My daughter typically likes these types of books and we own many of this series but this one fell flat for us. It was hard to follow and understand what was going on in the story and the pictures were hard to see via an e-reader. No matter which way I turned it, it was not in a viewable way that worked. A story like this, especially one where the title character is trying to hide and evade, needs the pictures to go with it and that wasn't workable for us.
Really great and colorful illustrations along with a sweet story perfect for your children. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

I adore the illustrations in all of the books in the How to Catch books and this book was no exception. The story was so sweet and cute. This will be a great bed time story to share with children.
We road tripped to Florida for spring break and I was so happy I had been approved for sixteen new children’s books coming out this year. It helped so much to break up some time with stories! The kids loved them and had so much fun picking out a book from my netgalley app to read. We didn’t read a single book we didn’t like! Tuckers favorite was Elmo’s new book, Kinley loved the fairy godmother book, Dawsyn loved the basketball one, and Briggs adored the animal book. I highly suggest adding all of these to your summer library reading lists for kids. I love children’s books, and these were full of beautiful illustrations, stories, and allowed us to have some great conversations after them. Loved the rhyming! This was so fun to read! I enjoyed the diverse characters in the beginning. This book was cute and funny, and had great artwork. Such a fun way to see a new perspective/story of a beloved character - the fairy godmother. Also loved the overall meaning of the book for a younger audience. I would recommended this to young girls who love fairytales.
We absolutely adore the how to catch series in this household. The art and prose is always so fun and engaging for littles. The Fairy Godmother was extra cute and you could tell she was having as much fun with the game of catch me if you can as the kids did. Definitely another win to add to your littles library.
This picture book is about a group of kids trying to catch a tiny Fairy Godmother who has just graduated from Fairy Godmother school. The story and illustrations are hilarious as the kids invent tricky ways to capture her. The conclusion of the book is sure to please all readers.
A cute children’s story! I love this whole series of books as well as my students in my class. Fairy godmother will not disappoint! The art is colorful and I love how it brings in everyday things kids do like taking a selfie.
My seven year old owns this entire story. This was definitely his favorite because it showed the body and face! He loved the selfie at the end!
My household LOVES the How To Catch A books. How To Catch A Fairy Godmother is no exception. They were so excited that a new book was coming and made me read it three times in a row.
The kids spot Fairy Godmother and try to trick her with concerts and selfies, but she's far too smart for that.
Alice and Andy have done a wonderful job, yet again. Beautiful illustrations and a fun short story.
Thank you Netgalley, Alice, Andy, and Sourcebooks for the advanced copy. I can't wait to add the physical copy to our home library!
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. We’re a big fan of the How to Catch books and this one does not disappoint!
How to Catch a Fairy Godmother is the newest picture book in the beloved series. The story is told through pleasing rhyming text and bright, and cheerful illustrations. Children will love the traps set by the children in the story but I did feel like there could have been more. This is a great addition to any child's personal library, a school/classroom and public library.
Thank you to Net Galley, Alice Walstead and Sourcebooks Kids for the opportunity to preview this book. The opinions shared are my own.

I love this series, and my son enjoys it's whimsy. Books like this are made for both parents and child and open up discussions and further learning on the myths and fantastical creatures of our world. You expand my mind and my sons.
This was our first How to Catch a… book and it was really fun! I loved the illustrations and the story was great too. It had a really good rhythm that was fun to read. I thought it was neat that we couldn’t see the fairy godmother from the front throughout the book until the picture at the end because it almost felt like we were part of trying to catch her too!

Thanks for trusting me with your book in exchange for a review.
This is my first experience with the How To Catch.. series and I can see why it is so popular with K-2nd(?) grade kids.
The illustrations are so eye-catching. Kids will see something new each time (so much detail!). The rhyming scheme flows really well and I see this being a heavy rotation bedtime read. The "traps" are clever and create a lot of havoc which kiddos will relish.
Overall, another great one for this series. Keep 'em comin'! Cheers!
Such a cute book like all the other “catch a” books. Love the cute pictures and the rhyming and my little loved it as well!! Highly recommend
My young son loves this series of books. He always thinks they are so funny. He loved all of the different traps the kids made to catch the fairy. The illustrations are fun and engaging with lots of little details.
Another cute “how to Catch” book!
My daughter LOVED that it was a fairy!
We read this book 3 times in a row as soon as we got it, and each time my kids noticed something new in each picture.
My 3 year old son, loved it just as much as my princess story obsessed 5 year old daughter.
Highly suggested if your kid is a fan of any of the other How to Catch books.
Thank you NetGalley for the DRC!

4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just as the other books in this series, the main character is on the run from children trying to catch them! The school kids are trying to trick and trap the fairy godmother (who just graduated from fairy school) on her first adventure in her career. There’s bubbles, glitter and a lot of fun packed into these pages. I really enjoyed the artwork and colorful depictions of each potential planned trap — this addition to the series will definitely be another hit with children.
Thank you to NetGalley and SOURCEBOOK Kids for an advanced read copy of this book.
My kindergarten daughter loves the How to Catch… series and we were so excited to be able to preview this book. The illustrations pop with bright colors and the characters faces are all very animated as in the previous How to Catch books. The book follows a fun rhyming pattern and kept my daughter engaged throughout the book.
This book would make a great addition to a K-3rd elementary classroom library. My elementary special education students will love this book as well!
