In this novella, a courier becomes obsessed with a woman that he sees during a delivery. Written in first person, the courier describes his thoughts and actions as he stalks her. The story is twisty, thrilling, and depraved. I enjoyed it. The ending was a nice bonus.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Lighthouse Press for an early copy of the story.

I live for crazy books. I live for book insanity.
I live for insanely intense and intensely insane reads.
And this book has it all.
I’m not one of those who can read a book “in one sitting”. Not anymore. Not since I have life happening around me. No matter how fast I’m reading, there will always be something that is going to require my urgent and undivided attention at the most random times. But books that come in novella length (this one 120 pages or so?) almost hit the spot.
At first, I thought this book was a sweet and compelling delusional spiraling of a narcissist with a textbook schizoid personality (love how I have started handing out medical diagnoses left and right!), it seemed to be the thought and reasoning train, uninterrupted stream of crazy delusions of someone who is way into new age spirituality and manifestation magical overthinking. But. No. To my great surprise and utter delight, the book kept taking new directions and turning into something new. I was secretly hoping that the book would not have a happy ending. I was secretly hoping it would take a turn in the direction it actually did. And it made my psycho book-loving heart and brain so, so happy. The ending of this little book was everything and then some more. I’m not sure I could love this book more than I do. It is perfect, this book is the epitome of the most perfect little psychological thriller novella.

Thank you to NetGalley and Lighthouse Press / Xpresso Book Tours for the ARC!

For me, this one was actually 5+ stars because I thought it was genius in multiple ways throughout the story.

Courier is about a mail carrier who delivers a package to a house on his route, essentially sees the woman who is living there, and falls in love with her. He then stalks her and manages to incorporate himself into her life.

For less than 200 pages, this story DELIVERED. I have new fears now about what I post to social media, and this just also re-enforces the reason why I don't like to answer doors for strangers. The story was fast-paced with short chapters, which kept me engaged the entire time. More towards the middle of the story I was super impressed with how the author made it feel like it was just this little meet-cute with how the guy "met" the woman. Because it's written from his POV, we get more insight to his thoughts and just how terrifying and manipulative he really is, and I was ALMOST kind of falling for it, which made it even more terrifying for me. Then...the ending. For me, an ending can make or break a book and this one BLEW MY MIND.

Overall, for me this book was absolutely perfect. Not too long, fast-paced, detailed enough to visualize everything that was happening, and the twists were insane. Additionally, all my questions I had were answered and I can't think of anything I didn't like about this story. I hope physical copies become available because this is one that I want for my collection.

4.25★

Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc of this book. I had so much fun reading it!

Thoughts:
- I saw so many people giving this a very high rating, which really scared me. What if I didn't like it? But I was very much wrong. This book was so good! It was so well written. I liked the characters, and the story was just entertaining throughout the whole book. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers, stories about stalkers, and novellas. I'd definitely read it again myself.
- The story was fast-paced with short chapters, which was enjoyable to read. (I personally prefer shorter chapters over long ones.)
- The ending? Hello? I didn't see that coming at all. I was happy with how the story was progressing, and then the ending just smacked me in the face. The twist was just too good. I loved it! It left me speechless for a few hours.
- It gave me Joe Goldberg vibes, and I was here for it. Bob was such an interesting character to follow.
- I also liked the switching between first and second POV; it made it even creepier. As I said in my first point, the whole story was very well written.

I don't really know what else to say. This was an entertaining and enjoyable read if you want something short and creepy!

Bob works as a courier after losing his shop due to other shops expanding. Nobody takes any notice of Bob, he might be a courier, but no one talks to him.

When he realises that Nathaniel, who he delivers to regularly, is abusing his wife, Natalie, we start to see another side of Bob.

My goodness, this story packs a punch! Bob is an absolute slime ball and his creepy, stalking behaviour made me feel physically sick.

This story is full of suspense and some great twists. The author sucks you into the story slowly and nothing is what you think.

As for the ending … well, you need to read the book for yourself!

My thanks to NetGalley and the author for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was definitely an interesting read! A little different too! And that ending!! Good book! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, mystery, murder, a sort of who done it, great plot twist, and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle!! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I've thoroughly enjoyed Zoe Rosi's thrillers so far, and Courier was no different, but unique in its way.
Bob is a courier who becomes infatuated with the haunted-looking face of a woman in a house where he makes deliveries. His infatuation leads him to become much more involved in her life than he should, as he begins to dream of a future and becoming her saviour. Something quite easy for a faceless delivery man who no one takes notice of.
Courier is a novella written in the first person, filled with twists and turns that keep a reader involved in the story from beginning to end. I have to say I felt quite sorry for Bob and his life, though I wouldn't recommend the route he decides to take!
A well-written story about stalking and obsession and consequences.
I will definitely be paying more attention to our couriers in the future, that's for sure!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Lighthouse Press for an ARC.

Choooweeeee! I think ole Joe Goldberg might’ve had a brother. If so, it’s definitely Bob. Bob & Joe. Same same.

This is a “what the flock” kinda read.
Creepy, stalkery, with a mix of 1st and 2nd p/pov’s, which I loved and one of those cases where ya just can’t help but root a little for dirty, diabolical Bob, haha!

Thank you to Lighthouse Press and NetGalley!

I received a free ARC, and this review is voluntary.

Taken into mind of the protagonist, we're met with obsession like a tsunami. As the story progresses, there is repetitiveness in the thoughts of the lead, but that is an element of obsession. Unfolding before us is one person's descent into a certain madness, a delusion of the mind, and the expectations formulated as a result. Speaking to a very real, very dangerous reality.

The author provided a short story that packed an uppercut.

He's just an anonymous courier delivering packages. His life isn't going the way he planned, and he is alone after unsatisfying relationships in love and with his own family.
When he sees a woman who may be an abuse victim, he becomes obsessed. Is this love? What can he do to save her?
This is a short book but I wouldn't want to give anything away. I really enjoyed the progression of the obsession and the final twist of the knife.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Courier is a novella about a man who becomes obsessed with a woman on his route. He’s been delivering packages to her house and he notices that her husband is very abusive so he goes on a hunt to try and take him down and basically get with the woman himself. The story is told in second person and it’s basically like a letter to the woman that he is obsessed with. He talks about her constantly. He even stalks her on Facebook. He watches her in the streets, so he’s very obsessed with her, and then he finally wiggles his way into her life and things to go downhill from there.

I really liked this short Novela. It’s only about 120 pages so it was very easy to get through. The pacing was very fast and kept me engaged the whole time. It was interesting to see the point of view of the crazy guy in the story. You really get a sense of how obsessed he is with this woman. It is very creepy, but it made for a good story. I liked the writing, and this was a good story. I would recommend this to people looking for something a little creepy and a little different than just every story.

Thanks so much to netgalley and lighthouse press for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to #NetGalley, Lighthouse Press and Zoe Rosi for the opportunity to read an advance copy of COURIER, to be published 30 January 2024. Wow! 5/5 Stars for this suspenseful romantic novella. I enjoyed the first-person narrative format. It was a welcome change from the norm. A man working as a courier feels he is not recognized as an individual but only as a servant of the people who is overlooked. Time and circumstances prove him wrong. I particularly liked the usage of the acronym FILTH meaning Failed in London,Trying Hastings. Great Read. #NetGalley #LighthousePress #ZoeRosi. #Courier
