I am SO glad I stumbled upon Courier. This little novella is action packed and fear inducing. Zoe Rosi crafted the most unsettling story about a fear I think most women have nowadays, a delivery man obsessing over us and inserting himself into our lives somehow. Bob is the most unremarkable (yet unbarably arrogant) character I could have imaged; it feels like Zoe took one of my exes and slapped his personality to a T into this book. Natalie, the object of his obsession, is more than meets the eye though...
This was a really solid read with little room for improvement. I think the ending felt a bit abrupt, making me wish there had been more solid clues leading to the final result. I will definitely be looking forward to more works from Zoe Rosi after this one. I'd give this a 4.5/5 but we can round up to a 5. Thank you, NetGalley for the eARC!
I love a good stalker story, and the fact that this was a novella made it even better. Quick, fast paced and creepy, this was a perfect book to read in 1 sitting during the blizzard that is raging outside!
If you are a fan of You, you’d definitely like this one. And the twist at the end, perfection.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I was intrigued about the premise of this novella so was pleased when I was accepted to read it before it was released. The story flowed, kept my attention and made me want to carry on reading. I actually started to like Bob, the creepy courier and the ending came as a big surprise 😳
Courier is a good example of how to fit a surprising amount of story in very few pages. Its main character, Bob, is the kind of character that keeps you guessing, about what he's going to do next and how much of what he says about himself is true and how much is delusion which made for a quite anxiogenic read. That being said, the best thing about this one, as far as I'm concerned, was still the ending, which was absolute perfection.
If you enjoyed the show You but thought it was a bit much, this one is probably going to be more your speed (I know the show is based on a book but I haven't read it so I'm strictly talking about the show here).
Many thanks to Lighthouse Books and Netgalley for providing me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I really enjoyed this novella. It was a quick read, and had an ending I wasn't expecting! I love novellas as they (usually) leave out the boring details and get right to the point. This was no exception! Hooked me the whole time. I was expecting a bit more "horror" to this due to the cover, but it wasn't that way at all.
Thanks to NetGalley and Lighthouse for the ARC in return for my honest review!
3.5-4 stars
This is a novella length thriller and I have to be honest, because it's so short I would recommend reading it for the ending alone, because that was fun.
A delivery driver becomes obsessed with someone he delivers a package to.
Can you imagine your UPS driver stalking you? I know, right? Now I'm leary of all that online shopping I do!
Jokes aside, the plot line is interesting but I found the delivery of the story too similar to You and Joe Goldberg. I'm reading along, kind of feeling like I had read this before, UNTIL the ending hits. Like I said, worth a quick read for the ending alone.
This was a fun, quick read novella.
The courier, Bob, delivers to the same house regularly. He often hears yelling and screaming, until one day he sees a woman and child, with pleading eyes. He’s determined to rescue them!
In his fantasy mind, he falls in love with this beautiful woman. In reality, he finds a way to meet her, and live happily ever after.
DOES HE?
This book was reminiscent of You, by Caroline Kepnes.

4 stars.
Watch out Joe Goldberg, there is a new stalker in town and his name is Bob! This is a short, stalker novella that lives up to the hype. I could not put it down! I think with the length of this, I wasn't expecting much but this little gem really delivers. I will say that I somewhat predicted the ending but I still loved it. I love morally gray characters and this one definitely delivers in that regard. Bob was obsessed with Natalie from the moment he laid eyes on her and the stalking, watching, and plotting ensues.
Thanks to NetGalley, Lighthouse Books and Zoe Rosi for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book captivated me, I had not read anything written like this before.
It had an amazing twist. I did not see coming. I was convinced it would end diffrent.
The MMC is a cocky weird guy who gives me the creeps, but then I guess that is who his meant to be. I could picture him perfectly
I would recommend to anyone that loves a thriller
Really packs a punch for a novella! Usually with novellas I feel there's not enough there to give it substance, but this definitely hit the mark. Stalking taken to the next level good with a very satisfying ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and Lighthouse Books for this eARC.
Well I can tell you if you ever get packages you gotta sign for….. you will never look at your courier
The same ever again! As a delivery driver he witnessed someone in distress. What he does about this situation is nothing short of sinister! And stay tuned folks because it gets even crazier! That ending will absolutely blow your mind! Never in a million did I see that coming! Such a fantastic read!!
First I would like to thank Netgalley and Lighthouse Books for providing the ARC of Zoe Rosi’s novella, “Courier”, which is due for publication 1/30/24.
To say that "Courier" is a page turner would be an understatement. The writing is solid, the main protagonist, Bob is a study on jaw-dropping human behavior. I could not turn the pages fast enough. I don’t want to divulge more than that as I do not want to get into spoiler territory.
There are definitely similarities in “Courier” to Caroline Kepnes’s “You” series. Not in a bad or lazy way though. The turns and twists are not always unpredictable, but that’s OK. “Courier” is a solid 4 out of 5 stars for this reader. If you are looking for a quick and entertaining ride, I highly recommend this horror thriller.

What a strange little book. If you liked You by Caroline Kepnes you'll probably like this short story about a man who crosses paths with a woman whilst delivering a package to her home. What ensues is an unhealthy obsession with meeting her in real life. It's unbelievable what people will do to justify their thoughts and 'love' for someone they don't even know.
I really liked the writing style and hope to read more from this author. If you like a meet-cute with a shocking, if not unusual ending, you'll like this.
I loved this novella the writing was fantastic and the story is told from the stalkers point of view which was a very different type of read for me but I enjoyed it! I never guessed what would happen at the end it was a shocker for me for sure I would have liked a little more explanation at the end like why??? But regardless it was a great 5 star read. I will highly recommend!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this ARC.
A creepy and creative stalker read. Told through the eyes of the actual stalker is something I’ve never read before—it gave me the heebie-jeebies.
I loved the way Rose created Bob’s (you only find out his name halfway through which adds to the creepy) voice. It was pompous and self-righteous—perfect for his character.
I will say, however, that I felt a bit bored by some of it. It seemed to be the same thing over and over again, Bob stalking and then some more stalking. About 60% through is when things really started to pick up. I guessed the end so I wasn’t particularly shocked but it was a nice twist!
Overall a great book I’d recommend to mostly anyone.
Unfortunately, there might have been some glitch with me getting this title since I was approved 3 days ago and it's still not showing on my netgalley shelf app, so I have no way of reading this. I'm "reviewing" it only so it doesn't affect my feedback ratio.
The writing was crisp and solid. The ending felt a little off to me, but I can't quite put my finger on the specifics of why. It just felt as though it came out of nowhere.
Still an enjoyable, though unsettling read. My sense of dread grew with each chapter, unsure of what Bob would get up to next.
CW - Abuse, Drug abuse, murder, and stalking.
I love, love, LOVED this novella.
I oftentimes find novellas wrap up too quickly like they have been rushed, but honestly, this ended so brilliantly (and honestly, I had a little hope it would end how it it). The writing was great, it was very "You" without being so much like Joe. It's not my usual genre, but I will say... it was my favorite kind of happily-ever-after that left me smirking myself. Fast paced but not rushed, entertaining but not predictable... I recommend this novella with a solid 5 stars. I cannot wait to pick up another book by Zoe Rosi!
Thank you to the author, Net Galley and Lighthouse Books for extending me the opportunity to get this read as an ARC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.
4.5 ⭐️
I really enjoyed the You by Caroline Kepnes vibes this novella gave me and I couldn't put it down.
It was such an interesting concept and plot as compared to the You series where the MC is a store owner this gave such a different dynamic and really makes you think about the people you interact with frequently but don't really give thought to.
I don't know how I feel about the ending whether I loved or loved to hate it. It was such a switch that I did and didn't anticipate. I was expecting something but not that.
There was some pacing things I didn't enjoy (a little choppy but also I understand trying to fit a lot into a novella) and a few small plot holes (where was Cara at the end?)
There was also a few cultural things that slightly took me out of the story because I had to look it up to understand. Jarvis Cocker 🤔
But overall really enjoyed this and read it in one sitting.
This book was fantastic! The writing was amazing and the story just gets better as you read it. A courier becomes worried about a woman he delivers for and he becomes obsessed with her. He’s desperate to save her from her husband that he goes to extreme lengths to save her.. his behaviour gets more and more sick and the twist at the end was brilliant. Loved it
