Florrie's aunt Ida passes away and she is told to vacate Rose cottage and to close down her vintage flower van., but Florrie fights to save her home and business. she get the whole town behind her. very sweet story.
DO NOT START THIS UNTIL YOU CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!!!!… I absolutely LOVED… Perfect read to lift your spirits and keep you hooked… Will keep you up late at night
This was a very sweet book. It is joyously filled with flowers, and plants and bunches of glorious colours which form the heart of the story. Florrie opens the book at a funeral singing beautifully which leads on to the will reading and things all going wrong. Her original love interest appears back on the scene and there is something very underhand that runs under the romance, with a lack of trust explored. Florrie is cute and endearing, although the original bust up with Tom seems a little bit too much to kick off the story, and she doesn’t appear in the best light with a distinct lack of listening skills! It is definitely a happy book, with everything getting sorted out for the best, the baddies getting into trouble and love blossoming.
A lovely sweet romance - lovers to enemies to lovers. I have enjoyed all the previous books in this series and this seems to be the last one which is a pity. An excellent book with characters that almost seem like friends as the series has progressed.
A sweet final story in Heartcross in the highlands. I enjoyed this final story which in addition to the story of Florrie and Tom, wraps up the lives of the other residents. Despite that, it reads fine alone.
Another fab read in the Love Heart Lane series, where the main focus is Florrie and the loss of her great aunt.
This a joyful read and I am absolutely devastated this is the last in the series I feel like I have lost a bunch of friends.
I have enjoyed and loved every single book and really think this would make a wonderful series.
The ending was just perfect I had tears rolling, happy tears, sad tears.
Heartcross always sounds wonderful with a great community, a place I would certainly love to visit if it was real
On the bright side I see a new series on Puffin Island which I cannot wait to dive into.
I am so sorry this is the last in this series, have loved them all. It was also nice to see characters from previous books. Florrie who is a florist was devastated when her aunt died but then then she had challenges of her will. Heartcross draws you in and you just want to live there. I felt sorry for Tom when he didn’t really know what was going on. Florrie put up a good fight to keep her cottage and van. Just another feel good book and always love a happy ending.
Thanks Netgalley and the Publishers. I really enjoyed this warm hearted story, loved the characters in the book, the location and most of all the storyline. Would recommend.
Where friends are there for you no matter what. Because once you arrive in Heartcross, you never want to leave...
A very special series to me, and I am sad that this is the last one in that series.
I've loved each and every one, and I feel like I know the characters so well.
Thank you Christie Barlow, you are a superstar!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the early copy.
The Vintage Flower Van on Love Heart Lane
by Christie Barlow
An extremely well written story as any reader of the Love Heart Lane would come to expect.
A book fool of quirky characters good and not so good. Things are not always as they first appear. We follow the journey of Florrie as she is coping with death of her beloved great aunt Ada and the immediate eviction notice to vacate Rose Cottage Ada’s home and Florries when lived there in her youth and return the vintage flower van. Florrie and her friends are not prepared to go without a fight! Follow the journey to save Rose Cottage and Vintage flower van as they use all avenues at the disposal in the fight against the developers . Great read my only disappointment personally is the the epilogue made it all seem so final. Here’s hoping that there is still room for another peek in to the village of Heartcross in the future as for me it will be sorely missed new characters and old.
If you want to read a series of books with a warm feel good factor , this is definitely the one. As with all of the other books, I read this non stop with a smile on my face. The little village in Scotland is somewhere I would love to live, having such a wonderful caring and thoughtful community. Wholeheartedly recommended.
This is the latest in the Loveheart Lane series and as always it’s a pleasure to revisit the village of Heartcross. There were lots of familiar characters and references to past books but you could also read this as a stand alone story. It centres around Florrie who has just inherited a vintage flower van from her beloved aunt. However events from the past are threatening the future of the vintage flower van so Florrie and the residents of Heartcross hatch a plan to save it. There is also the added complication of the reappearance of Tom from Florries university days. What is his connection to the threat to the vintage flower van? This book has really likeable characters and you find yourself rooting for a happy ending to the story.
Book 14 of Love Heart Lane series and in my opinion, absolutely one of the best series ever. Each book can be read as a standalone but I heartily recommend reading the others because they are a pure joy to read. Like previous books, we get to catch up with some of the residents which is delightful but this book focuses on the story of Florrie Appleton and her fight try and protect her home and busness, left to her by her late aunt, from property developers. The two things you need to know about Love Heart Lane..once you visit you never want to leave and friends are there for you no matter what, and that is absolutely true of this story. I raced through this book as I just couldn't put it down. Thank you so much to netgalley, publishers and most of all Christie Barlow for an advanced copy of the book for an honest review.
A great end to the series with a campaign to fight and win just as there was in book one. Florrie's story is heartwarming, packed with friendship and flowers, and I was willing her to win back, not only the home and van but also the man she so obviously loved. I will miss Love Heart Lane and its many familiar characters but look forward to Christie's next venture with huge anticipation.
Stunning and a fitting end to this beautiful series. I was a late finder to this series so I've got to go back to read the other books in the series but this one with Florrie and Tom is one full of twists and turns. I don't want to ruin the final book in the series but Florrie journey is an amazing one; boy does that girl have a fire in her belly. Chrisitie has written a fitting final ending to this well loved series, and I for one wanted Florrie to have her happy ever after to keep The Vintage Flower Van and Rose Cottage, There is a twist in the story that you just don't see coming and I didn't want it to end.
This was a really wonderful read. Although starting a little sadly it certainly was a lovely story of love, friendship and romance. It was great to be back at Love Heart Lane and catch up with the characters again. Florrie was a wonderful character who loved being a florist and loved her aunt Ada's Rose cottage and the beautiful garden her aunt spent years creating. Once again the people of Heartcross came together to help each other.
Another lovely lighthearted read from Christie set in her uniquely Scottish village. Charming characters pull together showing the strength of true relationships pulling together to oust the bad people. A love story that came adrift purely from misunderstandings is mended and culminates in a happy ending.
A relaxing, easy going read, with a cheery story line. What’s not to like especially when Tom and Florrie overcome the hurdles created up by Tom’s father Edward. My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, HarperCollins One More Chapterfor this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is the perfect end to the perfect series - my favourite genre of writing done so very well. The characters are old friends that you enjoy hearing about and the setting is dreamy - just great fiction.
You know what? I'm really going to miss these guys. One of the key lines from the series is that once you visit Heartcross you won't want to leave, and that is equally true of these books. With the Love Heart Lane series, Christie Barlow has created a set of stories, and developed a cast of characters who can make you smile, laugh, occasionally swear at your screen in disbelief, usually a totally avoidable case of miscommunication which leaves our many star crossed lovers, less in love and rather cross, and, more than occasionally, cry. They are a wonderful bunch and this is a heartwarming and beautiful series that I'm not sure any of us are ready to say goodbye to.
In The Vintage Flower Van, we get to know local florist and owner of Buttercup Barn, Florrie just that little bit better. It's a sad day that we head back to the village, the funeral of Florrie's Great Aunt Ada, a woman whose presence and eponymous Vintage Flower Van are almost as much a part of the village as the bridge that drew us all to Heartcross in the first place. A shock discovery just after the funeral puts Florrie in a bit of a tizz, and sets the residents of Heartcross into action to do what they all do best - join forces to fight a clear injustice as Florrie is threatened with the loss of not only her Aunt's cottage, but the Vintage Flower Van too. Now, if you know anything about this series at all, you will know their task is not going to be straightforward fight and, along the way, we are going to discover a lot of surprises about Great Aunt Ada and the history of the village, all of which is going to lead Florrie back to her former flame and lost love, Tom.
Now, I say lost love, but that is probably understating it a touch. Tom broke Florrie's heart although it's fair to say that the feeling is very much mutual. Now just what happened and why Christie Barlow feeds to us very slowly and very carefully, and it was absolutely delightful reading through the many mishaps and miscommunications that befall the two over the course of the book. The pair are at loggerheads for most of the book, but would we have it any other way. Florrie is determined and perhaps a little too single minded, but Tom can be just as stubborn. but I loved the pair of them, loved the humour, loved the conflict and the knowing that somehow Christie Barlow was going to make things right by the end of the book.
Alongside the dreamy and picturesque setting in which the author always makes me long to revisit the Highlands after every read, it is the characters who really make these book and we get to spend time with a good number of them over the course of the book. Florrie and Tom really do take centre stage, of course, but we get a good helping of Martha, and one of my favourite characters from previous books, Dolores too. Every single one of Heartcross's residents brins something very special to our reading journey and I have loved spending time with them. It makes a lovely distraction from the trials of modern life and. although we know that the books will almost certainly end with a HEA, there is plenty to enjoy along the way.
This series, this book especially, explores themes of friendships, family and loss, with a very relevant message underneath. Whatever the topic, everything is always dealt with in a kind and empathetic way, and even the most sorrowful of stories leaves us with a sense of hope and positivity that just radiates from the books, as does the author's love for her village and her characters. So if you are looking for a heartwarming read that will make you laugh and cry and probably serve up every emotion in between, this series is heartily recommended. And let's not forget that ending. A perfect way to say goodbye to the characters we have come to love so much. Yes, there is a touch of sadness to it, and not just because we are saying one final goodbye. But there is also a feeling of hope and new beginnings. I'll always remember Heartcross and the people we've all met through the course of the fourteen books. And, afterall, we can always do a re-read, right?
What a fabulous read, cosy and warm yet with adventure and adversity. You can’t beat Christie for a heart warming read. I enjoyed this so much. The setting sounds divine and the characters are engaging and believable. I polished this off in a couple of hours. I would well recommend.
