I found this to be a cute read! In the book, we follow Florrie Appleton. Everything around her life revolves around flowers! Her beloved Aunt Ada passes, she is then issued an eviction notice and was told to vacate Rose Cottage. She also has to shut down her Vintage Flower Van business and leave behind her Aunt Ada’s gorgeous gardens. Florrie is heartbroken! Florrie and her friends are not going down without a fight. She will not give up, even if the developer she’s taking on is run by Tom Houston, the man who broke her heart at uni. Some might see that Tom has the upper hand. However, Florrie has all of Heartcross behind her! I would recommend if you like flowers, friendships, and small town fiction! Thank you to One More Chapter and Christie Barlow for the ARC of The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane. Cannot wait for her next book! 🥰💐🥰
Aw What a finale.
I'm annoyed with myself because I've definitely missed a few books out before reading this - but Christie writes these so well you don't necessarily need to have read in order for them to continue to make sense. I really loved Florrie's journey and hearing about this little corner of love heart lane.
I love that Christie gives all the feels in her work, you really find yourself loving the characters.
The only reason a star is missing is because I felt you didn't truly get to know Tom and he just suddenly decides to stay in heartcross, and I would have LOVED to have seen his father's downfall, but that bit was entirely cut out from the book. Florrie and Tom had Insta love after half a conversation too so that was a surprise after the build up - but I am glad they ended up together.
I do love this series though and it's an easy recommendation.
I love this series and never get tired of revisiting it. The stories are so sweet and all different which adds to the charm. A sad beginning but, a joyful ending. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
This is #14 in the Love Heart Lane series but could be read as a standalone. Once you visit Heartcross you never want to leave but
unfortunately all good things come to an end but this seems like a fitting end.
A lovely read.
I really enjoyed this book, I loved the way that the story came back from circle for the main character. It was such a heartwarming story, with love, baddies and leaving you rooting for a happy ending. It covered loss too. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
3.25⭐️
This is part of the Love Heart Lane series, it is #14 in that series, I have not read any of the previous books and while it is not necessary to read them in order to read this one it did feel a little hard to initially get into because I didn’t know this town or these people yet.
First thing I will say is that I loved this cover, it’s what initially drew me into the book, and taking a look at the series they are all gorgeous covers. Along with a Scottish setting (My family’s part Scottish) I was really intrigued to read this.
I was honestly a little disappointed with how little of a Scottish setting this book gave. If it didn’t say Scottish setting then I probably would have never known from reading it. Now saying that it did get some very nice small town community vibes in this. I enjoyed also the aspect of treasuring God’s beautiful creation, over greed.
There is a bit of a mystery component strung through this story, that kept me very intrigued throughout it. I enjoyed that aspect. I’m not sure what this is categorized as but it reads like a literary fiction, with maybe a side/ secondary romance plot line.
The romance to me was a bit flat. These characters didn’t have a lot of past or chemistry to go off on. I did enjoy some of their encounters and what I saw of them in present day, they had some really sweet moments, but it just seemed a bit far fetched the way they barely knew each other before this one 2 week encounter 8 years ago.
*This is closer door, the scenes end before anything happens, nothing real heated, sex is just implied.
*Also two lesbian characters briefly mentioned in this.
All in all this was a decent book, a bit slow to get into but I did enjoy it well enough.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read & review this arc!

A very sweet but ok, lots of romance, friendship and flowers. I’ve read a couple in the series and this one based on the story of Tom and Florrie but interwoven with past characters was lovely and charming too.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this quote from the book because if everyone followed this rule then the world just might be a better place.
Friends are the most important people in your life and you should treat them as you want to be treated; if you do, those friends will be there for you no matter what. Looking after each other is a must. And my final bit of advice is something your great-aunt Ada swore by – have a glass of port every night before you go to bed. I’ve also found that a glass of champagne every day has done me no harm.’
Wow! That's some awesome advice don't ya think?
I really enjoyed this one to the fullest. This book makes me want to jump into the community and stay there.
Aunt Dorothy is my favorite character. She's charming and fun. I love it when her wisdom comes through just when you need it most!
As always I finished this book in one evening. The characters wouldn't let me put their story down.
I just love books like this that keep my attention all the way through.
5 stars for a well written story. I highly recommend!
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
When Florrie’s much loved Aunt Ada dies she is determined to keep her Aunts Flower Shop van open and to live in the cottage her Aunt had lived in for most of her life. She is horrified to receive a letter from a property developers company telling her they own the cottage and flower shop van and plan to tear down the cottage for future development.
When Tom an old flame from university turns up and is involved with the property company Florrie is incensed particularly as after spending a wonderful fortnight with Tom and then finding he was getting engaged to someone else she cut off all means of communication.
Tom is bemused by her attitude, and this is because they just don’t talk about what happened mainly because Florrie won’t. And herein lies the problem I had with this book this went on for far too long and ended up being irritating for me. I appreciate it was to add to this tale which had deceitful illegal practices with a real villain in the background.
No great dramas but it was a pleasant enough read.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.
This is the 14th book in the Love Heart lane series from Christie Barlow.
I have read them all and as always Christie keeps you wanting more.
Florrie runs the flower barn in the scottish town of Heatrcross she lives and breaths flowers all thanks to her great aunt Ada.
Sadley she has just passed away and florrie is hoping to keep her memory alive by moving into rose cottage and kepping her great aunts buisness of the fower van alive, Only to be given an aviction letter just as she is about to bury her.
Heartcross pull together as always to help Florrie out and hopefully keep her great aunts home and buisness alive.
Thoughly enjoyed this book as much as the rest hope theres more to come from Heartcross .
The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane is a lovely bookend to the series that tugs fiercely at the heartstrings and, as with all the others before, I absolutely loved its charm, friendship, family and community spirit! Heartcross (an imaginary Scottish highland village) is a place that captures everyone who visits it and makes them want to stay!
This story centres around Florrie Appleton, who loses her beloved Aunt Ada and discovers she is going to be evicted by W. Houston Property Developers from Rose Cottage. Here her aunt lived and ran a booming flower business from the Vintage Flower Van. All this is about to change though if this company gets its way. Sadly, she could lose her Aunt’s legacy and dwelling. The cottage is to be demolished and the land turned into a number of new residents. Meaning all traces from the past will be erased: the flower gardens gone. Of course, Florrie is devastated. The town is horrified, too, when they hear the news. But, they rally around to offer their support as they have in the past when the community is threatened. This time it is to fight the developer. Florrie also launches a huge media campaign. She starts with social media sites and then expands into newspapers and television, rousing even more support for her cause.
But in the midst of these troubles an old flame turns up, she has not seen in eight years, and her reaction is one of confusion and anger. This man Tom broke her heart after spending two wonderful weeks with her. So why is he back? She soon finds out he is connected to the Property Developers but not in the way she expects. There’s lot of tension between them and old wounds resurface. Communication is a challenge as she attempts to retrieve reasons why they parted on good terms only to be abandoned—not to mention his connection to the Rose Cottage fiasco. But there is a plan being hatched behind closed doors that will stun everyone and Florrie’s questions will all be answered-- romantically and property wise. If the mysteries are solved, will there be a fresh start for this couple from the past? Not without a lot of digging and some fierce battles!
There is nothing quite like Heartcross and the spell this Scottish community has on the characters who visit it in the stories and for those of us who have indulged in the numerous books set in this darling village! There are many wonderful characters in The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane including Martha and Dolores who play excellent parts in the drama and solutions. Christie delivers another fabulous ending full of hope and fresh beginnings. When I turned the last page, I sighed with contentment as it left me happy, enlightened and uplifted. Yes, there are some bad things that happen but everything works out. Leaving us with a fantastic and delightful resolution that made my spirit soar.
Without question, I adored this novel and appreciate the warm characters who led me through their troubles but who found reasonable solutions and experienced noticeable growth in the process. The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane is memorable, mesmerising and magical. I highly recommend this and the whole series! 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks to One More Chapter and Netgalley for the ARC.
This story adds another romance to love heart lane. I have found you can read these as standalones as this book is not connected to the previous one. This was a bit of a legal drama. Florrie is set to take over the flower van and Rose cottage upon her great aunt’s passing. However, she receives an eviction notice from the property company. To combat eviction and carry on her aunt’s legacy, she turns to social
Media to share the stories of the van, making her a viral sensation. To further complicate matters, a past love shows up in town and is connected to the property company.
There’s quite a bit of legal talk and some twists in here, but it an easy read.
Thank you HarperCollinsUK/ One More Chapter for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Another heartwarming visit to the enchanting village of Heartscross. The focus is Florrie the florist and the loss of her aunt, home and potentially her business. As usual the community rallies around to help but through the use of social media a much bigger group also swing into action to help save the flower van and gardens. Add in an ex boyfriend and you have all the ingredients of an intriguing tale.
I have loved every one of the Love Heart Lane series and had no idea until I reached the epilogue that this is the final one. I will be like losing a whole community of friends who I will miss very much. They say you can never leave Heartscross but sadly it now looks as though we must.
Like all good things they must come to an end although I really didn’t want this series to end but this instalment was a fitting conclusion to what has been an amazing collection of books over the last few years. I read this in almost one sitting despite desperately trying to savour it as knew it was the last one.
It was fabulous to visit the village of heartcross for again this time being immersed in the story of Florrie the villages local florist and also delving into the character of Tom. It also took us into the lives of the other residents of heartcross for one last time and a final farewell to them.
As always a beautiful heartwarming and uplifting read these books are like receiving a warm hug and feel like you are coming home to your favourite place after a long day.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the is series and cannot wait to see what this author writes next.
This was such a feel good book. It was cozy and sweet and fun and heartwarming and absolutely what I needed to read right now.

Communities coming together for the common good, lifelong best friends, karma and a 2nd chance at happiness.
I truly loved every minute of this book and the town of Heartcross.
A book about friendship and romance and a real feel good book. Perfect for reading with a glass of wine or a cup of hot chocolate. Perfection.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.
Was so excited to read this book. I love Christie Barlow books. This one is so well written.
The setting is gorgeous and the characters are all engaging and beautifully developed.
I enjoyed the storyline. The familyband community all come together to save the flower shop. It is such a peaceful and calming book. It is a perfect getaway book. I enjoyed escaping into the pages.
Recomnend.
I was itching to start reading this book as soon as it was downloaded, but had to control the urge and finish the book I was mid way through. As soon as I started the first paragraph, I was immersed back into the world of the Scottish village of Heartcross and their residents.
Florist, Florries life is in a spin, Aunt Ada has passed away. At the funeral service, the face of Tom, her teenage crush turns up and then she finds out what she thought was being left to her isn't!
Florrie has to call upon the community of Heartcross to help save "Rose Cottage Gardens" from being developed into new homes, she also has to fight to save the Vintage Flower Van too, which results in some surprising collaborations, and Toms face just keeps popping up!
I have totally enjoyed all the Love Hear Lane books and this one is no exception, it gets a big thumbs up from me.
The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane is available to pre-order on Amazon, with a release date of 23rd May 2024.
