Cluelessly Yours is the third book in the It’s a Funny Story series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Sammy was a single mom readjusting to life after divorce. She was living with her sister, Brooke, who tried to set her up with a doctor. But Sammy had also met someone else, and she ended up in a love triangle.
I’m not normally a fan of love triangles, but I enjoyed this one. It had a great storyline, and it was full of funny and emotional moments.
Audiobook notes:
Narrated by: Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York
Narration Style: Dual
The narrators did a great job bringing the story to life.
I absolutely fell in love with Noah and Sammy. I've had the pleasure of listening to one other audiobook in this series thanks to NetGalley and I also loved that book. Max Monroe is able to build a beautiful world, family, and romance within the pages of their books.
I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.
Single mom Sammy Baker dreams of finding love again and may finally have the chance, but whom will she choose – the successful businessman or the handsome doctor? And what will happen when she wakes from a coma to see a pregnant woman claiming to be the wife of the man Sammy loves?
I feel like the authors had the scenario where Sammy wakes up from her coma in mind, then tried to shoehorn a story around it. It was an implausible scenario based around lack of communicatiton.
Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an audio ARC of this book.
I genuinely tried to get into this book in audio and e-book form, and I couldn't seem to make it through the whole book. I don't know why I was uninterested in it. The synopsis of the book is what made me want to read to this book, it was amazing and caught my attention. It may have been the pacing in this book. The beginning was the most difficult part to get through and then I honestly became uninterested.
This does not happen to me a lot I am the type to power through and maybe this just wasn't my book. I really hope a lot more readers enjoyed this book and loved every second of it.
I do appreciate the opportunity I got to read and listen to this book. And there is no wrong doing of the narrators they were amazing, I enjoyed the way they portrayed the characters.
The book is well written and it does make me wish i had read the previous one first. Overall i had a hard time connecting with the FMC and am not a fan with love triangles in general.

4.5⭐️ 3.5🌶️
If I am ever in need of snort level laughing, Max Monroe freaking delivers. Cluelessly Yours was not the storyline I was expecting but it did not disappoint and gave me so many laughs (because OMG they are ridiculously hilarious) plus feels, spice and twists.
The twists and turns had constantly wondering what was going to happen next from literally chapter one.
Sammy (the sister of Brooke from Accidental Attachment) is a single mom to two boys that is now living in NYC. For anyone who has frequented NYC, it is not a joke when you hear that the cabs will 100% run you over… as Sammy can tell you… after she woke up from a coma… next to the man, Noah the pediatric anesthesiologist she is in love with. Oh and did I mention sitting next to said man is a pregnant women who says he is her bf 🤯🤯
Buckle up for this hilarious, crazy and spicy ride of Noah and Sammy and her two crazy boys. Noah will melt your ovaries and Sammy is so relatable to all us moms out there.
I devoured this audio book and loved the narration.

Didn’t love this one. Felt super one-note and cliche. Honestly, I almost gave up after the cringey author’s note at the beginning. I don’t mind romance and rom coms but this one was very rushed and the characters seemingly didn’t have any real connection. Also, the (very long) epilogue was pretty much an ending for side characters instead of the main characters? Kind of bizarre.
Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe is a delightful and heartwarming rom-com that follows the journey of Sammy Baker, a divorced, single mom trying to navigate her way through life. With two boys and an absent ex-husband, Sammy has the world on her shoulders and Legos under her feet.
Despite the chaos, Sammy dreams of finding love again, though she never expected to find herself caught between two men.
This book is the third instalment in the "It's a Funny Story" series, but it stands alone perfectly. Even though I hadn't read the first two books, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and now plan to read the entire series. It's a fun and engaging story that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a light-hearted romance with a relatable, older main female character.
Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise's narration was excellent. They brought the characters and their emotions to life in a very enjoyable way.
Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for gifting me the audio-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
4.5🌟
This was such a good story! As a 41 year old single mom, this book really hit home. There was so much real life that happened in this story, and it made me feel so seen and not alone.
It was chaotic, and fun, and full of emotions, tough moments, awkward moments and moments of love and happiness. There were laughs, and tears and hope.
This book was such an incredible story, if you’re a single mom who feels like her life is absolute chaos, this book is for you.
Thank you for making me feel seen. 🥹🥹
This is the third book of the series, It's a Funny Story. I missed the first book and started with book 2 and listened as an audiobook and absolutely loved it, so I jumped at the chance to listen to this when it was up for review. I can tell you I was not disappointed! The only drawback for me was not having read or listened to Brooke's story, but I plan to rectify that soon.
As for this, the story focuses on Sammy, Brooke's sister, and her path to love. Sammy's got her hands full being a single mom with two adorable, but rambunctious boys. She doesn't have the time for romance right now. But when two opportunities present themselves, in the form of a successful doctor Noah and a slick businessman Gavin, she decides to explore the possibilities. Between the two, one is obviously the better choice, but Sammy needs to decide that on her own, and once she knows all the facts, she definitely makes the right choice. Sammy and her chosen hero were perfect as a couple and I loved seeing them together. The story was told from both POVs and the narrators did a really nice job of bringing the characters and all their emotions to life. This author has definitely made my favorites list and I can't wait to read more!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
A wonderful new age romance story! The writing was incredible and compelling, with characters that felt familiar and immensely alive! The narration was amazing!
So: I enjoyed it.
This was a treat, just like the previous books in the series were and pretty much everything Max Monroe writes is. Addictive as all get out, once I had it going I couldn’t stop. Excellent narration for the audiobook also definitely helped with that.
I will say though, while I really enjoyed the story overall. I can’t rate it quite as highly as the others. Basically this boils down to two things. One- it was a little predictable, not everything but enough that it lead to… Two- there was some major slump in the middle of the book, for awhile it felt both like nothing was moving but you could tell where it was going and the plot just needed to catch up and get there.
So still, I had fun with this, definitely worth the read!
OMG! This book was great! I listened to an ALC and absolutely loved the dual narration. It was done so well, the characters easy to identify and never losing track of what was going on, despite the insanely long amount of time it took me to read (completely at fault of my own due to losing my headphones and having children). And as for the story, it was equally as good. My only complaint was the way the plot jumped around a little bit. It's a personal preference, and I'm just picky. But I loved the characters, loved the story and looked forward to finally getting a chance to listen. I will absolutely be looking into more of Max Monroe's writing. I absolutely recommend this book for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance with some well done spice.
This was my first time reading anything by Max Monroe, and the 3rd book in the It's a funny story series. You can totally read these out of order, but I'd suggest to read in order of possible.
Such a fun read and was interesting how the POV switch for part 2 and 3. I was a bit confused on the beginning with the timeline jump. I always struggle with keeping track of timelines on audio books, so no fault to the author.
Naration was done by Sabastian York and Elizabeth Lousie. Elizabeth was the primary narator for this, and she really pulled me in. Sabastian York always does such a great job, and I was really looking forward to when he started reading. Great performance by both. Definitely recommend this to contemporary romance lovers.
Sammy Baker is a divorced, single mom trying to find her way again. With two boys and an absent ex-husband, she’s got the world on her shoulders and Legos under her feet. Amid the chaos lives the dream of, one day, finding love again. Though, she didn’t think that would land her smack-dab in the middle of two men.
Will Sammy choose the successful businessman who doesn’t hesitate to tell her he’s interested? Or will she go for the eligible bachelor doctor with a constant influx of women vying for his attention?
OK this story was adorable - the perfect heart warming story when you are in the mood for a fantastic rom com. It had the perfect amount of emotion, humor, and spice. You just know who Sammy belongs with and it was such an enjoyable journey watching her get there. My jaw dropped during the scene in the hospital - it was fun listening to all that play out! And I’ll just say her kids may be difficult, but boy are they hilarious.
I started this one on audio and listened to it almost non stop until the end. The first story that I’ve read by this author duo and it won’t be the last! Already downloaded the other books in this series from #KindleUnlimited
Thank you NetGalley for a copy of Cluelessly Yours. It was great.
Sammy is a divorced mother of two young boys who are loving, funny, and in to everything. After the divorce she moves the boys to New York to take advantage of her sisters and brother-in-law's offer to help and a place to live.
Not really ready to date she accepts an invitation to dinner with one of the diners at the restaurant she runs. She is also attracted to the doctor friend of her sister.
Who wil.she pick? Will her boys survive New York, then again will.New York survive her boys?
I enjoyed everything about this book. Sammy has been hit with all the things that befall single mothers today, and she handles it like a pro. I love a book with strong female characters, cute kids who make me laugh, supportive partners, and a bad guy who gets what's coming to him.

This was definitely my favorite of the series! I loved the unique premise and I really wasn't sure what was going to happen. I loved that the characters were "older", and that he fell first. I'm not a huge love triangle fan but thats okay. I could have used more of the present day, and I could have used more of the MMCs POV overall, but as a whole I really enjoyed this!
The narrators were great and seemed perfectly cast to me.
A lovely later in life romance with a mom of two boys who finds herself in a sort of a love triangle when she was barely starting to date again. Set in NYC, this one is delightful with its doggy playdates and mom's night outs and shenanigans.
Narrated dual style by Elizabeth Louise (who was new to me and a wonderful new find) and Sebastian York and they show the chemistry between the characters.
Though third in a series, it can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone!
I will most certainly look for more from Max Monroe!
Thank you< NetGalley and the authors for the audiobook!
This was a beautiful second chance romance with lots of humor and twists! I gave this a 5/5 star rating on Goodreads too!
I loved the main characters and the short lived love triangle had a shocking twist! Thank goodness for Noah!!
And as a mom, I felt the kids were a hilarious perspective to share. Kids truly say the darndest things!
