Who doesn’t like ice cream? While I am new to this author and series, Love on a Whim, the third book of the Cape Cod Creamery series had all of the sweetness of this chilly summer treat. From the characters to the setting, this story creates a fictional version of the world you want to live in, with characters you come to love.
What I Loved
The setting was one of my favorite aspects of this story—like Brynn, I find the beach to be a perfect getaway, and the Creamery and baking throughout are just an added bonus. Chatham indeed sounds like an ideal place to visit and live, with a small-town feel, a walkable beach, and charming historical buildings. It also seemed like the perfect backdrop for this story of forgiveness and family.
I also greatly enjoyed the many characters that filled this story. Brynn and TD had a unique story as the main romance characters, and I liked learning more about their personalities, character, and backgrounds. The central conflict was not resolved too quickly, though I would have liked more focus on them starting to work things out. Although I predicted the reveal of TD, it was still amusing and entertaining to read.
The other characters clearly stand on their own, while providing context (and sometimes conflicting advice) to the two central characters. I loved Marnie’s constant reliance and focus on God, enjoyed Lincoln’s care and generosity to his entire family, and related to Dawn’s desire to control everything to ensure a good outcome. With the changing perspectives throughout the book, you could easily see how each character learned and grew from beginning to end.
What I Didn’t Love
I came into this series on the third book—so I understand there are established characters that long-term readers want to catch up with. At the same time, it felt as if the many storylines left little time for Brynn’s and TD’s story, which almost felt like more of a side-plot to the Creamery events and wedding planning. I would have loved to see more time dedicated to these two characters, which might have made the ending seem less abrupt and too easily resolved.
My other disappointment was in the messaging of “faith” and “following your heart,” with little emphasis on faith in God until closer to the end. The continual equation of Marnie’s faith to mystical and “hippy-dippy stuff” was also unfortunate to me, and I would have liked a stronger statement.

Disclaimer: I received this book as part of the Revell Reads program in order to write a review. The statements of the review are entirely my own, honest opinion of the book.

Love on a Whim by Suzanne Woods Fisher is a delightful story in the Cape Cod Creamery series.
Brynn Haywood makes a impulsive decision to marry a man she has only know for 24 hours. She panics and heads to Cape Cod to figure out what she has done. Her best friend Dawn Dixon, feeling she knows what is best for her friend, is determined to help her out of the mess she has made for herself. All while making preparations for the wedding of Dawn's mother Marnie's boyfriends daughter. The plans are gruesome, with the mother of the bride making constant changes. And Lincoln's son, Bear, shows up, angry and hostile towards Dawn's family.
This is the third in the Cape Cod Creamery series, but can be read as a single story. It centers on family, forgiveness and self-discovery. The story is well written and the characters are interesting and well developed. This is clean, enjoyable and faith based. If you haven't read any of Miss Fisher's other books, you definitely should.
I received a complimentary ebook copy from the publisher, through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Book Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Picking back up in Chatham, Massachusetts (eighteen months later) the Dixon/Collins/Bianco families have fully settled into their new lives and businesses. With the summer season set to kick off with the July 4th holiday weekend, The Main Street Creamery and Intuitive Cooking School have never been busier. But they are about to be put to the test when Ashleigh Hayes’ (daughter of Lincoln) caterers and baker for her wedding fall through.
Love on a Whim is the perfect blend of faith and fiction!!! The overarching theme is forgiveness. Author Suzanne Woods Fisher challenges her characters and readers to let go of the past and move forward in love.
Brynn Hayward and Bear Hayes were the perfect characters to explore the importance of forgiveness. Growing up they each were hurt by their parent’s inability to provide love and stability. Unfortunately, that hurt was carried into their adulthood preventing them from living the life the Lord intended them to have.
This book tackles:
-spontaneous marriage
-blended families
-strained father/ son relationships
-infertility
-health complications
-loss of faith
Admittedly, these are heavy subjects to tackle. Thankfully, Suzanne Woods Fisher does a phenomenal job of counter balancing them with lighter scenes. In addition, the small beach town setting provides much needed peace and tranquility.
While I am sad to see the Cape Cod Creamery Series come to an end, Love on a Whim was the best possible conclusion. It beautifully tied together all the loose ends from the various storylines (book 1 through 3).
*Each book was written as standalone stories, however, I highly recommend readers read them in chronological order. While Suzanne Woods Fisher does a great job of recapping important plot points, you won’t want to miss out on one moment of this Cape Cod experience!!!
Special thanks to Netgalley, Revell, and Suzanne Woods Fisher for allowing me to read this book in an exchange for my honest review.

Cape Cod Creamery fans rejoice! Suzanne Woods Fisher has brought the Dixon women back, along with the rest of the citizens of Chatham and a whole new storyline in which dear Brynn has lost her ever loving mind and gotten married to a stranger in Vegas. When reality hits with the break of dawn, Brynn calls her best friend and is encouraged to visit Dawn in the cozy community on the Massachusetts shore to lick her wounds and find her path. But finding her path is not as easy as it seems, especially when distractions fall into the hands of the Dixons, keeping everyone too busy to figure a way out for Brynn before things become more complicated than anyone could imagine.
Fisher has created a cozy community that, by this third book, has started to feel like home. My mind clearly sees the creamery, Intuitive Cooking School, and library as we visit each location through out the story. The strand of beach where our friends tend to walk to clear their minds, clear the air, or seek a holy moment is well known by now. Fisher has brought back familiar elements with a fresh new arc that keeps things interesting and entertaining throughout with themes of regret and reconciliation, as well as family and faith in the divine plan of the Almighty.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions expressed here are my own and are completely genuine.

I enjoyed this contemporary story by Suzanne Woods Fisher. I have read some of her historical novels before but this was the first time I have read a contemporary one by her. I liked the characters and I loved how the author described the location making me want to visit. I liked how in this story we saw people grow in faith and trust as they learned to see what was really bothering them. I liked seeing the characters grow and seeing that they weren’t perfect but were trying. I haven’t read the other books in this series but after reading this book, I will definitely pick up the other ones to read.
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

Set in the picturesque Cape Cod during the summer, "Love on a Whim" follows a woman who makes a spontaneous, life-altering decision. Seeking solace and clarity, she travels to Cape Cod to reunite with her best friend. The novel is rich with endearing characters and explores themes of friendship and family. The warmth of these relationships and the charming setting make it an ideal, easy summer read. This was my first encounter with this author, but it certainly won't be my last. Special thanks to NetGalley and Revell Publishing for providing an Advanced Reader's Copy.

When Brynn Haywood runs away in fear from her hasty marriage, she finds refuge with her old friend at Cape Cod. Will ice cream and cake make everything better? Maybe not, but the act of baking centers Brynn and the helpful women around her try to encourage her and help her find direction for her life. But that isn’t all that’s disrupting their lives, a wedding nightmare requires them all to give their all to pull it off. Plus there are even more troubles brewing among them. Can they succeed? Will their lives ever settle into somewhat normalcy? This makes for a compelling story that touches the heart and engages the mind. Whether you have read the others in this series, don’t miss this fun read. It can stand on its own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. #LoveonaWhim #NetGalley

Book 3 of the Cape Cod Creamery series, I recommend reading book 1, The Sweet Life, and book 2, The Secret to Happiness. We see the same characters and some of the story lines continue through all of them. They are good reads and you’ll be glad you took the time to read all of them.
In Love on a Whim, we meet Brynn who has turned from being a very much “in the boundaries” type person to impulsive. But has she really changed? And Bear isn’t who he seems to be either. I really liked these characters, even when they irritated me. There were reasons behind their behaviors. Add Marnie and Lincoln with a second chance romance, along with several secondary characters from the other books, and you have a great summer read. Just make sure you have plenty of ice cream.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.

Suzanne Woods Fisher's books are always one that are hard to put down. The Cape Cod Creamery series has been one of fun, laughter, tears, forgiveness and moving forward. Brynn Haywood is not known for impulsiveness. However, marrying a man 24 hours after meeting could be a first. Fleeing to her best friend Dawn in Cape Cod, Brynn must decide her next move. Things are getting crazy in Cape Cod with summer approaching and the wedding of Dawn's mother's boyfriend's, Lincoln, daughter. Lincoln's son Bear doesn't help with his condescending attitude and hostility toward Dawn and her family. Why is he so angry? Will Dawn be able to help and figure out everything? Or will this summer go down in flames? I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not expected.

This book was cute, definitely has a Christian feel but not in a preachy way (much). I liked most of the characters - Dawn really got on my nerves, and the storylines were pretty good.

What Will Bryne Decide?
I ❤️ed 📖ing Suzanne Woods Fisher's 3rd, Small Town, Christian, Family Romance, "Cape Cod Creamery" 📗, "Love on a Whim"! Many of the Characters from the previous Series Stories show up; so you'll understand the 📗 Best by 📖ing the Series in Chronological Order.
Uncharacteristically, Bryne marries Bear on a Whim; then flees to her BFF Dawn. Bryne has an opportunity to fulfill her "dream" of owning a Bakery. What does she decide to do? Does she decide to stay married? How does Jesus use these circumstances to draw Dawn & Bear to Himself?
SWF paints her Characters with exquisite emotional detail, in this intricate Story. I Highly Recommend You 📖 This Compelling & Captivating 📗! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a great tale to wrap up this series. You will learn a lot of new details about several familiar characters!

Loved reading the inspirational and engaging romance story. When Brynn on a whim marries someone she has only known less than a day, she escapes the next morning and goes to her best friend, Dawn, for comfort. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read Christian love story.

This third book in the Cape Cod Creamery series did not disappoint!!
Engineer Brynn Haywood is logical and methodical. So when she calls her best friend Dawn in panic to tell her she got married in Vegas to a guy she’d known less than 24 hours, she was in complete shock.
Brynn travels to Cape Cod to spend some time with her friend and try to figure out her next move. While there with the Dixons, family friend Lincoln’s daughter is getting married and Brynn is presented with an opportunity to bake for the wedding. It’s one of her favorite things to do—and a distraction from her troubles!
Dawn is convinced that she knows what’s best for Brynn, but Brynn can’t decide what she wants—until she finally can. And her decision takes everyone by surprise—even Brynn herself!
There’s so much more I could say about this book, but this review would get too long. I really enjoyed this third addition to the series. It was a bit predictable, but it was so much fun to read that I didn’t mind it—I wanted to see how everything would play out.
If you enjoy a sweet read with themes of reconciliation, forgiveness, and self-discovery, this is a great read! It can be read as a standalone, but the other two books are worth the read as well.
Grateful to the publisher for sending me an eARC of this book for review. All opinions are my own.

Love on a Whim is the third book in the Cape Cod Creamery series. I don’t usually like romance books, but this series has been wonderful. Maybe it’s because of the ice cream shop/bakery/cooking school or maybe it’s just that I’ve fallen in love with all the different characters in the book, but I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so much. This storyline, centered on unforgiveness and bitterness, healthy versus unhealthy relationships and the starts and stops that accompany trying to change a lifetime of habits into healthier habits was a wonderful storyline that kept me reading page after page. Everyone should have a Dawn in their lives to stand up for them and speak the truth in love to those who need to hear it. Dawn trying to take control of everyone’s life hit a little too close to home as God has been working on me in this area for several years now. Marnie, though, is probably my favorite character, along with Linc. Everyone needs a Linc in their lives as well. You can read this book as a standalone but it will be much more flavorful and satisfying if read in the series.
I was given this book as a complimentary copy but was not required to write a review.

First of all, how can you pass up reading the story behind this delicious cover art? This is a great example of how a great cover can attract readers like a magnet.
Secondly, because the author is Suzanne Woods Fisher, a bestselling author of lovely Christian contemporary fiction, I'm in from the word go.
I love the Cape Cod setting of Love on a Whim, and the main character, Brynn Haywood, is so easy to connect with. Although she is different than me in some ways, there is something deep inside that reminds me of me. That's a sign of a great creator of fictional characters. Brynn and the other townsfolk are authentic, believable, and I want them as my friends.
This is a delightful story that I didn't want to end. I look forward to reading more in this series!
#CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% mine.

Head back to Cape Cod Creamery with Suzanne Woods Fisher and all the girls. This time, Brynn, Dawn's best friend, has acted completely impulsively, something she never does. She got married after only knowing the groom for twenty four hours! Dawn is shocked. Marnie is excited. And Brynn is confused. What should she do. Add in a wedding and a catering and a whole lot of chaos and what you get is an exciting story of love and faith and hope. I loved it, as always. Fisher is one of my favorite authors for a reason. If you haven't checked out any of her books, you definitely should! Thanks NetGalley.

Wonderful conclusion to the Cape Cod Creamery series. I really enjoyed coming back to this sweet small town on Cape Cod and the characters in this series. This is Brynn and TD's story but it's also very much about Marnie, Dawn & Callie along with the men in their lives. Another great family story from Suzanne Woods Fisher... the themes of family and forgiveness abound and it brought several hours of enjoyment and some reflection to my life.
I also listened to the audio version... Stephanie Cozart did a wonderful job!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Yet another Suzanne Woods Fisher series which I am so happy to return to. And once again, it is a book I don’t want to be interrupted reading – but at the same time, I don’t want it to be over. I shall certainly enjoy re-reading it, & that is something I very rarely do – there are so many other books waiting to be read! But this author is an exception : there is always something more to learn from her writing, some quotes to take a note of. Yes – there were several things I guessed early on, but not the way they would pan out. I’m not going to give examples, as that would spoil the plot : you’ll just have to read it for yourself... I certainly recommend it! 4 1/2 stars
