What would you do if your dreams were shattered and you had to start over? Amanda Cabot wraps up her Sweetwater Crossing series beautifully with Into the Starlight, a tender story of love, loss, and rediscovery set in a quaint Texas town. Joanna Vaughn returns home devastated after her dreams of becoming a concert pianist are shattered by illness and the death of her husband. Coming back to Sweetwater Crossing, though familiar, feels strangely unfamiliar, reflecting Joanna's own inner turmoil.

Enter Dr. Burke Finley and his aunt, Della Samuels, whose arrival in town brings a blend of mystery and unexpected connections. Burke's quest to uncover family secrets leads him to Joanna, and together they embark on a journey that not only solves mysteries but also heals wounds and opens hearts.

Cabot paints Joanna's emotional journey with such authenticity that it's impossible not to feel her pain and hope alongside her. Her struggles with loss and identity are portrayed with depth, making her journey of rediscovery all the more poignant. Sweetwater Crossing comes alive through Cabot's descriptive writing skills, evoking a sense of community and history that adds layers to the narrative.

The theme of faith is seamlessly woven into the story, grounding Joanna and Burke's experiences in trust and resilience. Quotes like "But you did your best … That’s all anyone can do. The rest is in God’s hands," resonate deeply, reflecting the characters' reliance on God Almighty.

Cabot's storytelling captivates with its blend of romance and mystery, keeping readers engaged through twists and heartfelt moments. The chemistry between Joanna and Burke feels genuine and evolves beautifully throughout the novel, offering a satisfying exploration of love and personal growth.

In Into the Starlight, Cabot showcases her gift for creating narratives that shine as brightly as the stars themselves, deeply touching the soul. This book is far more than a series conclusion; it’s an inspiring tale of hope and healing that will illuminate your heart long after the final page is turned. What lasting twinkle of faith will Into the Starlight leave in your heart?

The conclusion to The Mystery of Sweetwater Crossing will answer all of the reader's questions. The mystery of what happened to Clive is quite surprising. Joanna is back from overseas after her grandmother and husband died. Her relationship with her sisters has greatly improved. Dr Burke Finkley has brought Clive's fiancee back to see the mansion and find out the truth about Clive. Readers will want to read the first two books incthe series to fully enjoy this story. Historical fiction readers will enjoy thos trilogy.

Thank you to Baker Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this wonderful story. All opinions and views expressed in my review are my own.

Joanna (Vaughn) Richter had returned from Europe with her dreams in tatters. Dr. Burke and his Almost Aunt Della have traveled to Sweetwater Crossing to visit the town where her fiancee built her a home. This home has become the home of Reverend Vaughn’s family and they are currently using it as boarding house. Della and Burke fit right in and soon become part of the family and the town. Can they all work together to figure out what happened to Della’s fiancée’ all those years ago?

This is a great wrap up of The Sweetwater Crossing series. All three books have been great. Each book had it is own mystery and the series had an over arching mystery. Some of the characters that go bad are unexpected, while others aren’t that surprising. This author really knows how to keep you reading without a lot of extra violence.

The faith content is there but it is not preachy. They all learn reliance on God and they must lean on him through good times and bad times.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting to read good clean historical romance with a touch of mystery. If lighter faith bothers you this may not be your book.

Very intriguing ending to the "Sweetwater Crossing" series. This one is about the 3rd Vaughn sister Joanna who comes back from Europe a widow. At the same time she returns to Sweetwater Crossing, Texas - the nephew of the man who left the Vaughn family the huge mansion they live in along with his honorary aunt show up in town. They try to solve the mystery of what really happened to Clive Finley.

This book has so many twists and turns to a shocking conclusion to a mystery as well as some very sweet romances. It was very well written and kept me interested in the book as a reader. If you liked the other two books in the series, you will like this one. If you haven't read the first two, go back and read them to understand this third book. This is definitely a trilogy to read in order.

Thank you to Revell Fiction for the opportunity to read and ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Into the Starlight by Amanda Cabot is the final book in the Sweetwater Crossing series, and it provided answers I wasn't expecting.

We finally get to meet Johanna Vaughn, who has been in Europe for a year, hoping to fulfill her dreams of being a concert pianist. But after her husband dies and her grandmother dies, she returns home. Sadly, for Johanna, the home she has dreamed of returning to is now filled with guest boarders, and she can't even stay in her old bedroom.

Two of the guests, Della and Burke, are on a quest to find out what happened to Clive. He built Finley House for Della intending to marry her, but then one day he disappeared. In this book, we find out what happened to him.

While this book took me a while to get into because it seemed very slow, the romances that develop in it, along with the mystery of how Clive died, make it a great finale to an awesome series. You can read this as a standalone if you haven't read the first two books.

For my honest review, I received a complimentary copy from Revell via NetGalley.

Into the Starlight is the 3rd and final installment of Amanda Cabot’s Sweetwater Crossing series that follows the Vaughn sisters. Joanna is the middle sister who has been away in Europe learning to play concert piano during the first two books. The beginning of this book finds her coming home after losing her grandmother and newlywed husband to an unexpected illness. On the same day that she arrives, Burke Finley and Miss Della Samuels comes to Sweetwater Crossing to see the house that Clive Finley had built for his sweetheart before mysteriously disappearing. This was a quick read that checked all the sweet, clean romance boxes. Amanda Cabot spins an interesting tale with a few twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. This was a satisfying ending to the series.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.

4.5 stars

Joanna’s story is very poignant. She’s dealing with a lot of loss, physical and intangible, as well as a lot of changes and she hasn’t been able to process them well. Dreams are prominent in this book. Losing them, fearing new ones, wondering if you have any left, all of which I found very relatable.

I really liked Joanna and Burke. I loved Della and how her story was woven into the main story. I didn’t see the mystery coming, nor what happened, though I did see quickly that a certain person was not as they should be.

This was a sweet series and I’m glad I read it.

Amanda Cabot brings her Sweetwater Crossing series to a close with this delightful story about Joanna Vaughn Richter. Joanna has been the missing Vaughn sister, with the exception of a brief introduction at the end of book two, Against the Wind. Now she is back at Finely House and with her sisters but her dreams of being a concert pianist have been shattered. 1883 has been a whirlwind of changes for Joanna. She married and shortly thereafter became a widow. Her Grandmother also died and Joanna herself hasn’t been well. But being at home isn’t as fulfilling as she thought it would be. She’s changed and she isn’t sure why she feels so out of place in the house that she grew up in.

Two new characters are introduced to readers in this series finale. You will remember Clive Finley who everyone thought had died in the Civil War. Well his fiancée shows up at the Finley House door with a younger version of Clive Finley. After all these years Della Samuels has come from Alabama to Sweetwater Crossing to see the house her late fiancé built for her. With her comes evidence that Clive didn’t die in the Civil War. So what happened to him and why did he disappear twenty years ago never to return? Burke Finley, Clive’s nephew and Joanna are driven to find answers about what happened to Clive in the hopes of bringing closure to Della.

This is the book that answers that question but readers will have to wait till the books ending to learn what happened to the missing Clive. I thought this book was mysterious, emotional, twisted near the end and romantic. This book was very captivating and kept me turning pages to the last chapter. I was totally drawn into the story . Amanda Cabot has kept the best book till the last in the series. What a conclusion!

I highly recommend this book to readers of historical fiction, mystery and romance. If you have read the other two books of this trilogy then you don’t want to miss this finale. I do recommend that you read the other books first as each book picks up where the other books left off. This book is scheduled for release on 7/16/24.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are entirely my own

My thoughts: Into the Starlight by Amanda Cabot is a historical romance by one of my favorite historical writers. This is the third book in the series but it easily stands alone. However, readers will want to read the first two books to get the stories of the other two sisters who play key roles in this story. There is a mystery that will keep you guessing. I never figured it out,, I would have loved to hear the heroine play the piano. If you like historical romance with the a touch of mystery you will definitely want to read ,starlight. I was given a copy free and all opinions on my own,,.

Loved reading the Inspirational Christian Romance Story. After JoAnne's dream of being a concert pianist and the death of her husband, JoAnne comes back to town, meets Burke and his Aunt Della, and feelings begin to develop between Burke and JoAnne. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story.

The Vaughn sisters! It’s always so fun to get to check in on characters (in this case sisters) from the previous books in a series.

This time we get Joanna’s story. She has been through some very hard times. She is struggling with the loss of her dream because of her health. But unexpected blessings come her way too.

Burke what a wonderful man to travel for days with his “Aunt” just so she can find answers to her questions from long ago. He is battling his own guilt and disappointments. I loved the way he always knew when something was bothering Joanna (even the smallest thing).

Some of Sweetwater Crossing resident’s long buried secrets are revealed and others found peace. What a fitting and beautiful conclusion to the Vaughn sisters and Sweetwater Crossing.

“He would do whatever he could to make Joanna laugh at least once a day.”

"Into the Starlight" is a Christian romance set in 1883 in Texas. It's the 3rd novel in a series but can work as a standalone. Frankly, while the main characters were likable, everything seemed a little melodramatic. Joanna got seriously ill with pneumonia while in Europe, destroying her ability to endure a concert pianists' schedule. She married a widower while recovering, only he and her grandmother died soon after. She returned home, pregnant and a widow, only to find everything had changed. Then bad news arrived from her husband's sister, making her insist that she must tell everyone of her shame (though she did nothing wrong and didn't need to tell anyone). This made Burke feel like he need to rescue her by marrying her. Marriage wouldn't change the past, but both acted like it fixed the problem. But he can't both marry and follow his dream, Joanna doesn't want to stand in the way of his dream, so he must decide what is more important to him.

The mysteries were pretty guessable. After we're told what happened to cause Burke to leave his medical practice, I immediately knew what had really happened and wondered why no one else suspected it. Partway through the book (and partly based on scenes from a previous book), I thought, "we'll find out that this person killed and buried Clive Finley here." However, since nearly every single woman who met Clive was insanely infatuated with him, there were some clues that had to be sorted out that pointed to other people. Burke and Joanna spent a lot of time together trying to solve the mystery. They became close friends who admired each other, which deepened into love. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable romance.

This novel is full of drama about love friendship, and family, and many many obstacle to overcome. Amanda Cabot makes me like riding a rollercoaster while I am reading her new novel, Into the Starlight.

While I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I did the first two in the series. I did enjoy reading Joanna’s story and getting the story of the final Vaughan sister. And bringing the sister’s story arc to a close.

A recent widow goes home to recover from a serious illness that has ended her dreams of a career as a concert pianist. She finds her sisters happy in their new marriages, and the new pastor and the temporary doctor in town to be very interesting additions to the small Texas community of Sweetwater Crossing.
This book is good light beach reading. Nothing remarkable or objectable here.

Into the Starlight is the first novel I have read by Amanda Cabot and I very much enjoyed it.
Although I haven’t read the first two books in this series and I do plan on reading them I didn’t have any problem connecting with the characters.

I don’t want to give any spoilers but Wow I did not see that coming!!

Thank you NetGalley and Baker Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this Arc in return for an honest review

The 3rd book of this series introduces us to the last Vaughn sister, Joanna. Returning home from Europe after a health crisis and losing her grandmother and husband, she longs for her old home, only it's not exactly the same even though nothing has fundamentally changed. On the heels of Joanna's return, two visitors show up, Della and Burke Finely, who looks like an identical twin of Clive Finely, who built the house. We soon learn Della had received a letter from the Vaughn's dad about Clive's death, but it wasn't really from him. Interspersed with initially trying to find some answers Joanna and Burke also develop a close friendship. Burke has dreams of moving to a big city as a doctor, or doing research. Joanna's dreams have been crushed and she's healing and looking for what her future will hold. This story is easy to get in to and Burke and Joanna are fun to get to know. We also see Emily, Craig, Louisa, Josh and some others from the first two books.

This was an interesting inspirational mystery novel. everyone in it had baggage, and everyone in it tried to deal with them as best they could and tried to do the right thing. Eventually figured out who the killer was, but not right away, and the reveal was interesting. May read this author again in future.
