I'm really not a fan of Freida McFadden but I was hoping 'The Housemaid Is Watching' might change that.

In the third installment of the Housemaid, Freida McFadden follows Millie years after the last book. Millie has started her own family, has gotten away from her previous "job" and is enjoying life until the neighbor dies. With twists and turns throughout the story, the reader is thrown for a loop. Who killed the neighbor and will the truth come out?

As always this author doesn't disappoint. I took me a minute to recall the details from the housemaid but the pieces fell in to place. Just when you think you know where the story is headed be ready for a twist or turn. If you are already a Freida McFadden fan you won't be disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed THE HOUSEMAID IS WATCHING. I wasn't a huge fan of the second book in the series, but this third in the series had me guessing until close to the end.

I received an advanced copy of the third book in Freida McFadden’s Housemaid series, which will be published on June 11th. This book continues Millie’s story later in life once she’s married to Enzo with two kids. She has recently moved to Long Island and has tried very hard to leave her past behind. But of course, secrets and drama continue to follow her everywhere she goes, including into her dream home in a picturesque cul-de-sac.

I hate to say it but I didn’t love this one. Freida’s straightforward and no frills writing style is a little jarring at first compared to other books I have read recently, but I found my rhythm in it and got through the short chapters quickly. I’ve read a lot of her books and the twists in this one didn’t surprise me as much. I also felt like some of the questions I had weren’t resolved even though they were pretty major plot points. Just lots of things that made me go hmmm 🤔. Definitely curious to hear other’s thoughts on this book once it comes out!

This was such a great story! It very well by my favorite of the series. It kept me guessing all the way!

I began this third in the series without having read the first two. Although the Housemaid series could almost be read as stand alones, they are much better read in order. I found myself really becoming fond of Millie, even though there were a few times I didn't especially like her. McFadden does a good job of creating a sympathetic, yet imperfect character. The chapters are short, making this an easy, pleasant read because it gives you built in stopping points if you are obsessive like I am to finish a chapter. The series is a great read for when you just want to relax and enjoy the process. The plots and characters are interesting enough to keep you reading. I have now finished the series and am hoping for a book four!

This is the most excited I’ve ever been for a book ! Without any spoilers, it was great to see some questions answered . Milly, everyone’s favorite housemaid , returns for book 3 in this gripping series. You won’t be able to put it down ! As Milly and her family settle into their new home, things feel off and she will go to any length to protect her family and leave her dark secrets behind. Advice to be careful puts her on edge . How well do we really ever know our neighbors ? Milly has come this far and NOTHING is going to ruin that now. No matter what she has to do.

Not necessarily, but oh what fun it is to see what they are up to now! This one was easy for me to figure out right down to the last detail. Sadly, it lacked any of those shocking twists that have you gasping audibly. If you are a fan of Freida's, you know you're going to read it. You can get your hands on a copy June 11. Frieda McFadden is quickly becoming one of my favorite thriller writers! A family moves to Long Island, both parents with shady pasts when it comes to crime. The neighbors are a bit odd, and the ones next door seem to be the oddest. Things between Millie's (our main character) husband and the wife next door are suspicious but what actually happens is surprising, with twists at every turn.

I've just discovered this author and I am really enjoying her books. This is the third in this series and is good, but not as good as the first two. Those left me on the edge of my seat. This was easy to read and fun, just not as gripping. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Housemaid Is Watching is an engaging page turner to find out where the twist and surprises will be. This book will not disappoint readers of the other two Housemaid books.

McFadden does a fabulous job of keeping this series fresh. Twists and unbelievable turns make this a great read. Even after reading all of her other books, she surprised me in the end. 5 stars!!

The final book in the Housemaid series is not to be missed! We meet Millie again when she is in her forties and has children of her own. After moving into a home on Long Island, Millie thinks her dreams have come true: great school district, home of her own, big backyard. But there’s something sinister lurking beneath the surface. With plenty of McFadden’s trademark twists, the plot thickens and no one in the neighborhood is safe from suspicion.

The first thing I loved about this book was the author's sense of humor. Naturally, I love it when Freida uses alliteration in her stories as well. I thought it was also interesting to see our beloved Millie in a new stage in her life where she has kids! I did not expect however, the kids to be so involved in the story. Not at first at least. About halfway through the book, I was able to guess who the true suspect was. This is a first for me since I've never been able to guess who the real suspect was in her other books! It seems like most of the action in the book took place at 70-75% which is not common for most other Freida books. The evil neighbor twist reminded me of Nina… if you know you know. Seeing how Millie has grown was a treat, but not exactly what I expected going into this book. I think there was one mention of turtles in this book and of course that made me giggle.... After getting into the book a bit more, I really, really started to dislike Enzo. The way he kept lying and not being properly confronted was a *major* turnoff for me. There were a couple of other weird little incidents like Martha vacuuming at 6 am for example, and not finding out if Enzo liked the meal until…a couple of chapters or so later. It seemed like there were so many little things that just simply did not add up. I hated how secretive Enzo was being with Suzette and it seemed really, really, way too suspicious for there to not be anything going on. Enzo is, I think a character that might be just as beloved as Millie, but to see him portrayed this way legitimately angered me. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so mad at a Freida book except for when dealing with Nina - before we knew … everything. Which I think is much more understandable than Enzo's behavior here. There just seemed like a lot of things going on with Enzo that did not add up or make sense. After reading so many of her books, I was able to predict who the true suspect was based on those many clues! There was just too much happening that I could not help but notice and put two and two together. Even after being annoyed at some characters, and being able to predict their actions, it was still interesting to find out why they did what they did and how. One major hole in the story for me was Enzo confessing on a phone that was in the police department. How on earth would this be possible if police/jail phone calls are always recorded? I mean, I've never heard of these calls not being recorded? Maybe its just me.. That was something that really threw me off. But - overall I enjoyed reading this book as the last of the Housemaid series by Freida and the ending was k i l l e r down to the last sentence! Overall, 4 stars. Love all of Freida’s books so much! I am very grateful for my ARC from Netgalley. I am a huge McFan and can't wait to read more!

Freida Mcfadden DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down! I have been waiting for this one to come out and it definitely did not disappoint with the twist and turns let left me with a total WOW, I never saw that coming!! This book sucked me in from the beginning because my family and I just moved into a new neighborhood and our neighbors are nosy like the characters in this book, but not to this extreme, so the phrase, "Be careful of your neighbors" is constantly in the back of my mind. I really tried to go slow and savor read this one, but I failed and devoured it like the rest of her novels. I just couldn’t get enough. She is the true definition of unputdownable. Just when you think it’s all unfolded, she throws trust after twist at you. Another classic!

While I typically would never suggest reading a series out of order, this novel is readable,even if you have not read the first two installments; as I have not.
This third installment finds Millie,Enzo and thier kids move into a new home. Every new home involves meeting the new neighbors. Their new neighbors are not very neighborly but Millie tries to put on a happy face and chalk up any awkwardness to her insecurity about feeling out of place in a new,nicer neighborhood. Millie learns quickly that it is not her,the new neighbors are weird. Janice and her son Spencer, who live directly across the street from Millie, spend ALL of thier time together. Janice is hyper paranoid about allowing Spencer out of her sight and even attatches the boy to her with a leash. Janice is also the neighborhood snoop!
The neighbors directly next to them ,Suzette and Johnathon, brag about thier finances and Suzette is overtly flirtacious with Enzo. Her flirty behavior is not only gross but makes Millie jeaslous and paranoid.
I found this to be an easy read,not complicated to keep up with the storyline at all.
I like Millie a lot as a charachter and had fun getting to know how her mind works. Enzo is a good person ;true and loyal. Their children, Ada and Nico, are the best brother and sister team! Their close knit family is a true asset when a neighbor is found murdered.
McFAdden is good about tossing in a few red herrings to keep you guessing about who the "good guys" and "bad guys" are throughout the story.
There are a few holes in the story but the epilouge ties things up nicely.
Readers of this series who enjoyed the first two installments are bound to enjoy "the housemaid is watching".

The Housemaid is Watching is the third installment of The Housemaid series. Although I had not read the first two books, I did not feel lost while reading this one. The book references the previous installments, making it easier to follow the story. The short chapters made the story feel fast-paced but leaned more towards a mystery genre than a thriller. The pacing was slow initially, but it picked up later. The plot twists were shocking, and I had no idea where the story was going. However, the ending wrapped up too perfectly, leaving me with more questions than answers, especially regarding the Lowell family and their past. Overall, the book was a good read, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys mystery novels.

This third installment of the Housemaid series is quite different from the first two. Eleven years have passed since the end of book two and the main character are in a very different place. The writing again is fast paced, and there are plenty twist and turns in this page-turner. Definitely worth reading.
