3.5 stars! This book was super cute and fun. I loved the spice, the characters and the connection to the other books in this universe. I wish I had more time with the couple to get to know them a little better, and did feel like one specific plot point wasn’t my favorite, but besides that I enjoyed this book a lot. I’m a big fan of this universe and the characters in it. I loved seeing the connection between the other two books and their main characters.

🚨Spoilers for if you don’t want to know who in the love triangle is the one!

This story definitely had some sweet spots full of laughter and love. Noah is a doll and I think his relationship with the boys was super cute. Our FMC was a bit of a mess but I loved that he was supportive and sweet to her.

Unfortunately, this one wasn’t a favorite for me. There were just some parts that rubbed me the wrong way and some phrases (like “the ___ is real”) felt overused.
I didn’t really understand the point of the love triangle. It was pretty clear (to me at least) from the start who was gonna be the one. Her dating the other guy just made her relationship with Noah feel super rushed.

Overall it was ok but not my favorite Max Monroe book.

Another charming clever romance tale by Max Monroe!

This book had me captivated right away, trying to figure out who the MMC would be! The first many chapters only gave us the POV of our MFC, Sammy Baker. Sammy, a single mom of 2 rambunctious boys, she was simply trying to find her footing after a bad relationship and divorce. Suddenly, she has 2 men swooning over her.

I was captivated by both men, and at times rooting for both (why choose, am I right? ;) ) however in the end, Sammy finds herself knowing in her heart and soul who is right and true.

I loved the crossover characters from the previous 2 books (though this can be read as a standalone), the laugh out loud moments (#RealMomLife), and just a sprinkle of spice!

Narrators Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise rocked this book. Their voices for the MCs plus supporting characters are on point and made the story even more captivating.

Thank you to the author and publisher for gifting me an ALC of this title. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe 1/13/24

Thanks to NetGalley and Max Monroe for this ALC💖 ! I voluntarily give my honest review and all opinions expressed are mine alone.

The narrators are Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York with all characters read alternately between them. I believe the voices fit the characters with standouts of Noah, and the kids Seth and Grant. Their voices were the most distinct, and I could easily tell the difference between all characters. The reading style did bring the story to life and the pacing was great and flowed easily with the story. The narration and the author were in sync, and they fit together perfectly.

The audiobook's flow was awesome. The hero and heroine had their own parts and they smoothly transitioned between Sammy and Noah. The narrator paused and announced every time a new chapter came. The book had a table of contents which helped me follow along with the e-book and audio.

Sammy wakes up from coma with her boyfriend Noah and a pregnant woman holding his hand. Both were hit by a car and are in St. Luke's hospital where Noah works. Sammy's ex-husband Todd decided he wanted his own life without a wife and kids, so Sammy moved from Ohio to NYC with her 2 sons. She starts over with the help of her sister Brooke and fiancé Chase. Brooke wants Sammy to "get back out there" and tries to set her up with her Dr. friend, Noah.

Overall, the romance was solid. Sammy went through a sexual awakening and released some of her worries. Noah was always there to help her, even if she didn't expect it. Noah found a family w/Sammy who accepts him and his sister unconditionally.

My recommendation is to read the audiobook because you can adjust the speed, skip parts easily (if desired), and picture the characters more vividly.

My rating: 4.5/5 ✨

Spice level: 4.5/5 🔥

Yet again, this writing duo provided me with a good time.    Right from the start they had me hanging on with a bit of suspense.  Single mom of two rambunctious little boys, Sammy, has gained the attention of two men.  Noah, the caring hot doctor her sister has been trying to set her up with and Gavin a smooth-talking businessman.

This is the 3rd book in the It’s a Funny Story series with easter eggs and recurring characters from the previous books, where Sammy and Noah are introduced.  This could be read as a standalone with a HEA (and honestly the best extended epilogue) but I recommend reading the entire series to get a feel for all the characters.

This book honestly had me laughing the entire time. This is honestly just a fun time.  I love the pop culture references, cheesy humor, quirky characters, and wacky incidents.  Written in three parts, now, then, and now I find myself intrigued with the dose of mystery and slight twist.  Full of sweet, swoony, and hilarious moments I loved the lightheartedness of this entertaining read.

If you are a fan of audiobooks I highly recommend this one. When I saw Sebastian York listed as a narrator I knew I needed this audiobook.  As expected his performance was spectacular, with Elizabeth Louise as Sammy their performance was top-notch.

Sammy Baker is a divorced mom with two young boys. After her divorce, Sammy and her boys move in with her parents in Ohio. After visiting her sister in New York, Sammy takes a leap of faith and moves her and her boys to the city to be close to her sister, Brooke and her fiancé, Chase.

Brooke is determined to set her sister up with Noah, an attractive pediatric anesthesiologist. Gavin, a businessman who frequents Sammy’s workplace, is also interested in Sammy. Sammy, however, is not sure she is ready to date.

Sammy keeps running into Noah, who seems to have a bevy of women at his disposal. While Sammy does have some feelings for Noah, she gives in and goes on several dates with Gavin, as she believes Noah is already taken. After a horrible date with Gavin, Sammy runs into Noah and the course of her life changes in more than one way.

I recently found Max Monroe, and I enjoy these romantic novels.

⭐️⭐️⭐️7/8 stars ;) rounded up to ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Thank you Netgalley and Max Monroe for the advanced copies of this book.

Sammy Baker is a divorced, single mom to two rambunctious boys just trying to make it through life. She is starting to dip her toe in the dating world and finds herself in the middle of a very successful businessman and a gorgeous doctor always turning women's heads. Who will she choose?

Though I haven't read Accidental Attachment yet, which follows Sammy's younger sister, Brooke, this has become my favorite in the series. I loved the concept of this book and despite some brief miscommunication with a 3rd party, I fell in love with this story. It is shown as a love triangle, but I'd say there was always a clear line of thinking on Sammy's part to shy away from a true love triangle situation. I could relate so well to Sammy being a mom to three boys myself. I found myself laughing out loud many times to the antics her boys got up to throughout the book.

Noah was such a cinnamon roll MMC, and I'm so glad we were treated to his thoughts as there was never a doubt in my mind how he felt about Sammy. His quiet patience with Sammy as well as always showing her unique ways to care for her were truly what won me over. The adorable dog, Dolly, also helped to move this man to book boyfriend status.

I'm glad I was able to have an audio copy of this book because Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise truly brought this story to life. I loved the different voices they used to differentiate who was talking. I'm also very happy that since this was a dual POV book there were two narrators on this audio. It makes the story seem that much more real.

Though this is a book in a series, it can most certainly be read stand-alone. Highly suggest reading this one via audiobook as well to enhance the story.

Cluelessly Yours is the first book I read from Max Monroe. It did have sort of a cheesy appeal to it, but I think it is the sort of romantic comedy the authors aim to write. The story line starts with a divorced single mom of two small children and her boyfriend who were in an accident and wake up in the hospital next each other....And there is also a pregnant woman standing next to her boyfriend's bedside. So if you like hot mess with some funny lines and pop culture references, this book is for you.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ALC!

Once again, Max & Monroe did not disappoint!! This had me cracking up! There were so many things I loved about this book - for one the character ages! I loved reading about adults with kids and grown up lives/careers!

The banter and hilarious inner monologue is always top tier in their books and this was no exception! I loved the ending and truly hope I get to see more of Kendall in the future!

The audiobook was phenomenal! It is a dual narration. Sebastian York is a favorite of mine and he did great as Noah! The voice fit perfectly! Elizabeth Louise was wonderful and the male voice didn’t make me cringe haha, which is always important! I will definitely want to find more of her work!

I was so excited to listen to this audiobook.
I was prepared for some serious love triangle angst. Grateful that it was mild. Sammy is a loving, single, working mom, juggling two lovely, naughty but seriously sweet kids and has no time for dating. When out of the blue two men begin contending for her attention in very different ways. Who will win? And ....will whoever ends up winning be the best choice and worthy of her love and affection?
This was such a cosy, sometimes funny read and the little twist and confusion towards the end? Gasp...I had to hold my breath!

Good narrating but I do prefer when the characters do their own voices.

Thank you to Netgalley, author and publisher for the chance to listen to this audiobook.

Audiobook Review
4.5 stars

This audiobook kept me at the edge of my seat. It starts with quite the scene and no names so I spent the majority of the book waiting, guessing and hoping for a (good) outcome.
Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise are incredible narrators and their voices suited the characters really well.

I absolutely loved this book! The first 4 sentences and prologue had me drawn in and I couldn't wait to get back to it if I had to stop listening.

Sammy is a single mom of 2 boys, Seth and Grant, who keep her on her toes. Sadly their dad is very absent so Sammy is on her own and has some help from her sister Brooke. Brooke has been trying to fix up Sammy with their friend Noah, Dr. Noah that is, for some time but Sammy blocks it at every turn.

Sammy agrees to go on a date with a frequent customer in her restaurant she manages and things don't exactly go as planned. I wanted to reach into that book and slap that man for her! I really felt like Sammy came to life after that and she finally started making choices for her and prioritizing her happiness.

The book progresses at a great speed and the characters develop so perfectly. I laughed, my heart broke, and I cheered the main characters on the whole way. You NEED this book in your life!

I just love this writing duo! Cluelessly Yours was laugh out loud enjoyable one minute and intense fight for your friend because "the guy is a jerk" the next minute. Basically, this is a perfect read.....well balanced with a touch of everything.

This book tells the story of Sammy Baker, a divorced mom of two boys. She's trying to find her way in New York City as a single mom. Even though she insists she isn't ready to date, two very different men present themselves in her life at the same time.

I adored this book. Sammy is a character you could really get behind and feel a connection with. Life had dealt her some crummy blows and you just wanted to see her find some happiness. In addition, you wanted her boys to have a positive role model since her ex-husband completely vanished from their lives.

The other characters in the book were also well-developed as well. It was also nice to re-visit Sammy's sister, Brooke and her fiancé, Chase.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: Ah yes! The audiobook was fabulous. The narration was absolutely perfection for these characters and I was completely engrossed from the first word until the last. 5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the ebook and the audiobook.

Cluelessly Yours is evidently #3 in the series. I did not realize that this was a book in a series, when i started listening to the audiobook. I don't feel that i missed anything by starting with #3 in the series.

Warnings at the beginning of the book advise about listening when you might be embarrassed about breaking into laughter at in opportune times, like at work or on jury duty or in a doctor waiting room (jury duty might be an exaggeration ... I don't remember). Personally, I didn't break into laughter during this book; eye rolls if anything.

Sammi's sister is pushing her towards a relationship with a friend of hers and a rom-com ensues.

Thank you to NetGalley for introducing me (yet once again) to an author who was not on my radar. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Max Monroe (which is the author team). The narration was by Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise who did a really great job of mixing the audio between narrators throughout the book ... not just at alternating chapters. Ok ... I was going to give this 4 stars, but since I'm actually approved to review the audiobook and the narration was exceptional, I'm adding a star and rounding up to 5 stars. But the book is 4 stars and the narration is 5 stars ... in my opinion. Publication date is 13 Jan 2024. The audio is 9 1/2 hours.

Another rom-com done right! So many mom moments in this book that gave me a little chuckle. I loved the mom not looking for love but finding it theme. The kids and the sister were a hoot. I enjoyed the banter & the one of a kind Max Monroe intro that takes a deep dive into the humor the pour into each book. This isn’t for those looking for a serious romance with depth and intense characters. This is for those wanting a good laugh and also those feel good moments - with a sprinkle of spice! If you are someone who lives in the world of, “this could only happen to me!”, then this book will be oh so relatable. There were some cheesy, ok slightly cringy cheesy, moments especially towards the end, but it’s well worth the read.

I would like to thank Max Monroe, the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me access to this advanced copy audiobook! Such a fun one!

I am not sure exactly what drew me to the audiobook of Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe but whatever it was I was glad. Perhaps it was partly the attractiveness of the cover and the other might have been that I was looking for something light, funny and engaging. Cluelessly Yours had all those elements and more. I listened to the audiobook that was very well narrated by both Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York. This was the first book that I have read by Max Monroe. Cluelessly Yours was part of a series but I had no trouble reading it as a stand-alone book. All of the characters were engaging and so believable. The audiobook was presented in three parts.

Sammy Baker had recently moved to New York City with her two young and rambunctious sons, Seth and Grant. She had gone through a messy divorce and wanted to be closer to her sister Brooke who was pregnant and lived in New York City with her perfect fiancé. Sammy worked as the manager of a restaurant. She juggled her responsibilities as a single mom with the pressures of working at the restaurant. Sammy knew that she had no time to allow herself to date or even think about the possibility of having a relationship. Her sons were a handful but they were the most important part of her life. They would always come first for Sammy. She was already in her forties. Who would even want her?

Sammy’s younger sister, Brooke, had been trying to play matchmaker for the longest time. There was an anesthesiologist that Brooke and her fiancé had met through their dogs that Brooke felt would be perfect for Sammy. His name was Noah and he was so handsome and sexy. Sammy couldn’t imagine what Noah would want with her. He probably had a beautiful girlfriend already. Besides, she could hardly manage her life as it was. How could she contemplate dating anyone?

Then with no forewarning, Sammy found herself in the middle of a love triangle. Not one, but two men were vying for her heart. There was Gavin, a frequent client of the restaurant and a successful businessman who flattered her and appeared to be the perfect boyfriend. Was he too perfect? Sammy couldn’t put her finger on it but something about Gavin felt off to her. Was she being too critical? Then there was Noah, the one Brooke was trying to set her up with. Every time Sammy ran into Noah, though, he was with a different woman. Each woman Sammy encountered with Noah was more beautiful than the other. Sammy found herself attracted to Noah but why would he want to be with her? She was a single mom with two young boys who had more energy than anyone could handle. Was fate going to determine Sammy’s future?

Just when Sammy thought that she had it all figured out a terrible accident occurred. Sammy woke up in a hospital with the man she had chosen and loved. What had happened? Why was there a pregnant woman standing by her boyfriend and why was she claiming that she was his girlfriend? Would Sammy ever have the happily ever after she was seeking?

Cluelessly Yours was well written. It made me laugh out loud at times. All my emotions were tested in this book. I really enjoyed most of the characters and their reactions throughout the book. Max Monroe was a new author for me but I would definitely seek out more of their books in the future. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe and highly recommend it.

4.5 ⭐️ Cluelessly yours is a contemporary romance and is the newest standalone in the interconnected series it’s a funny story. The book starts off with Sammy waking up in the hospital after being hit by a cab. While she has woken up from her Coma the man she is in love with has yet to wake up. Worst of all there is a pregnant woman by his side calling him her boyfriend! 😶
Sammy is a 40 year old single mom of 2 adorable boys Seth and Grant and has very little time to even consider dating. That does not stop her sister Brooke (who is the main character in Accidental attachment) from trying to set her up with their good friend Noah. Noah is a very handsome bachelor doctor who seems to always be surrounded by beautiful women. Then there is Gavin the very successful, handsome businessman who from the start makes his interest in her known. Who does Sammy choose? Guess you will just have to read/listen to find out 😉
What I can tell you is that I freaking LOVED this book! This is actually my first book by this duo but I can assure you it will not be my last. I laughed so much! I adore authors who can write kids in their books the right way and this duo knocked that one out of the park. Grant and Seth made me laugh several times. I just felt like they made Sammy and her life very relatable. The man who she ends up with was amazing with her boys and didn’t complain or make her feel bad for putting her kids first. The single parent trope is definitely one of my favorites. This does have three parts to it and it does go back to when she first starts everything with the 2 guys. I will say I don’t usually like going back in time, I usually like to just go from where it starts but I actually loved this because it didn’t keep going back and forth. Personally I didn’t think this was super predictable. Yes you definitely get the feeling of who she will end up with but there are definitely some surprises that I did not expect! Overall this book was fantastic and so full family, love and humor.
I was given an audio ALC for this book and the narrators are Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise. They were fantastic! I haven’t listened to Elizabeth Louise before but I felt like she draws you in. Her voice has emotion behind it and doesn’t feel like she is just reading a book. As always Sebastian York is a narrator that is almost always an instant buy for me.
Thank you to Max Monroe and NetGalley for the audio copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am voluntarily leaving this review. Cluelessly Yours releases January 13th, 2024!

🎧🎧AUDIO (mostly) & E-BOOK REVIEW🎧🎧

PERFORMANCE: Narration by Sebastian York & Elizabeth Louise – 4 STARS

Overall, I enjoyed both narrators, but I will say that it took me a minute to get used to Elizabeth’s narration because it felt more like actual reading. I’ve listened to quite a few of her narrations and never really felt this in those but this one was hard for me.

At first, I didn’t know how to feel about basically splitting up the storyline into 2 parts where the first part was all Sammy’s POV because I just could not connect with Elizabeth’s narration but in hindsight, I am super glad for it because I basically got the #twitchy out of the way before it was Sebastian’s turn *heart eyes* and all ended well! :)

STORY: 4 STARS

This entire story was ridiculously adorbs except I honestly do not know why any of triangle situation was even needed in the story. Did it move the story line forward? In my opinion, no, it only added an extra layer of dramatics the story didn’t really need. Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider any part of this story a true love triangle situation but I know those words have been used in some of the advertising but for me, the story drove in a straight line (no real triangle) the entire time. *shrug*

This series connects with characters here and there, but I truly think that if you want to read this without having read the first 2, you would be just fine. Yes, there are cameos from past characters, but the story of Sammy getting her HEA stands on its own.

I’ve really enjoyed this series thus far even tho all the stories seem to have some sort of unnecessary (in my opinion) dramatics, the voice and style of this author duo is quirky enough that I end up lost in their stories every time. This is actually my first series by these two authors but I’ve got some of their backlist already on my kindle & audible to look forward to!

3.5 stars!

This is a very cute and fun friends to lovers, single mom, love triangle story. I was exceptionally frustrated during the first 15 or so chapters, but it was worth pushing through for the happily ever after.

While this is technically a stand-alone, I would recommend reading Accidental Attachment first.

This was my first ever Max Monroe book- and I'm definitely interested in reading/ listening to more of their titles. The description of this book is what made me want to read it, and overall the storyline was compelling. I appreciated the single mom struggle and close sister relationship that added to the depth of the story. I also liked the relationship between Sammy and her love interests. There are some very sweet interactions and just enough steam in my opinion. The only negative was that the first part of the story felt really long. If I had read a paper copy of this book, I think I would have ended up skimming a good portion of the first part because it just dragged on- especially since hospital scene was teed up at the beginning, so I ended up thinking, "can we just get there already?" As a result of the build up being so drawn out, the ending fell a little flat to me.

Here are my thoughts on the audiobook... I really enjoyed both narrators- they can make or break a book and in this instance they were a positive. This was a slightly different format than you usually hear- the female narrated all of part one, then it switched to the man, and then a combination of both. I didn't mind the format at all, except for how long that first part was. It might have helped the overall experience if we had a change of narrator/ point of view sooner. But I'd happily listen to Elizabeth Louise or Sebastion York again.
