along nicely to a not-so-surprising ending which nevertheless satisfies and brings the story full circle. A quick read I enjoyed. 3.5 stars bumped to 4 for the quality of writing. Thanks to Netgalley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars
I adore a good horror book! This one was a bit different but only because I didn’t read it on the NetGalley app, haha. 5 stars though, I loved the writing and characters.
Fifty-year-old Bob has earned a master’s degree, travelled the world and had a fair few jobs in his time, even owning a shop for ten years, but now works as a delivery man, invisible and unnoticed by people. He is intrigued by the occupants of one address. Hearing the shouting from inside, he normally leaves their parcel on the step but one day he has to obtain a signature and is transfixed by the owner’s wife Natalie. In fact, he becomes obsessed within his fantasy, and in his twisted little mind is convinced she needs to be rescued and freed from her controlling husband. He watches the house for glimpses of her and stalks her on social media. Oh Bob, what will you do for love?
It's dark, it’s sad and it’s very unsettling. Bob might be creepy but he’s also a victim of his delusions. As a novella, this story packs in a lot as it follows Bob’s narration of the twisty plot with a great, if not totally surprising, ending.
I also had the pleasure of listening to this on audio and the narrator is the perfect chilling choice for Bob. Book or audio, this makes for an engrossing few hours.
Starts out strong and brings the shock, but towards the end, it becomes unrealistic and ends abruptly. If the ending has been stronger, this would have been a great on the edge of your seat thriller..
Courier - Zoe Rosi
I first discovered Zoe Rosi's writing when I read ‘Pretty Evil’, so good that I read her ‘Someone's Watching Me’ immediately after. It's very rare for me to read two books by the same author back to back.
I couldn't wait to read this psychological thriller novella compared to 'You' meets 'Engleby'.
Bob is a courier, delivering parcels all day in his van, he blends in, you might not notice him. What if the courier becomes obsessed with one of the people he delivers to? What if he starts to imagine what goes on behind closed doors?
The premise is great and the main character writing is excellent. You really get sucked into to Bob’s slightly twisted view of the world around him, and dragged along on his descent into obsession.
It’s a novella, which I know not everyone reads, but this deserves mentioning with ‘You’ and ‘If I Can’t Have You’ as some of the best obsessive stalker fiction.
I'm eagerly awaiting Zoe Rosi's next full length novel.
👏☺️📚

Creepy and clever. I loved this spin on such an ordinary thin, such an ordinary person in all our lives that could turn out to be something so horrific.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lighthouse Books for this ARC.
This is a short but super creepy novella. It really reminded me of the tv show "You"
It's amazing how much you can fit into such a short book but this was an incredible read. I finished it one sitting!
I love a unreliable narrator.
The end of this book was fantastic, I was absolutely not expecting that at all!
This short novella took me completely by surprise. It definitely had "You" vibes but with a twist.
We sometimes see our delivery people, but what if they "see" us? They know our habits by the things we order, how many times we order them, and what we look like if we have to come to the door. And what if that delivery person developed an unhealthy obsession with us? This short read delivered all of that and more!
I also loved that the author introduced me to the acronym F.I.L.T. H. (Failed in London, Trying Hastings). Google it -it's hilarious!
Also - ignore the cover - this book is so much better than that!
Thanks so much to NetGalley and Lighthouse books for an advance reader's copy introducing me to another new-to-me author!
This is a very short and creepy read. It totally reminded me of the TV show, "You". The author did a great job at packing an intense plot into few pages. Reading a stalker book through the eyes of the stalker is completely different than the reverse. You realize how unhinged these stalkers are and what crazy things they will do for "love".
The ending was super clever and well done - and definitely left me super shocked! I really enjoyed Zoe Rosi's writing style. Looking forward to reading more of her novels in the future.
Thank you Lighthouse Books and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received an DARC of this book via NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Bob’s a nobody. Just another DoorDash/Uber/Postman; someone anonymous. Someone you’d never pay attention to or even think twice about. While you might not think about Bob, Bob sure thinks about you. He knows everything about you and will do anything to make you his.
I need a full novel of this! I could not put it down!! It really hits close to home! How many of us order things from Amazon or DoorDash and never think twice about our delivery driver? Zoe makes you realize you have no idea who is delivering to you or what they are thinking. But Zoe also makes a good point; nobody fully knows what goes on behind closed doors. That twist at the ending??? Oh my GOSH!!! I couldn’t believe it. Holy hell. Pick up this novella. You won’t regret it.
“Estrangement is a grubby, thorny subject. The loneliest for of grief.”
Zoe Rosi’s novella tells the story of Bob, he’s a courier who goes unnoticed by many. What people don’t realise is that Bob can see everything and he knows more than one would think, so much so it may frighten them.
This was a brilliant wee horror story. It’s a subject matter most don’t think about because it’s part of your everyday life. Who is the faceless courier and what are they capable of? That is explored in this novella that reaches chilling heights as Bob’s life is explored.
The vignettes into Bob’s rational are creepy and messed up. These made his point of views quite disturbing to read. Once his character settled on a decision here was no going back.
For a short read this story will capture the readers attention straight away. It will unnerve some and make you question things we may take for granted.
Courier was an unsettling look into the life of a seemingly ordinary Joe.
Thank you to Netgalley and Lighthoise Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This officially publishes on 1/30/24!
This book was a wild ride. I would classify it more as a novella, at 117 pages. This is told from a single POV, and the narrator’s character is questionable at best. 80% of this book was unsettling, and the other 20% was shocking. Please check out any relative trigger warnings before picking this one up but I would recommend this as a good quick thriller read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lighthouse Press for the advance copy of Courier.
Courier is an unsettling stalker novella where Bob becomes obsessed with Natalie, a woman on his delivery route.
I found it unsettling reading about Bob using social media to find a way into Natalie's life and how easily this could happen. I also enjoyed the descriptions of the seaside town where courier is set as it's an area that I'm familiar with and the writing captured the feel of the town perfectly. I would recommend this book to people who have enjoyed You by Caroline Kepnes.
This was my first book by Zoe Rosi and I have already looked up her other books which I'm looking forward to reading soon.
